Dear Anon, Ideally, as you have correctly mentioned, the dead tree should be removed. However, I can certainly sympathise with your plight. The dead tree creates quite a yin imbalance. As I do not know more of your personal information, you can try to use metal above the window to neutralise the `dead tree'. Here what you can do is:- 1. Get hold of a red packet or ang pow packet. If you do not have one, a red rectangular paper (approximately around 130mm by 65 to 70 mm) and place six coins (you can use scotch tape to tape the coins 3 coins each side (flat) on the paper. Hang it at the mid-point above the window. 2. The Big metal of 6 coins is used to destroy the wood el…

Dear Wasis, If the tree is still alive: 1. Check for any evidence of `roting' or decay. If e.g a branch had decayed and part of the branch breaks leaving part of the broken branch hanging like a `poison' arrow; make sure that this `arm' or branch gets "amputated" as soon as possible. *JOKE* Seriously, if one stands at the main entrance and facing out of the house, if the broken branch `act's like a knife cutting thru the house, then, cut off this branch as close as possible to the tree trunk. 2. On a regular basis, if the roots are visible, check if it is hollow / if possible the tree truck also with some solid object. If it sounds `empty', decay could have set in. I do n…

Dear Regina, Thank you for your file attachment of your bedrom. Yes, looks like the current arrangement is OK. Since, there are two sets of windows and your bed is further away from the bedroom door. The windows behind the bed: ========================== Often, this is commonsense than Feng Shui. But since Feng Shui works on commonsense, it applies: since, we may never know, who may peep on us, from behind. It is nice to have, the bed head, suit your Eight House. Yes, priority should go to "destroy" #5, first. In some instances, Fire can still be used. But often, if it is #2. For #5, where earth keeps on accumulating, a fire cure may not be feasible since, as yo…

Dear Catherine, 1. Overall, the concept of condominiums is considered by standards "pretty new". 2. The earliest adoption of pools in estates can be derived more from hotels. And in Singapore, this is only become popular (due to affluence) in the last 20 years. 3. Therefore, there are not much case studies to say for sure whether, the effects of a water position that you mentioned in a high rise may or may not lead to `roving eye'. I.e. frankly, we cannot say for sure if this is going to happen (in majority of the cases). As no one has fully looked at this situation. And as we are all aware, as relationships are private nature, no one would be willing to share their exp…

Dear Vijay, I recommend that you take a three step approach: 1. What is the purpose of each concept? 2. What is it's strengths? 3. What is it's weakness? If the above is clearly understood, there is no issue in understanding what is 8 directions/Eight House vs Pillars of destiny (Ba Zi). There are already lots of replies to such related questions. Please do a SEARCH and try to figure out the above:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Thanks for the reply Master Lee. I am not very sure about the way to find out the 8 mansions direction for the bedrooms in my house. Could you tell me how to go about finding out the 8 mansions direction for the 2 bedrooms in my house, or can you direct me to an online resource for doing so? Simply find out where is the center of the house and North direction. Then with the eight house chart, simply superimpose the chart where the North direction is to the home. The sectors where the home falls under the Eight House will be the influence suitability of that sector for that person. This resource should be able to guide you on it:- URL: h…

Dear Anon, Overall, the home should be kept `bright' as opposed to dark (or darkness). Most of the time, "advise" provided would focus more on `interior' decoration and how each person (can be the individual or the FS practitioner) percieve about how sectors of the house can be `decorated'. Keep the basics correct such as good shapes and form, first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Fenger, In our Traditional Chinese custom, usually when there is a death in the family, most people will not wish to hold any marriage at least not after 100 days. It is generally considered inauspicious to do so. The actual length of period that most people will avoid having a marriage in the family really depends on your own traditional believes / superstitions. There are some people who will avoid having a marriage for a year, some even 3 years. So it is very difficult to put an actual figure as to the actual length that you must have before any marriage is held. It all depends on the individual. This has more to do with Chinese Believes and Supersitions. Take th…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Feng Shui is all about maximizing one's luck. If one use it correctly or use a combination of the various tools / principles / concepts correctly, it would help to boost luck in majority of areas. Thus, reducing the percentage of `inauspiciousness' at the main door. Although a house has to fit the owners /breadwinner/tenant, if one has already stayed in it or made a commitment in it already, there is not much one can do here but as mentioned in the earlier paragrah to try and maximize luck in other areas. In authentic Feng Shui, there are two ways about placing a water feature outside of the house:- 1.1 Under the conference: Phot…

Hi, There is only one additional thing you can do to help reduce this problem is to ensure that the bedroom which your husband stay's should be one of the good sectors of the Eight House. This will at least help to offset the problems of the unsuitablility of the house. However, the long terms solution is still to move out of the house as this house no matter how good the Flying Star is will not bring great wealth to your husband. Anyway, since you are not sure whether the main door is South-East (112.5 to 157.4 degree) or South (157.5 to 202.4 degree). Use the degree's provided to verify if your main door is South or South-East. Use a compass from somewhere at the ce…

