  1. Dear Sophia, In every development there are always units that are either suitable to the breadwinner or may have good Flying Star Feng Shui. Recently, a client bought a reasonably good unit with favourable Flying star Feng Shui i.e. the penthouse unit and also not affected by the afternoon sun. There are still several upper floors that have yet to be sold direclty by the developer. As usual, since no two units are identical, both Shapes and forms and compass school FS has to be applied. There are however, some units at ground level that has it's own P.E.S. (Personal enclosed space). Some of these units may have poison arrow in the form of either a pillar slicing thru the glass sliding door at the living room area or a concrete beam (yellow) colour that looks like a gun "shooting" into some of the ground floor units. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Vakta, Definitely not in a (sleeping) bedroom. Usually, it can either be placed in a "private" room such as the study or for the Chinese, it is quite common to be placed in the living room wall(s). But it is best not to place the photos facing the toilet, or share the toilet wall or face the dinning table. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Mich, Honestly, to ways of looking at Feng Shui: Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, few people would place a shower under the stairs. Perhaps, a toilet next to it is quite common. However, some of your questions can be commented under Shapes and Forms. But, truly either you should seek expert help or if you know Compass School Feng Shui, best to do a Flying Star chart to analyse especially locations for the dining area, toilet and even kitchen area. Otherwise, to answer your questions is like picking up a dice and rolling it on the table. Whatever comes up is the answer! Not so reliable rite? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Sable, Usually, if an offering is made, it is best made during the eve of Chinese New Year which was suppose to be 8 February 2005. Often, during the 1st to the 15th lunar day, it is best to avoid making an offering. Thus, the next best date is on the 16th lunar day i.e. 24 February 2005. It is considered not auspicious to do so between 9 Feb to 23 February 2005 Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Anon, In addition, how does the interior look like? Did the previous owner also did any renovations within the home? Usually, by removing the roof, the home would often be a candidate of change to a new period. But since it was done 8 years ago, your home is most likely a Period 7 home (1984 to 2003) instead of a Period 8 home. A home is considered as under Period 8 if the reno was done on or after 2004. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Oliv, 1. I must emphasie that the Flying Star concept uses the Five elements concept. 2. Between the "cures" related to the Productive cycle or "cures" based on the Destructive cycle, one should always try to use "cures" relating to the Productive cycle, first. 3. Again, I refer to the 5 elements cycle under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 4. Based on the subsitution model which I had just recently postulated:- The productive cycle:- Metal -
  7. Dear J Seco, Firstly, sorry for the side-track, here. It is good to understand that under Period 8, #8 usually has a higher weightage than other stars. Thus for example, in a sector such as the centrepoint of the home i.e. with a #8. But if there is a #5 at this sector, since both are earth stars, but because #8 is the reigning star, it is usually far more auspicious or has a higher weightage of luck than say #5. Thus, some people may advise the hanging of a windchime at this location even if #5 is present with #8 such as the centrepoint of the home. But the windchime is equally destructive to #8. Thus, this is a lose-lose situation. Best not to hang a windchime, here. Please see below:- Usually, if we go for safe driving course, this course is often known as "defensive" driving. Why not be alittle more pro-active being on the defensive rather than leaving the doors open for a "sneak-attack". Thus, even with a sum of ten, we should go for some prevention rather than too late!
  8. Dear Sophia, Please see below:- Many of us think in terms of enhancing wealth. But many of us do it literally the wrong way. For example, some people force themselves to maintain a fish tank even though this is not their hobby. Imagine, to some of these people, the toil of weekly cleaning the fish tank and other maintenance chores like feeding the fish. To a fish hobbist this is entirely different! To him or her, it is a pleasure to maintain their fish tank! It is the same senario. This "fool" was told that he has to cover his TV set each day before sleeping. And this really silly fool, adds to the sillyness of having to enslave himself with such unnecesary routines each day and out. Instead of living a happy "care-free" life, many people, become too obsessed with performing this or similar "rituals" for the sake of "Feng Shui". The morale of the story is "instead of what is the best picture" to hang, we should collectively as a family decide what we really, really like. And hang them. But most people may prefer to keep the location clear or don't bother to hang a picture or painting.

