Please refer to your questions (below):- Q1 : Not found under Traditional Feng Shui. The fixed bagua template: Knowlege/Education area = a modern invention. No basis under Traditional Feng Shui models. Q2 : Generally no major concern other than if you intend to use especially colours like: BRIGHT RED, BRIGHT YELLOW or BRIGHT GREEN. Then, try to get a proper Feng Shui audit done to assess whether can or cannot use such colors. Q3 and Q4 : No too homes are the same. You may wish to consider get a Feng Shui audit done. Such as advise on where to place a fish tank. Quote: Will the extension extend our Knowledge/Education area or will we be creating missing Money/Wealth, Family/Health areas and if so, what could we do to remedy this? 2) Are there any particular flooring or building materials we should use? 3)Are there any colours we should use in our new rooms? 4) Could we have a fish tank somewhere in the new building?

1. I don't want to add to the confusion, but, if you are born on June 5th 1988 (no difference between male or female); You are considered as a : Strong Metal person. And in the attached layout plan, (Male) ; this person is strongest in Earth 48 percent; Extremely weak metal only 4 percent and weak wood 12 percent. (This can be found under the topic " Your Five Element Breakdown). Note: above refers to Male: born on June 5th 1988. Quote: Mon D. wrote: Good day, Sirs. I have a 2 questions: 1. How does one find out weather he or she is more of the yin or yang? 2. Does the month, time, day, and year you were born play a factor in determining your element? I was born in June 5th 1988, and according to research i am under the earth element. However, according to other "experts" i am wood. There seems to be a slight thing ive missed. Warmest Thanks.

Yes, traditionally all Ba Gua mirrors were placed e.g. above a door or window to deflect sha qi. Thus, it is strongly recommended that ALL BAGUA mirrors are to be hanged facing out-of one's home. The two major rationale are: A ba gua mirror is considered "too extreme" to be placed inside a home. In the early 1980's some sites were selling ba gua mirrors or even "designer" ba gua mirrors and they were not told not to place inside the home. Secondly, from my earlier message(s), these mirrors are used for certain reasons. So imagine how to place it inside the home.

1. Yes, what you had mentioned is true! Even today - especially the Chinese are not immune to this! Many share the same fate with regards to filia piety issues! 2. It is a "pity" that I feel that for some of us, if we could reverse the time, may consider having a large family. Here, there is a "higher" probability that one not only "hope" for at least one or some children - to look after us or we could still stay on our own but may not worry as much with day to day finances as there is a higher chance with so many children! 3. In fact, I have seen more cases of daughters providing for or being closer to their parents then sons! As you had mentioned.. most likely cannot blame having a son; as when he grows up, he has lots of mouths to feed: his home financing, family, children, both parents and parents-in-laws! Quote: Anonymous wrote: With all pressure/competitiveness exerted on our younger generation as well as when the external influences are now have more impact than what the parents can influence their children, can we still rely on this luck from the children? From the media, we have learned about all the unpleasantexperiences faced by parents from their unfilial children, this is thus thereason why I raise this doubt. Will like to know your view on this.

Thanks for the pictures and additional information. Based on your description, your ba gua "purpose" is suppose to "ward off " bad luck (evil spirits). That's all. Many makers of ba gua, choose the Early (First Heaven) sequence ba gua. Thus as mentioned previously, it has no additional function unlike those with the concave or convex mirror. The only other thing is that long time ago, it is common to see a "greenish" looking ba gua. Nowadays, majority are "yellowish" or yours could just be a plastic facade simply showing the 8 ba gua trigrams.

1. Frankly, it is crucial if we were to work out the formula - for Feng Shui "9 palace" or also known as Flying star Feng Shui for the interior of the home. 2. It is very common to use the First Heaven Sequence or Early sequence ba gua "mirror". 3. Under Photo Tours of Interest (with photos) in this forum website, one can find lots of photos of different types of ba gua "mirror". 4. In general, a ba gua has three major uses:- 4.1. Some use it to "ward" of evil spirits from the home 4.2 Deflect sha qi or poison arrow 4.3. To suck wealth 5. The type of mirror you had mentioned with the ba gua symbols are suppose to ward off evil. Usually this type of ba gua mirror has a "charm diagram" written behind it. This type of ba gua, often may have a "Chi ling" (qi lin) - lion type of face in the middle or combined with a mirror in the middle. Some of these ba gua's may even have a set of door guards on each side of it. 6. Type of mirrors (usually found in the middle of the ba gua) OR on it's own:- 6.1ConVEXmirrors Used to deflect sha qi or poison arrows. 6.2 Flat mirror Flat mirrors with ba gua symbols usually is meant to ward offevil spirits. 6.3 ConCAVE mirrors BECAREFUL! If your neighbour place such a mirror facing your main door, it is meant to suck wealth. Anonymous wrote: It so happens thatmy parents bought a bagua many yrs ago and now facing my main door. Based on the arrangement of the trigrams, the bagua represents that of the earlybagua format. May I know will there be any difference in its effectiveness/functions if the bagua is a later bagua arrangement?

