Dear Ewa, Here are some guidelines as to the placement of the stove and water elements (water elements include the sink & fridge):- If the Kitchen is located at the South (Fire), East (Wood) and South-East (Wood) ,W (Metal) and West (Metal) In the above situations, the `fire' in the kitchen will not `die' out and even if you have a water position opposite the stove, it is fine. In fact, a water position opposite the stove at the above locations can help `cool' down the fire. If the Kitchen is located at the North (Water), North-East (Earth ) and South-West (Earth) In the above situation, where there Water and Earth, the fire can easily be extinguished, you should NEVE…

Dear Anon, 1. For the extension, in order for it to be considered an " extension " of the home, it has to be an enclosed space. Not an open space or `shelter'. 2. It is usually not prudent to add an extension unless it is used to `cover' a missing corner. Avoid a protrusion at the wrong compass direction of the house. If there is a missing corner, one can use instead, landscaping for a landed property. 3. From the many analysis done on houses, the centrepoint should usually be clear space. If not clear space, leaving it or not e.g. using the toilet at all is acceptable. (Not ideal but still better than `using' it). The rationale is because the centrepoint is where all th…

Hi Eve The article on the Titanic by Raymond Lo is at www.worldoffengshui.com. This is Lillian Too's web site. Very interesting article. It's easy AFTER the event, what about something BEFORE an event. What a skeptic eh ? An uncle of mine was booked on that Silkair flight but car broke down enroute to the airport so had to catch a later flight. Maybe I should look at his chart. I guess his elements were well balanced that day and that luck was on his side. Cheers Glyn

As a final option, individuals who are extremely pressed for time and need to begin renovations right away can opt to perform the initial open door procedure and remove all items after waiting for one hour. This is typically the case when the client has to vacate their current residence, has just received the keys, and must start renovations immediately.

Dear Kieron, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes, glad that you will continue to trust your intuition. Believe me, it is more powerful sometimes than following all sorts of books and we may end up worse or feel "depressed" having to follow a `set' of routines. Look at it this way, many people have never heard of Feng Shui but benefitted from their own instincts or `six sense' or `intuition.' Appended on 4 December 2019: Suggest, please go directly for an in-dept understanding of the Frontage of a house. Is it always the main door? Please refer to the attached resource: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=26954&new= For practical reasons, the smallest Asian sized door width is 35 inches. For European or American standard - should be 42 inches or 48 3/4 inches roughly within such a range. Commonsense approach is that if the width is larger; the larger clearance the door has to "swing" inwards. And imagine if the door size is 58 inches (one or two leaves) a…

Hi Cecil, I forgot to mention in the previous email that the the ceiling of the entire bedroom is a sloping (reversed V-shape) ceiling. Someone suggested that hanging a crystal to the aircon vent is one of the fixes? Will that work? Also, would a poster bed with 4 pillars be an alternative fix (the cloth on the pillars block the cold air from blowing directly to the head)?? Please help! Many thanks!!

1. In general, bi jian or "friend" relates to person to person relationship. 2. Person to person relationship can be between: husband & wife / son to father / a person to another person. 3. For the Chinese, generally, are more cautious (due to upbringing) and many Chinese don't open up immediately especially to strangers. 4. The higher score generally is akin to like being more easier to make friends. 5. Usually the norm for any of the ten dieties is generally 0 to 2. Anything above this is higher. 6. The rationale for 0 to 2 is that under the Ten Deiities; contrary to popular belief; a person say with all Ten deities at 0 or 1 is considered a well rounded or has a…

Dear Chris, If the doors are used frequently, there are really nothing much you can do. This is because if two doors are facing each other, it signifies that each occupants of either room will not be in good terms with each other. Early this year, one user wrote in to say that his main entrance door faces directly his neighbours and something like one metre between them. He mentioned that they are frequently at logger heads. The only alternative is to see if the doors can be located separately (where possible) if not, you may try to close the door but it may not be effective thou. Dear Mina, 1. Chinese Astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu), Eight House Theory, Flying Star Theory, Pillars of Destiny all these major theories uses Chinese Lunar calendar system for their calculation. 2. In authentic Chinese methodology such as Chinese Astrology, Eight House and Flying Star all reference to one's Chinese Lunar calendar. 3. Xia (Hsia) or Chinese Solar calendar is used mainly to define season. And in Pillars of Destiny, this is one portion of the calculation. For example, to define the season of birth i.e. when you were born what season it happen to be at that time. 4. As mentioned above, all other major calculations of Pillars of Destiny uses the Chinese Lunar cal…

Dear Pedro, Currently, there are quite alot books on Feng Shui. I have not heard of Richard Webster. It is great to hear that you found his books good reading for beginners. This would be of help to users in this forum wanting to buy one for the beginners. Generally, Feng Shui books can be classified as under:- 1. A Feng Shui Master or his student writting books on " Traditional Feng Shui practise " especially those whose Master had originated from Taiwan or HongKong, and the Asia Pacific and even from Canada (where HongKong residents migrated there). 2. Books written not by Chinese Masters but overseas e.g. not of Chinese origin: a. Some of these authors who are influenc…

Dear Mr. Lee, Thank You very much for your advice. I am bit confused about the following advice you have givenie., "if you have a feng shui ruler every8 inch will fall under the auspicious dimensions ie 7-10 inch or 15-18 inch etc." Would you please explain to me what you mean by this? My understanding is that the length of the desk should be a multiple of 8 such as 56, 64, 72 or 120,128, 136 or 144. Did Iunderstand it correctly? Thank You. Anon

1. Yes, if the tree is exactly at the front door; it is symbolic of a "butter" knife slicing your main door. 2. Good news or bad news? If the tree is relatively young i.e. not taller than 1 metre, there is some reprieve for the immediate. Wait until it grows taller, thicker than it becomes a real threat! 3. Last resort? One "noisy" option is to hang a wind chime at the frontage - in-front of the main door. Another alternative option is placing a concave mirror above the main door. 4. As you had mentioned, Para 3 need not happen if the tree does not appear, ..there....

(4) But the main door is directly facing the other apartment's main door. I read that luck or good qi will be sucked away by the other apartment or vice versa, what are the remedies? COMMENTS: In my opinion, it depends! Sound more like: Grandmother's tale. COMMENTS: In Singapore (SGP) in my opinion for condominiums; as high as 30 or more percent of flats have doors that face each other. For public housing; nowadays, this may be around 20 percent or less. COMMENTS: Thus in my opinion, the above is no big deal. Predominantly many homes in Beijing are North to South facing for a reason... because of the "dusts" blowing from the north.
