Dear Chee Kiat, I totally agree with what you had said. 1. In East such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore, we have always learnt that Feng Shui does not depend on highly commercialised products that are produced to satisfy the `demand' and driven by unscrupulous people in the name of " Feng Shui ". 2. When I tried to do a search under the search engines for Feng Shui products; for our friend in Portual; I found several Feng Shui emporiums that have tied in with so called Feng Shui practitioners to help `push' their products. 3. Feng Shui is now so contaminated and commercialised by all these association with material goods which are highly marked up and only to f…

Dear Michael, Michael Chan wrote: I'm very confused and concerned as u can see different periods will affect the way I live and place remedies for the flat. Is there any text or source u can help refer me to for more understanding. I thank you again for your advice. Let me ask you a simple question, are you planning to do a major renovation to your new house or not? If you are, then you do not have to worry to much about what period the house was built in. As you can force the Qi to fly over to the period 8. In fact, this is often the most recommended for older house, simply because the period 6/7 house qi will be fading away anyway. So you won't benefit from it as much…

Happily to say Master, all you mentioned below aren't present with our situation today. At least, we're worry free now and the reverend figures are not offended. Thanks and warm regards, N.L. Lam

Dear Wasis, 1. Under the Eight House Theory, the only thing that we can do is to change the direction of the main door. For example, if the main door is facing North-East (and based on Feng Shui Master's recommendation); this door should change for two reasons:- 1.1. NE (direction) is considered the devil's gate. 1.2. If NE direction is not suitable to the breadwinner. Then, to `kill two birds' within one stone; the main door direction can be changed. (Again, it should be on the advice of a FS practitioner). It is normally not good to give a "wholesale" advise on this matter as a proper audit should be done. And the recommendation "depends" on all the various inputs tha…

Today:- Raymond Xavier (Devil's Advocate): "Young man, what is your reason for a request to transfer to Heaven?" Young man: "I searched the web, and found that I am a weak water person. You know, so much fire in hell, is detrimental to my being a weak water person. Is this reason good enough, Sir?" Raymond Xavier : "Good reason! Transfer him to Heaven! NEXT, please!"

If you are applying Flying Star Feng Shui; then: 1. Best to determine where the most yang qi or "bright areas" or openings. Often, this is the best bet for the "frontage" or as the frontage of the home. 2. If you often slam shut your main entrance door into your apartment; then most likely this should not be the facing direction. 3. If you are into the DIY Feng Shui; then I would use Para 1 as the facing direction. 4. But for those who locally we call it "Kiasu" or "Kiasee" = want to play safe, could draw out a few Flying Stars e.g. one for S2 and for another facing direction. 5. You wrote: "is there a particular remedy I need for the south 8M8W3T" For remedies (not jus…

Dear Debasis, In my opinion, the figurine should be considered more as a decorative piece. Frankly, there is nothing magical with the piece. Personally, I have such a piece (as shown) attached. I personally liked it because, it was made in the early 1930's. It is nice to look at because of his (buddha's) lovely smile and nice to see kids climbing (taking advantage) of him:) As mentioned, we should treat these pieces as interior art pieces. But, if one have such pieces, it is best not to let them face into bedrooms, on the same wall as toilet etc... Otherwise, enjoy! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The more important consideration as you have mentioned is to try avoid having an `L' shape. It is thus better to `break' down the `L' into two square/rectangle shape. It does not really matter here if you have to decide what to call the two `halves'. You can call one the main living room and the other any name. It really does not matter. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Cecil Sorry if I had been a nuisance and posted a stupid question. Do forgive my ignorance. You are right that mothers have alot to worry and perhaps worry unnecessarily. Of course we will try our best to improve our relationships with our children. The only worry is that if bazi is inborn or innate, no matter how hard one tries to be nice and friendly, may not be able to overcome or change the fate. Anyway, thank you very much and grateful for your prompt reply. Best Regards Paris Yahoo! Mobile - Download the latest ringtones, games, and more!

Dear Anon, 1. If there are different `Gods' one should place them with a gap in between the altars. 2. The altar can be on the same level and simply leave a gap e.g. 1 or 2 inches between the `Gods'. Alternatively, another method is to use support to raise the `Gods' and leave them at different levels. The more important `God' should be highest and preferably in the centre of the alter placement. Do note that `raising the level of the Gods is not compulsory but just another consideration (instead of leaving a gap between the figurines). 3. Ideally, these figurines should be displayed `out' of the house. For example, avoid having it face into the bedroom or a toilet. 4.…

