There is a built-in storage cabinet behind the bed, but the headboard is solid. Does this still mean bad feng shui?

Dear LH, Thanks for the clarification. Yes, using the adage: "If one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat". In your example, since the stove does not face the main door (directly) in full view, it is not a "threat" to it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Thank you for sharing with everyone this information. Yes, this general belief is considered by many FS experts specialising in Shapes and Form School. We can generally classify this as under " Symbolism " in Feng Shui. A few Taiwan FS Masters also warn of `innocent' objects such as a thin narrow Chimney as equivalent to a joss stick. The end result is usually calamity or death for family members. Once again, thanks for sharing with everyone this information. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Judy, Please see below:- In general:- 1. Auspicious symbols e.g. each of the mandarin characters Fu Lu Shou can be carved a string of auspicious character as borders e.g. say outside the building or on a piece of furniture. I personally have a table lamp that has carved piece of "Fu" character table lamp. Here, these are auspicious symbols, that are part of the furniture or fittings. 2. The `taboo' or `superstition' is that if it is a figurine of one of the deities etc... it should be `treated with dignity and respect'. Thus, for objects that are `alive' or figurines, try to avoid placing them at locations I had mentioned earlier such as next to a toilet wall. …

Dear Aloysius, Good Question. The idea, here is to complete or try to complete all renovations at these areas e.g. North (3killings);West (5 yellow) and NW (Grand Duke) for 2006before we move-into the home. Usually for those who purchased a new home or a resale home:- 1. Select a good date for initial opening of the main entrance door. 2. Select a good date to start renovations. Here, so long as one has not moved-into the apartment, as yet; contractors hacking or knocking or painting at North, West or NW (2006) does not matter. 3. Select a good date to move-in. What matters most is that once we moved-in, avoid doing further work at these three sectors. 2007 is near…

1. Please note that there is no such thing as a perfect home. Even if we were to built our home, there are often still - some flaws be it minor or major. 2. Don't over-eat concepts like Eight House (4 Good/Bad directions) as what is most important STILL is personal feelings which is strongly associated with Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 3. For example, even if one's good direction is directly facing a window or glare from the sunlight; after a while; even if it is a good direction, one may get headache from the glare! More... Dear Benjamin, 1. To side track (a-bit); I suddenly realised that the forum message under Free Advice (General Topics) is now close to the 5,000 messages mark. 2. I `suddenly' thought of this because, I could still vaguely remember one reply or several replies within the 2,000 message mark on this issue. I cannot blame anyone for not reading the previous message on this. So here goes.... 3. Lilian Too is not wrong in this aspect. This is because, in the `Traditional Eight House Theory'; the backdoor is considered of prime importance because this will determine the type of house e.g. a North house; South house etc.... 4. Here again, I like to emphaise that when one reads …

Dear Nonie, There are various FS concepts and frankly, it may not be that bad as basing it on the south side / fire with water may not necessarily mean inauspiciousness. If you have pictures of it, feel free to post it in this forum. I can take a look at it. More importantly, Shapes and Form is a major consideration. One KEY area in Feng Shui is the accumulation of wealth and draining of `bad' water. Perhaps, it may be premature to say that this is inauspicious. Alternatively, it could spell auspiciousness. I am unable to comment fully at this moment without much info on the land form of your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Yes, one should stand at the centre-point of the house facing the main door to take a reading. No, based on all readings used for inputs in this website we use the method as mentioned under the link http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Yes, this is the method used here. ---- On a different subject --- If one uses the Luopan, a different method is adopted. But as mentioned in a few messages, most readers can easily get hold an ordinary compass thus, this is the principal method, used in this website. Since we are using the ordinary compass, all the `information' and instructions on how to read, and input the figures in thi…

Hi Anon, Generally, plants in general are good for beautifying the environment as well as as plants with flowers are often good indicators to whether a sector is good or bad. Remember that the goal of feng shui is ultimately to create an environment which you will feel comfortable in. Most people should find that a home with plants or a beautify garden very relaxing to be around. Thus, plants no matter what variety are always used. In terms of feng shui, any sharp objects pointing at your home or etc are considered poison arrows. Which is why most people will go for less torny plants if and where possible. Usually, one will also try to avoid getting plants which can cr…

Dear Sudha, Please see below:- Glad that you found the information useful:) The most important points to consider when using the Eight House is: 1. How suitable is the house to the breadwinner. As you have mentioned you can take into consideration your elder sister as the breadwinner. Preferably, the death or disaster intangible forces do not flow thru the main door for her. In this case, it is considered that the house is not suitable for her. 2. For yourself, it is less of a concern other than to check which locations you spent most of the time at. For example, where best, the inauspicious intangible lines do not flow thru your bedroom. Check out for the rest o…

1. In my opinion, it is at least good to hear that you are "starting" a "new" life. 2. However, whenever possible, I do hope that you do not take too much of the Chinese zodiac signs "too seriously". As I feel that too much reference, digestion of e.g. the characteristics of say a dragon, snake etc.. will make us -to-have auto-suggestion. 3. Frankly, one can never tell that the next "snake" one meets will truly be a "snake!" Maybe there is too much coincidence in your past experience in dealing with people. And broadly, any one of us can fit into easily into any of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. 4. Even in modern Singapore, many people meet each other, be it couples, bus…

Please refer to my earlier forum message. Chinese astrology should be taken on the "lighter sight" and not in the serious grain. For example, that is why, we named our Chinese Astrology with a "fun" url : Lovesigns.net How often do you see any "serious" conversations or messages even in this forum on the talk of "those born on 1953 or 1965 da... da.. da ... da ... da.... So let's try to leave it that way...

Dear Anon, I would advise you to place six coins on the middle beam only. I feel that this would be sufficient. In addition, the higher the beam the better. The rationale is because too much metal is not adviseable. It is best to exercise prudence. Furthermore, I am not sure how is the flying star of the sector/location. Therefore, it is best to apply the "Customer Engineer Concept" of not applying too many `cures' at anyone time. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Sample of Three Coins tied with red string. Common advice: Place it in your wallet Further to those who are new to this forum:- In the past, I have posted the following information: 1. Use the 5 elements concept (Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm ) Under the destructive element: Example 1: If you are a strong metal person, in order for this person to create wealth, he `destroys' the element wood. If you are a strong wood person, by destroying `Earth' you create wealth If you are a strong earth person, by destroying `Water' you create weath etc... Under the above condition, you must be STRONG in order to destroy the element `in-front' t…

1. In my opinion, the biggest mistake of many is that often, missing corners are never over looked while it is often that protrusions are always missed. 2. Thus just try to check to see or confirm the above. 3. Since missing corners may be interpreted differently depending where the missing corner, is. 4. For example. major missing corner at NW may impact on two issues: luck from heaven 2. luck of the breadwinner. 5. Usually if the missing corner makes up to 33.3 percent of the total area, it should be considered as minor missing corner. Thus no further action is needed.

Dear Anon, 1. Frankly a small water feature is nothing more than a "play" thing.. Not effective and often, one becomes a "slave" as this small water fountain is always "thirsty"! Needs to be constantly topped up with water else it goes dry fast! Due to evaporation and air-conditioning drying the water. 2. For a proper water position, best to use Flying Star Feng Shui to determine where is the Water star #8 (current prosperity) star). 3. Similarly, you should determine where is the Mountain Star #8 and the stone can be placed at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi Master Cecil. thank you for your fast reply. I have one more question. I have…