1. In the past, I had mentioned that we should adopt a holistic "examination" approach to"luck" and Feng Shui. 2. As you are aware, it is nearly impossible to re-locate the toilet. If so, we should instead try to "maximize" luck or neutralise futher issues (poison arrows) from other areas. 3. For example, if we are asked to answer say 4 questions out of ten within 2 hours time period. Thus, a good teacher will always remind the student to try to answer all four questions and set a limit of hour-an-hour per question. 4. Same, here, even if you want to crack your head over the wall for the toilet at the centrepoint issue, one is wasting one's time. 5. Some "minor" cures include: closing the toilet door when not in use and some place a mirror outside of the toilet door. In my opinion, especially the "mirror" thing is not exactly a good cure.

1. Technically, the best directions and meanings:- 1.1 Excellent : In general it refers to the best direction especially if it is the main door facing direction. Can also be a good direction for work or study. 1.2 Prosperity: Ideally, the best facing direction for work or study. 1.3 Generally, Health and Longevity are often the best facing direction for bed-head. 2. However, as abedroom or home is quite small, often,"facing" oneof these four directions is consdiered good-enough! 3. Traditonally, it should be taken from the centrepoint of areasonablesized home. And unlessone's home is like a palace where the bedroom is as large as an ordinary apartment, we should take from the centrepoint. 4. If you want to, you can still take the reading from the middle of the bedroom - if as mentionedit is pretty large bedroom. But if your bedroom is e.g. less than 600 sq, then suggested, take reading from centrepoint of the home. Quote:Terry Y. wrote: There is this Excellent amongst other Good, Prosperity or Health Positions. Excellent meaning the best of all? Also when we determine the direction e.g. 247.5 to 292.4 Description: This is your Longevity, does this mean we take the compass reading again in the centre of the bedroom or the sector chart taken initially from the centre of the house?

Honestly, if you have taken a photo or managed to write it down, could have helped you to interpret the Chinese characters. Otherwise, it is anyone's guess. 1. So sorry, this site does not use the "Fixed Template" type of "thing"."Thing" as I cannot can it Feng Shui. There are five steps down, a landing with a full sized window facing north, and then..turning right... eight steps down into the basement. Do I treat it with colors and cures as the Marriage/Relationship area? Or, do I treat it as a missing part of the house?

1. Plastics are derived from petro-chemicals. Petro-chemicals is considered a "chemical" or fire element. But if the plastic is hardened like "poly-carbite" it can be considered as metal element. Much like glass or tempered glass is generally considered as metal - because of it's harden properties - if we consider the material. But, if platic(s) is molded or can be molded or injected into a wavy form then based on just the shape or profile, it can be considered as a water element. 2. Please note that if all these sounds confusing, but yet logical, then as the common saying goes: " An item can be all things to all differentpersons". 3. Cane furniture with metal frame In real life, "Variety is the spice of life"? Heard of this? For example, life will be sooo..soooo.. boring if everything we see, feel or touch is only strictly two tones: Ivory or Ebony (White or black). Life is a harmonious combination usually of two or more elements: Your example is something like things we never see into. For example, the ceiling or beam supporting a concrete building, much like your metal frame, the opposite, here isthat many of us are not aware that all concrete beams have steel frames wrapped to support it! Thus, it is much like your perhaps exposed frame supporting the wooden cabinets? see the resemblance? 4. Even for any job or work, although we may have a specific goal e.g. Marketing or Sales person. In this modern world of multi-skilling, he still has to perform other work functions e.g. filling in forms, photo copying, using his motor skills to drive etc... Anonymous wrote: Dear Mr Cecil Lee or Mr Robert Lee These are very short questions: 1.In relation to Plastic (which a lot of modern day items are made out of) - whichelement is plasticconsidered? 2. Also another curious thing I've been thinking about is when a furniture has 2 elements (say wood and metal) for instance which element do you count as the main one? (For instance I have three drawers made out of cane but what keeps it all together is a metal frame). Kind regards Mary Sydney, Australia

