Dear Yael, The truth is that Feng Shui theories do not really have an answer to the application of Feng Shui to a classroom. However, as a guideline, for the placement of tables and chair, it should be placed so that light entering the windows do not pose glare to the table tops. Usually, tables should be arranged straight rows and columns and the teacher sit directly facing the children. Other than the above and creating a more yang environment e.g. you can display work done by the children on the walls or noticeboards to increase their esteem. The rest will have to depend on the method of teaching and creating an interest in their studies based on individual teaching m…

Dear Shelley, Thank you for your valuable comments. Personally, wherever we can will continue to highlight the various practises and leave it to everyone to make their own personal judgement. Please see below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Thursday, July 22, 1999 1:52 PM Subject: Conflicting Advice 1. On the use of the Ba Gua mirrors: In my personal opinion it is common for Chinese households to place the Ba Gua mirrors above their main door to `ward off evil'. Some of these Ba Gua mirrors also have A Twin Door God painted below it. However, as Feng Shui is internationalised, I am not su…

1. For this month, you should not place the plant at the SE sector. 2. The most effective way to neutralise #3 is to leave the light on say for a few hours e.g. in the night say from 7.30pm to 10pm. (Those who havea table lamp with a timer is best.) 3. Alternatively, place some red coloured items at the SE sector to neutralise #3. (Assuming that there are no nasty additional #5 in that sector). Akay J. wrote: Hi first of all, i want to say that i appreciate your helpful advice. i just found out that monthly flying star 3 will land in southeast sector this month. this also happens to be the upper right corner from my entrance where i happen to have a plant as i wanted t…

Dear Dragana, Yes, I do agree with you. It is not wise to convert it to a sewerage tank especially if it is at the front of the home even if it is underground. More importantly, it is also best not to have sewerage pipes running under "living areas" such as under the bed. One can view this article that I had written many years back on the dangers ...http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.htm In my opinion, keeping it as a water tank would definitely be a better choice Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned, avoid using a water feature at sector(s) with #3 and or #4. Do also check the 20 year flying stars if there are any /and or #3 and/or #4.

Hi, Frankly, this is usually considered too insignificant to be a major concern in Feng Shui—the influence is simply too minor. It’s similar to the idea of using an imperial Frankly, this is usually considered too minor to be a big concern in Feng Shui—the influence is very small. It’s like using special measurements or a Feng Shui ruler, but for most people, it’s not practical to buy custom furniture, such as tables, just to get lucky sizes. While Feng Shui recommends furniture with good measurements, what should we do when shopping? Many practical Feng Shui experts say to trust your own feelings. Hi What if I have already fixed the other flaws? As indicated, a hulu can be used to trap the wealth if the toilets are located at NE of house. What kind of hulu (i.e. made of what material) and where to place the hulu so as to fix this flaw?

Dear Becky, To be honest, if you are referring to the "House-number" report, it is meant more for high-rise apartments. This house number report is based on "Vertical-flying" Star Feng Shui. As the term "vertical" suggests, it has to do with buildings or apartments on different floors. This method is very popular especially in Hong Kong with high density of population living in flats or condominiums. And it is said that a high rise that is on the 6th floor or storey would differ in qi with another same unit on the lower or even upper floors. Thus, if yours is a landed property, this "House-number" report should not be used. But rather, one should, if one knows how t…

Dear Lia, 1. Yes, you have brought up a very good question. 2. However, the Key Success Factor here is to take The Five Elements Concept to a higher step. 3. Hint: It has to do more with the concept of Strong or Weak. 4. Drawing a parallel, in Ba Zi, one must ensure that one get one's element not only correct but also whether it is `strong' or `weak'. 5. Unfortunately, for Xuan Kong or Flying Star Theory, many of the bad earth belong to the Strong Element. 6. For example #2 and #5 are strong earth element. 7. When countering strong earth, one should where possible avoid wood element. 8. No doubt, wood is acceptable to destroy weak earth. But it is not a good solution to d…

Dear Elena, 1. You can also check out my write-up today: two parts: Part I & Part II : Facing direction of a home. 2.Under the above article, since your is a landed property, try to also determine the "Mouth-of-the-house" or generally where is the frontage of your home. 3. In your case, and based on your description, it would seem that your home facing direction could be the South as you had mentioned. 4. It does not matter if your front door or garage is at the north. 5. Often, especially for homes that suit your current description, and if there is a large lake, where the south side overlooks such a water feature or clear space then, there is even a clearer di…