Dear Peck Wun, Off-white refers to a colour that is white but has a tinge of grey. Or it can also be considered as white with very light shades of other pigments e.g. red, blue, green or yellow. When one look at off-white colour, it is exactly white but slightly duller white. Many of the new paints are white in colour but when we look it at an angle, it looks more like the e.g. pink. Here, very minimal pink is added to these colours. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Shelley, I glad that you find the site useful. Feel free to use the " Search " feature on most pages of the website or for specific messages, login to this forum, there is also a Search icon. This is one of the most easiest way to search through the vast amounts of information available in this website. To answer your question: 1. The correct Romanized words for Feng Shui is : " Feng Shui ". The rest of the spelling are not proper way to write Feng Shui. 2. For more about the North-South debate go to this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/addsites.htm#SOUTH In general, most Feng Shui practioners (Traditional Schools) like myself believe that you do not need to alter …

Dear Cer, In my applied Feng Shui book, there are three formulas that can be used to calculate the Qua number accurately. And they are applicable even if the date of birth is under year 2000 and more. You should use the website's free computerised software to check your Qua number which I feel is accurate. Ref: http://www.geomancy-online.com (Under the Free Eight House Report). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Francis, francis wan wrote: Thanks for the advice ,I will try to shift the bed direction to avoid the beam &bathroom door for better results Yes, if you can avoid the beam it will be good. The bathroom is quite a common issue, so it really does not matter as much. Just keep it close when not using. This should be enough. Hope that helps. These are some considerations:- 1. Flying Star Feng Shui: 1.1. Flying Star Feng Shui can be classified under "Horizontal" Flying Star Feng Shui and "Vertical" Flying Star Feng Shui. 1.2. Horizontal Flying Star Feng Shui is to find where is the frontage and plot the 9 grid or the pie chart and analyse a home or office or building or plot of land. 1.3. Vertical Flying star: assumes that each level or storey of a home has different qi influence. Thus that is why flats/apartments can use this Flying Star Feng Shui as in #01-32 is different from the qi of #12-32 etc... 2. If you are looking at landed properties and number; then this has more to do with the hundreds and or thou…

Dear Anon, 1. I believe it is difficult to alter the height of the fish tank. This is because, most fish tanks plus the supporting legs are high. Thus the fish tank is usually at eye level. 2. The fish tank is thus more for the hobbyist rather than activating the `water star'. 3. The water star if one gets the meaning correctly means a flat surface. More like a water position such as a pond (not stagnant) or a swimming pool. 4. Another secret ingredient, is "sound". If one has stayed in a condominum or own a koi pond with a fountain, you can hear the movement of water sometimes even when you close the door. 5. For decorattive purposes, it is quite ugly to place the fish t…

Dear Kelly, Yes, although it would be better to look at pictures, from your description, your house looks or rather sounds Ok to me. For off-site audit, I personally handle the all off-site audits. In many of the off-site audits, many of our clients either fax us and/or if they need urgent responses can use reliable courier services such as FedEX and DHL. So far, many of our US clients use FedEX - which has benn proven to be very good. Or if one is not in a hurry sent the information thru snail mail i.e. postal service. Which has a turnaround time of just one or two working days. Alternatively, scanned images or scan layout are equally acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned earlier: 1. In fact, you have brought up another good example of spotting the " fake " Feng Shui. 2. Calling it " fake " is extreme. However, the more accurate word is: TOO GENERAL to be of use to most of us. 3. In many of the old forum messages: I have given examples of why Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations or Life Association concepts are TOO GENERAL to be of use to anyone. 4. For example, the most common words are: South-West is my romance sector. North is my career sector. 5. Do search for these terms and read thru some of the messages on these concepts. 6. What is more important to each of us is to try and use concepts that can wor…

Dear Bansari, Bansari shah wrote: We have same wooden beam in my kids room too. which one works better 1) bamboo flute or 2) wooden support. Thanks for your advice. Bansari Generally, these are the two common ways to cure the beam problem. Both are equally effective. So can't tell you which is better. However, from design point of view the two wooden support looks less like feng shui cure and can add some decorative effect. However, if you really want the most effective method would be to build a false ceiling. From feng shui point of view, if you can no longer see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. So really, the most effective is to build a false ceiling to co…

These are further clarifications: 1. Shapes like what you had posted, is a good candidate for trying to get the area of protusion close to missing area(s). 2. Here, please take note that the area of protusion NEED not necessarily be the actual protusion. 3. For example, using judgement; the missing area can be as large as (you want) and the protusion can be as little or as much as you "want". 4. Ultimately, what one wants to achieve here is that as far as possible, the missing areas should match that of a protusion. As in my example. 5. Unlike a recent posting asking me to find the centrepoint (centre-of-gravity) - where I mentioned that there is a long passageway and th…

1. You wrote: I have read where purple and green should not be used in the kitchen this year 2. Even when applying Feng Shui; geomancers usually would look at the 20 Year Flying Star of the apartment and access the colours (if any to avoid). 3. But your statement seems so either short-sighted or impratical. 4. To most people reading it; it can sound like you either gona renovate or change the colours yearly or really don't know what to say... 5. From a general Feng Shui perspective, for the kitchen one colour that should generally be avoided is BLUE colour e.g. blue laminated kitchen cabinets. As blue belong to the Water element and may clash with the stove position. 6…
