Post Chinese 7th Month Ge-tai
🎭 Ge-tai as community entertainment: The page highlights how people gather to watch entertainers perform during the 7th Month, a tradition that blends ritual offerings with lively stage shows. It’s a fascinating mix of reverence and revelry. 🪑 Empty chairs with offerings: Organizers often set up long tables with empty chairs, each accompanied by a cup of tea or even tins of canned food. These are symbolic seats reserved for spirits, reflecting the belief that the departed join the festivities. 👘 Period costumes and rehearsals: Performers sometimes rehearse in traditional costumes during the day before the evening shows, underscoring the theatrical and ceremonial aspects of Ge-tai. 🌅 Linked to everyday life: The author even mentions stopping for breakfast at Changi Point before heading to a Feng Shui audit, showing how Ge-tai events are woven into daily routines and professional practices. 🏮 Cultural continuity: These celebrations are not just entertainment—they’re part of a broader ritual cycle tied to the Hungry Ghost Festival, where honoring spirits and ancestors is central. +++ These people are waiting for entertainers performing on-stage for the Chinese 7th month ... Two most well known Compass makers
The above link shows a sample full brass compass which I found to be much better than the Suunto brand compasses. Even the Suunto compasses needles are very sensitive. For information, I no longer used these "high-tech" compasses. But prefer to "low-tech" brass-ship type of compasses. As mentioned in the above link.

Accurate Compass readings?
I believe the key success factor is the thick brass rim. See attached. It is this thick brass rim plus the thick base is what shields the sensitive and vulnerable steel needle from interfering with an accurate reading.