Dear Sir: I have a question that stems from complete confusion so please forgive me. My husband and I just purchased a house that is to be built this year. The great thing is, we are both house compatible, I'm north he's south (Kan and Li) My distress is this; our master bedroom (S.W.) is in my death and his irritation direction. The headboard will be in an east direction and no mirrors will be in the room. How do I cure this? I was especially careful in selecting the right house, this is the only room which is a problem. The other less desirable rooms are toilets and garages which will be closed to the rest of the house. My confusion is that of activating our best direct…

Dear Simon, Don't worry about it. I understand that you are very young and not the bread winner (not yet I guess). For you, empasis should be placed in your bedroom. One important consideration under Feng Shui is that your Ba Zhi (Eight Characters), for example, the colours of the room should not `clash' with your personal element. You can also take advantage of the Eight House Theory i.e. sleep and study facing one of your good directions. Wishing you continued success in your studies! Dear Sharon, Please see below:- In my opinion, in a small room although technically speaking one can still divide the room into 8 sectors but from my past experience, the influence of the 8 divisions is very small or minute. As compared with the eight sectors in a larger setting e.g. a full apartment. Already, the Eight House is not a greater `scorer' of marks. And in my opinion, such a sub-division adds to or has minimal effects. It is best to still keep the bed within good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Frankly and honestly, under Eight House, there is currently not much one can do to help in such a situation. Warmset Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm a gua 7 that makes the east a death sector. However star 6 is metal, 1 is water, and under bazi I'm strong fire. Is it as bad for me? Death sector is the worst of the 4 bad direction under the eight house. The East sector of the house is Wood element. as a Strong Fire, wood only makes you stronger, thus is considered again a unfavourable suitability. So it means that you are entirely not suited for any bedroom or facing direction of a house that is East. The flying star of the bedroom isn't too bad. However, as long as your bedroom is unsuitable, no matter how good the luck of the room, you will simply not be able to benefit from it. Ano…

Dear Chris, 1. In addition to looking the Eight House of your child, do remember to see that especially the location of the bed is in a `good' position. For example, it should not be seen directly from the bedroom door or the headrest of the bed is at the window. There are some materials on this at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/theory.htm 2. Avoid overhead beams and any poison arrows such as sharp corners pointing to any part of the bed. 3. You mentioned that the death or disaster lines are `almost' in the middle of the rooms. There is a really not much you can do. Where possible, let them sleep closer to a more `favourable' intangible force. Under the Eight House Theory,…

Dear "Robert Lee" Tks for reply. It's make my day. My apologise, actually the facing of the house is North according to House Gua chart Longevity. Direction of the door NE is disaster and moreover Devil's Gate. Please correct me again. If North facing, South should be sitting. In another word the house gua is 9 Li Gua.When superimpose the breadwinner, personal gua (SW - Kun2) North facing show Death and NE direction (main door) Prosperity. Do I focus more on the house plan with the House Gua.Or either both the facing and direction should suitable to the breadwinner. A bit of confuse here. Bazi - breadwinner weak water. As North facing house is Water house, in another word…

Dear Anon, Before, I go into the question, just to let you know that you do need to post a few messages in the forum. As this forum is moderated to ensure 100 percent `flame free', your message will appear on the forum once it is reviewed. The rationale is because at the last count there are at least 7,000 users listening in to the forum and we cannot afford to have a inconsiderate flamer or spammer on this forum. To answer your question: 1. Under the Eight House Theory, if the deathline falls on the main entrance door, this is considered the most " unsuitable " house for the `breadwinner'. 2. Other considerations under the Eight House Theory is that under condition 1, …

Further to what I had mentioned earlier, to-date, I personally feel therefore that the color of a main door is not going to make any major difference. This is why, majority of doors are in wood tones or wood tone colors. What is more important is the external shapes and forms as well as Shapes and forms plus other factors other than simply the door color. This includes the number of steps etc... Frankly, even if one is a rat, a dog, a snake, a rooster, oops! a duck! or a chicken; there is no link between a fish tank and a Horse. The only link is that a rat's worst pairing is a Horse: http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/areference/craho.htm You may have to apply other Feng Shui techniques or if Feng Shui techniques are too far off; then, go by the gut or feel (feelings).

Dear Susan, We have to see it from two perspectives: 1. If we do not relate it to Feng Shui concepts, simply choose a neutral color like white or a color that you feel that would look good at this sector. 2. Under Feng Shui, we study each person's element and strength plus the house chart and then `select' a colour scheme for the sector. Usually, most of the time, like in Para 1, a neutral color like white or pastel or light shades of a color onto white is ok. We also have to use a common sense approach. Here, check to see the lighting in the home. If there is always natural light, it would be nice to keep the home `naturally' bright and again a neutral color would be nic…

Dear Nicole, Please read below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: Listmanager To: Sent: Friday, July 02, 1999 3:55 AM Subject: Decorating You can use the computerized Five Element Cure module to generate a report for all your elements and destructive influences. Just create an account at http://www.geomancy-online.com. I am assuming that your element is weak water, so what is beneficial to you is metal. Earth is also beneficial (produces metal which in turn produces water) but does give a slight side effect (because earth also destroys water). I suggest that you make use of the online report as it also gives you the details of items and colours associated wit…