Dear Mara, This type of reasoning does not seem logical. It is like saying that the world is SQUARE? I can understand Muslims, having to pray facing Mecca and when they die and buried, their body i.e. head to legs face Mecca. This is a Muslim's belief. But, East? Why not West? or South? Frankly, if it is suppose to apply to the masses, then, this is a total untruth. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Sophia, Please see below:- It is more a concern than reality. Since the fridge is not known to emit any dangerous radiation or microwave. The only concern is with some fridge *touchwood* is the "heat" .... But given that there isasolid wall between the bed-head and the opposite side fridge, there is no issue, here. The worse "senario" is perhaps a neighbour of the same floor level hanging a (railway station, type of wall clock) facing our unit. Symbolically, the Chinese does not like to "give" a clock to others... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Sophia, Since Grand Duke is at the location mentioned, it is better to be on the safe side -- i.e. move the grandfather clock away from this location. However, a double edged sword exists if there are nasty #5's x 2 at this location. If so, between choosing ot offend Grand Duke or "submitting" one's soul to devil, it is better should there be a multiple of #5 in that location to leave it to deal with the "devil". The morale of the story? " The Devil has the right of way, first! Grand Duke, move-aside!". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Michelle, 1. In many of the past forum messages, it is best to "slow down", perhaps take some deep breath before committing to what you had written, below. 2. The key success to anything we do is to understand the purpose of each concept and it's strengths and weakness. 3. Called simply "the three-step-approach": 3.1 What is the purpose of the concept / theory or idea? 3.2 Whatare it's strengths? 3.3 What are it's weakness? 4. For example, what you had mentioned is the Eight House Theory or 4 Good/4 Bad directions. 5. The purpose of this theory is to see whether a home fits the breadwinner or not. I re-emphaise again -- "whether a home fits the breadwinner". 6. Does it in any way say that about two persons? Breadwinner fit another person? Other than a home. 7. So how come? A home can changed into another "person" such that we come to the conclusion that since Person A does not suit a specific home, but perhaps another Person B suits it. 8. Here, we cannot therefore join this equation that since house does not suit Person A; therefore Person A must = to Person B? 9. If we consider this "paring" then it is statistically ridiculous that there is a 50-50 percent chance that we either suit or cannot suit each other since there are only two categories: East group and West group persons. 10. However, we cannot be so naive as to provide this evidence in court as one of the reasons why both couples had irreconciable differences. A judge would think of us as LOONY or mad? The poor lawyer or solicitor handling our case could end up in contempt of court! 11. Based on the 3-step-approach, we can realise that perhaps the Chinese zodiac signs (equivalent English zodiac signs) are meant more for human-to-human assessment. And not human-with-home (Eight House). 12. This the purpose of the Chinese zodiac is to look at compatibility e.g. http://www.lovesigns.net 13. The morale of the story is "Don't jump immediately to the wrong conclusions". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Hoa Luong, Please refer to my earlier forum message which I clearly stated that a WS#9 is not the same as WS#8. In many of the forum messages a WS#8 = current prosperity and water should be activated here. Please check my previous message where I mentioned that WS#9 is best associated with Wood element. Thus it would be reasonable to place a plant at that sector to enhance the future prosperity. As to whether the plant is medium sized or large it has to go with the location where one wants to place it. And it is for your own judgement to do so. If the location can support a large tree and looks reasonable then go ahead. But if as a result of the big tree, for example especially mango tree, it has a large "foot-print" of leaves and may leave a location too dark. Only perhaps Tarzan would enjoy it or just maybe Jane may divorce Tarzan because it became too dark. No one knows. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Further to what I had mentioned, below, please goto the Photo Tour with Interest conference and do a SEARCH for "beam", You should be able to find some of the following messages: Conference: Info :: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures):- Message dated 9/3/2002 Another alternative: bamboo flute Message dated 6/17/2002 An alternative to neutralise a beam Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Hock Chuan, In fact, there are several cures that had been highlighted in this forum, before. But since this is an office and especially if it is an open office, one may have to eliminate some of the cures:- 1. placing of two wooden flutes hung on one pillar just above the head 2. placing a flute each on either side of the pillar to (symbollically) "hold-up" the beam 3. add on of a "cornice" e.g. a three-quarter flower side cornice. The picture was uploaded to this forum a while back. 4. this forth method is unconventional but it is sticking "metallic" stars onto the ceiling beam, just above the head. You may have to search the: Photo Tours of Interest with pictures or the Feng Shui Tips conference, I believe the illustrations are in there. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Anon, Hanging a hulu is symbolic in nature thus brass, wood or marble are acceptable with either red or metallic looking string. The only difference is the mark-up or price to line the pocket of the seller. The saying goes, it does not matter if the hulu is made entirely of good quality jade or completely made of 999.99 percent gold etc... Here, it is only a matter of paying $$$$. "A hulu, is but only a hulu". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear J Seco, There are two points to consider, here:- 1. Introducing metal cures does not actually mean that our office furniture in particular, the one we use should be clad in metal or glass. 2. Commonsense approach Often, the best furnitures of wood are preferred simply because it has low conductivity of "cold". It is similar to the idea that for many Chinese, they prefer to use wood panels or parquet (wood) flooring in thebedrooms. This is because, floor tiles such as ceramic, marbel, terazzo, granite, homogenous titles etc are cold to the touch. Andwhen a person wakes up,it issaid that stepping onto a wooden floor panel is preferred as it is neithercold or hot. For many of us,nowadays, we have akeyboard on the table and most of the time our wrist and arms rest onto the table top.In an air-con environment, placing our arms onto glass top may mean colder feeling. Thus wood (low conductivity) is often preferred. Generally, if one does not mind a "cold-to-touch" glass / metal clad table, this is fine. It is really no harm in having this type of furniture if one wants to get-a-go buying it. But it does help to add a little more metal into the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear J Seco, When looking at a sector, one must not only look at just one star # but all three: Mountain #; Water # and Base (Palace) # numbers. Usually the cures for #2 is to neutralise it with simple things like 6 coins (big metal) or hulu or both. Another category star #5 or a combination of #5 with #5; #5 with #9 etc...would need constant metal to destroy it. And or the introduction of wood (green plants) to crush it. Thus, the most common constant metal are the use of wind chimes and a "tick-tock" clock such as an old grandfather chime clock. Usually these two objects can be readily purchased outside of the domain of Feng Shui shops or emporiums. Salt cure or salt neutralisation belongs to this second category and also can be bought outside of Feng Shui shops. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Sophia, I must truly say that you do have extraordinary items in your home. Honestly, I have yet to see a Kuan Yin figurine in the pose you had mentioned below. Yes, symbolically, it does not feel good to see Kuan Yin sitting with her leg pointing out. From a human aspect i.e. it does not feel good to see her leg sticking out! Worst still if she "encounters" a dirty old man or lecher trying to peep into her "internal garments!". Yeah, best to cover her legs with a robe. Looks more decent! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Hoa Luong, In general, under this current period: Period 9, #9 is the future prosperity star number. Thus, wealth derived from this star #9 is NOT current but is known as future wealth luck. It is imperative that each # should not be looked at in isolation! For example:- EXAMPLE 1:- If Mountain star is #4; while water star is #9, this is a good combination as Mountain star #4 (wood) supports water star #9 (fire) i.e. wood fuels fire. Thus, this sector is considered to have some future wealth luck, here. EXAMPLE 2:- If, however the mountain star is #5 (bad earth) or #2 (bad earth), this is no good as Water star #9 fuels earth and further inflame #5 or #2 making or increasing misfortune/sickness within this sector. Here, usually metal cure is required to neutralise this sector. Therefore, the clue here is that even if a sector is known as WS, it does not literally mean that water would drown #9 from the first example (example 1) above. Again, a firm foundation of the Five element concept is required to fully grasp the concept. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Lina, It is best that one truly understand the "root" reason or "basis" behind this being considered as inauspicious. The reason why it is considered inauspicious is based on "Commonsense approach" where if there is a fire in the home, a most likely location is from the kitchen / stove location. And because should a bedroom be above the kitchen; since fire rises upwards, it may be a cause of concern. On the practical side, it is more worth-while to instal smoke detectors in appropriate places than to rely on "Feng Shui" cures. Use of water in a bedroom or kitchen may often be not a good solution especially if there are electrical points and other electrical equipment which may short-circuit etc... Since this is a "commonsense" issue; therefore it makes even more sense to apply the proper - realistic "cure". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Anon, Further to what I had mentioned, if your home is currently a Period 7 home, you should also investigate or map out your home using Period 8 East 2/3 chart to see if this chart has any particular benefit: Especially if you have the living room at the west or the back of the home. If so, and if other sectors are better, you may / should consider flying to it if it is found to be a better chart. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Anon, I assume that your homewas bornor had a major renovation done under Period 7 (1984 to 2003); if so for an East 2/3: 1. The SW is the water wealth sector alternatively 2. If the frontage is at East, try to take care of this sector as it has very bad star combinations of MS#2 with WS#7 and Palace or base star #5. Because of the bad WS#7, here a water feature can be useful to drown bad earth #2 and #5 and also neutralise bulgary star #7. Thus, between the two, it is still better to take care of Para 2. above. The idea here is that it is always prudent to "FIX-THE-LEAK, FIRST!". Especially since you mentioned that the home is an East 2/3 facing. Thus most likely the living room area or main entrace area could be, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Pam, A ditch is considered as drainage in a home. And should not be confused with the "water-on-mountain" theory such as whether it negates the sum-of-ten or not. What above means is that simply any water feature (not ditch) found on a mountain star particularly under this Period 8 : Mountain Star #8 (current prosperity) or Mountain Star #9 (future prosperity). In particular if "water-is-on-this-mountain" water on #8 location, then this will affect one's lottery, human relationship / networking luck. For a water star #8 it refers to earned luck and general prosperity of a home. In your case, it is best to look at the Chinese compass school of whether there is actual wealth leaking out of the home from the property. For example: Please go view the two Ba Gua or Pakua templates:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm Visualise : 1. The First Heaven Sequence Ba Gua chart 2. TheLast Heaven Sequence Ba Gua chart STEP 1: Use a compass to determine the facing direction of your home. STEP 2: Determine where(if any) water position flows into or thru your property. Here, for example if your home is a South facing home. The key to understandingwhether wealth is retained or flow outis the idea that: For examplefor aSouth facing house: If water enters from the HEAVENtrigram under the First HeavenSequence chart, it MUST notEXIT out of the Last Heaven Sequence's HEAVEN trigram. Thus we can similarly say: If waterin the above e.g. enters from South, it should notexit toNW as found under the Last Heaven Sequence trigram. EXAMPLE 2:- The home is facing EAST. Under the First Heaven Sequence chart, East is"FIRE". Thus inthis property, a ditch or water should not exit towards South under the Last Heaven Sequence chart which has the "FIRE" trigram. EXAMPLE 3:- If the home is facing SW. Water flows into the property from NE which under the First Heaven Sequence chart is "THUNDER". Thus, it would be very unfavourable if there is a drainage or ditch exiting this propertytowards EAST under the Last Heaven Sequence chart where this is also "THUNDER". This is a simple analogy of how to apply Water classics under the Compass School of Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear All, 1. Using the productive cycle template: METAL - thus we can make the above formula more meaningful by adding the words good or bad into the above equation:- EXCELLENT #9 (strong fire) - Beingcurrently a weak metal, it cannot really efficiently draw out or exhaust strong earth #5. In addition, two other elements are left untouched! Water and Wood. 6. Water element can be introduced to this sector: fortwo reasons:- 6.1USINGWATER IN THIS SECTOR(WHY IS WATER SUITABLE IN THIS SECTOR) weak metal element #7 bulgary or thefton it's own is a bad element. We can use water to draw or exhaust in the above productive cycle. 6.2 being a weak metal element, the above proposal is to add additionalmetal e.g. a set of six coins (strong metal). 7. Under the productive cycle, metal(strong metal) can be helped by water to create wealth under the productive cycle. 8. ALTERNATIVE INTRODUCTION OF "WOOD" An alternative solution is to use Wood. Because #9 fire fuels the ugly #5.Thus if one understands the destructive cycle of the five elements concept: Wooddestroys Earth Much like a tree with strong roots crushing into theearth. I hope that those learning Flying Star Feng Shui can print this out and go thru the step-by-step approach to figuring outthe equation - balanced or unbalanced in each of the flying star sectors and go into a systematic approach to apply an efficient cure. Please note that in the above example, I have not included the YEAR star. You can easily add or combined the YEAR star into the above and fine tune the above equation. If you are able to use this approach, I am very confident that you are on your way to have a solid grounding in Flying Star Feng Shui or the use of the Five Elements concept! Warmest Regards, Cecil