Please note that there are three kinds of luck: 1. Heaven Luck or born with 33.33 percent 2. Earth Luck or Feng Shui of the home and/or office 33.33 precent 3. Man or Human luck ; good family bonding etc... 33.33 percent Total marks = 100 percent Why must one rely solely on Heaven Luck alone? Do you know that many don't have fantastic Heaven Luck nor Earth luck but have good human luck factors? Another thing, in our modern society; many people (already) have lots of stress; and why create more "auto-suggestion" and "self-fullfilling prophecy?" Frankly, one day all of us my (disappear from this earth or turned into ashes) so... what is your worry?

Dear Anon, It is not a `conclusive' fact that paintings can neutralise bad sectors. In well published Feng Shui cures, the most common neutralizing agents range from: 1. If you cannot see it it no longer becomes a sha. 2. Use of lighting, water positions and plants. 3. Use of 6 coins to defeat say the bad #2 and #5 For paintings, it is mostly used to enhance the interior. Caligraphy of meaningful words are commonly used. One can say that as there are many practioners with their view points, or agenda, there are those who pay emphasis on paintings while others do not really feel that they are of the utmost importance. In my personal opinion, painting is secondary. What is …

Hi, Overall, we do not really need to `worry' ourselves on new kitchen gadgets: 1. The fundamental reason is because if we do not get our " basics " correct all these little or minute issues are over written by " global issues ". For example, if one lives in an apartment and there is a large building that sent poison arrows to the entire building, this is considered bad Feng Shui. Or the house is at the Y junction or T junction. No matter how much we improve the interior of the house, it does not matter as the residents are having bad Feng Shui. The issue here is that they should first look at ways to `protect' e.g. their front door etc.. Nowadays, the focus is on the ind…

Dear Anon, I am not sure if anyone have heard of the Show `Kung Fu' starring David Carradine (I hope I spent his name correctly). In this show, or a series of TV episodes, he is also called the `grass hopper'. In one episode, he had to use his arm to hold up the buring cauldron. When he did this, his left hand was burned with the profile of the dragon and his right arm the profile of a tiger. Usually, these `monks' wear a robe and the markings of the dragon and tiger are not shown. For a dragon ring, it is in my opinion a small object and secondly it usually does not point towards the person. Anyway, it does not really matter being a small object. Looking at it another…

Dear Robert, Thank you for your reply. I think I did disturb the Grand Duke Jupiter while renovating as one portion of SW (240.0 TO 247.5) lie in that room which I renovated and the Grand Duke was there in 2004.Recently I have placed Pi Yao in the East facing West to appease the Duke after reading a lot of your advice forums. Does this solve the problem? As you have suggested, I have checked the 2/5 combination and it lies in the NW sector with 9 as the base star. Please suggest a remedy as I have had enough trouble after the beginning of period 8 especially after this renovation. Also one more question. My Gua no is eight. In period eight the misfortune star 5 lies in S…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi.. I have a question to ask about stove and toilet.. As per attached picture, will there be any leakage of wealth? Cos that is the only favorable position in my kitchen to place the stove, and in order to avoid the toilet entrance from facing the stove, I have purposly build a wall to block it. Would need your advice.. Thank you.. Generally, as long as these two worst setup is avoided, should be ok:- 1. The stove does not face the toilet bowl directly. 2. The stove is not located just behind a wall sharing the toilet bowl. The rest depends on other factors. Given that there is at least a walkway and wall, the stove would not face the toi…

Hi, Off-hand, it is hard to say what is the best colour for say a building. For a home, the most common colour is `neutral' white if it is the plastered walls. I guess, white is good as it is `better' at deflecting light than dark colours which aborb heats. This also depends on the country you live in. Usually if one is not using white, usualy pastel light shades of colours are acceptable. If one's side of the house is say facing a Yin location e.g. a cemetry, one should try to use a Yang colour to `offset' or neutralise the Yin qi. For a building, if one is using Feng Shui, you may need to consult a Feng Shui consultant to look at the surrouding and recommend a solution…
