  1. This iconic 1950's bungalow will soon be torn down. (Upper Serangoon Road / Kovan area) The bungalow is sitting on around 10,000 sq ft of land. And the land will be developed into a small private condo/private estate. The only think that I can't truly figure out are the two iconic figurines on each of the pillars. The iconic figurines are: 1. Green in colour 2. Maybe highly eroded... 3. From a glance it looks like a well endowed (blow) fish or at certain angles look like a chubby pig... 4. Or some sort of a petal design of a fruit or sorts : or even look like a variant of a mangoosten with a papaya body... You figure it out....
  2. The store continues to thrive, even with a prominent column positioned right in the middle of its storefront. The owner or tenant has strategically placed a ba gua mirror directly across from the column, utilizing the external pillar to showcase merchandise. This clever tactic serves as a unique selling point, drawing in customers and enhancing the overall feng shui of the space. It is a smart move that sets this shop apart from others in the area
  3. I dare you:- IF IT DOES'NT TASTE GOOD, TELL US. IF IT DOES, TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
  4. There are strange signs. In some places.. there are even stranger signs.... How about "No begging" please?
  5. In my opinion, from a Feng Shui point of view; the general consensus is that: 1. If the main entrance door is either neutral (pastel as in light colours) and another neutral colour is wood or wood tone or brown. 2. If your main door colours are of the above; then generally, it is no major issue. Also no issue are grilles that are : black + gold and silver or again light colours like cream orwhite or silver. 3. But if you door or grille have any of the primary colours: e.g. BRIGHT YELLOW, BRIGHT RED ORBLUE;then best to check out the Flying star chart numbers at that sector(main door). IN SUMMARY " From a Feng Shui perspective, a main entrance door in neutral colors or wood tones is generally acceptable, while the presence of bright primary colors may warrant further examination using the Flying Star chart for that area. 6. Another recently TOP condo. Notice the swimming pool on 1st level overlooking the entrance / guard room?
  7. In 2012,Chinese 7th month starts on 17 Aug 2012 (Fri) and ends on 15 Sep 2012 (Sat). Mad rush in recently T.O.P. condo at Caspian.... to collect keys before the start of Chinese 7th month...
  8. The Lucky Cat with an arm waving (thanks to the battery operated hand) originated from Japan. Nowadays, like the attached photos; it is now placed on top of a Chinese offering.... Talk about globalisation and internationalization..
  9. Rambutans bear fruits around the autumn season i.e. in July and plentiful until August, September... Whenever, we see lots of rambutans in season; this is close to the Chinese 7th month...
  10. At an existing construction site for a newly under construction condominium project; this developer has a systematic helmet colour code to identify job functions..... Huh? there is also a helmet colour code to identify a geomancer also? Is this for real?
  11. Note: Chinese 7th month starts on 17 Aug 2012 (Fri) and ends on 15 Sep 2012 (Sat). 1. This "thing" about Chinese 7th month has more to do with either beliefs and to some extend superstitions. 2. The main contention is that it is believed that during the Chinese 7th month, ghosts are let out to wander around on earth during this period. 3. These are some considerations and many questions were asked about: Q3.1. Can I start renovations before Chinese 7th month and continue during Chinese 7th month? A3.1. Yes, based on common sense and logic; Yes, one can happily do so. Why? Assuming that prior to 7th month, renovations started, no wandering spirit would ever come and live in such a uncompleted or run-down or messy home. And like human beings; we shun or prefer if given the choice not to stay in a home that is messy, undergoing renovations, loud unbearable noises and dust. Q3.2. Can I start renovations during Chinese 7th month? A3.2. Again, logically, best not to do so. If in the rare occurance that a wandering spirit has visited your home and stay there during the duration of 7th month, starting renovations during Chinese 7th month may anger the spirit. (Here, assuming you believe that there is such a thing as a wandering spirit who may happen to like your home). 4. Back to your question. Based again on the above logic and common sense. And in addition: do you believe in wandering spirits or NOT? 4.1. If you totally don't believe in such things as wandering spirits; then carry on bring in the stuffs into your new home. 4.2. If one steers to the cautious side; then based on the above logic, if one were to bring in all the comforts of a home; hopefully the "thing" or "spirit" don't go and like your home and stay there... 5. Thus what I mentioned above; can be analysed or using logic and common sense to see what if or again, if one does not believe in such things... skip this thread TOTALLY. There is no art or science, here.. Just either spooky stuffs or beliefs or superstitions...
  12. 1. Please note that Chinese 7th month starts on 17 Aug 2012 (Fri) and ends on 15 Sep 2012 (Sat). 2. Chinese hate it when they have to decide whether to go into their brand new apartments between this period 17 August to 15 September. 3. Every year, there will always be some condos that had TOP just a few weeks prior to this date. Not enough time for all owners to receive their keys before than....
  13. This white chair found in a certain coffee shop chain in Singapore is highly unstable. Often, I would see people either sit and nearly flip over at the sides of the chair. The major flaw is that the two side wings is elongated and if one is not careful, one can tip over much like a see-saw...
  14. One can find many odd ornaments on the dashboard of various vehicles in Singapore. Today, had spotted this "unusual" tropy on a dashboard of a panel van... Hmm.. make a guess what it means?
  15. Here are some considerations. 1. Please refer to attached photo: 1.1. Marking "A" is the house on the left side. While Marking A1 is the fencing of house A. 1.2. Marking "B" is the house on the right side. While Marking B1 shows the house B having a concrete wall. 2. This ONE-WAY street has two lanes: One lane for vehicles turning left. And another lane for vehicles turning to the right. 3. Both houses avoided their main gate directly facing the straight path of the one-way street. 4. The red dotted line is the imaginary line if a vehicle could have loss control and veer into either homes. 5. Overall, house B did a great job by placing the concrete high wall. House A ain't also bad if we consider that it does not have the main gate at this location; also. 6. Thus in general, although both homes are considered at a T-Junction: 6.1. Since this is a one-way street with two lanes; with traffic flowing towards them; both homes are considered as facing a T-junction. 6.2. If the above is not the case AND it is a two-way street, and in Singapore = right hand drive; then house B would not be affected by a T-junction. As vehicles would not turn "towards" house B direction.
  16. Pretty recently renovated Hawker Centre & Market..... If you know that the tiles are would become slippery when wet; then why install it in the first place?
  17. The Tioh Hin Cho Temple along Langsat Road
  18. Planting of cactus tree in a compound is also based on common sense. Most homes plant cactus tree(s) at "exposed" corners or backyard to deter would be thieves to climb into the home.
  19. Vs a house directly opposite it; also with uncovered drainage but mostly with an open drainage...
  20. Under the water classics; a geomancer can access whether drainage on the side of a home is inauspicious or not. If one does not engage a geomancer; one can erect a wall such that inside the property cannot seen the open drainage, flow...
  21. More photos of this unfortuante restaurant...
  22. 1. By coincidence, many times, I passed by this restaurant in Marina Square. 2. Each time, I commented to myself.. when is it going to close? 3. In several of the photos, one can see that thehuge support column right smack at the frontage of this restaurant. 4. Don't get me wrong that I am nick picking on this restaurant chain or group.Again by coincidence, they have chosen a wrong location for their restaurant.
  23. Mlore and more led lights