1. Frankly, one should not be too unduly concerned about bunk beds, for the following reasons:- 1.1 If we sleep under a bunk bed, one will notice that it is a a large flat piece above us - usually spring and mattress. 1.2 Compare this to a real beam. A real beam is a concentrated piece, usually a supporting beam for a column or structure of a home. It is this concentred beam (usually concrete mixture with supporting steel structure) OR it could be a large wooden beam. 2. For those constantly seating or sleeping under Para 1.2 , should be concerned with. 3. Bunk beds have been around for many (many) years. And as you have mentioned Hong Kong and even in Singapore, those with "large" families and even those with small homes do get to sleep on a bunk bed. 4. More so, for those who live in domitires especially students living overseas school boarding house. Many of these students, had graduated "despite" sleeping on such beds. So what does this tell us? It cannot be that those sleeping on bunk beds, will have poor school results or worse still "distorted" brains etc.... 5. Thus, in my opinion, it should be considered as a "myth" and not a norm. I believe, bunk beds, have been around for at least more than half a century or at least 50 or more years! 6. Frankly, in Singapore, many of us serve our country's army core and all our army barrack have bunk beds. Does it mean that half or those sleeping on bunk beds... later have some .... screws loose... Quote: Maria Alicia S. wrote: Hello. I have just signed in as a member of your site. I am very interested in practicing feng shui in my life. Actually I have just started reading about it. First and foremost I want to fix is my kid's bedroom. But I have a lot of questions regarding this. Is it really bad feng shui to use a bunkbed or double deck bed? I have 2 kids and I live in HongKong and as you know space is quite limited. Is there any cure for bunkbeds? If so what are these? Can you give me more advice for kid's bedroom? Thank you very much.

Feel free to use the auspicious or combined auspiciousdate(s) report found under this link:- Either: dates.geomancy.net or this url: date.geomancy.net (Do not add http:// or www to the above) The link provides a 30 days overview of all the auspicious dates. 1. Please check out this link: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2008.htm 2, The closest to what you are asking is based on the Grand Duke concept:- Grand Duke this year is North, 0 Degree. - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations Here the concept is based on planet Jupiter which is consdered to be majority of the time at North O degrees. 3. For other luck, can try to activate Mountain Star #8 in a home.

1. Traditional Feng Shui uses both Shapes and Forms and Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. Since your "Shapes and Forms" is always changing on a ship, logically this concept does not apply to a moving ship. 3. In addition, on a moving ship, compass direction(s) is always changing, equally, Compass School, does not apply. 4. At the higher level is the Yin and Yang concept. Thus this is the most relevant i.e. when time for sleep, see if your home on the ship is cosy enough. And in the day-time usually during work, you should be on the ship's deck or command centre?

1. Although, if you go for a full ba zi analysis, it will tell significantly your 'traits' and types of career - this is only a general comment. 2. Usually, go for your feel. And in business; much has to do with the business model .... Quote: Anonymous wrote: I am a wood dragon. Born in 30/4/1964. I opened an internet cafe but business is very slow. 1. The holistic method is to maximize the three main luck factors: 1.1. Heaven Luck - the question you asked lies within this area 1.2 Earth Luck - Feng Shui of your home and even office surroundings 1.3 Man or Human Luck 2. What you had mentioned earlier that your five element breakdown shows that you have zero water, zero wood etc... this is often "corrected" by some parents or grand parent going to a geomancy to try to get a CHINESE name balanced to or harmonised to the person. As you are aware some people change their name later part of their life perhaps as their parent did not have the luxury of checking out one for them earlier in life. 3.For a strong yin metal, knowing this helps in situations like, which home is favourable to the person based on Ba zi analysis, good colours for the home, even colour of car can be considered, here. 4. In general the above are the more common senarios where one can take advantage off. Otherwise, have to depend more on other types of luck: Feng Shui of the home and Man or Human luck factors... Quote: a strong yin metal. My five element breakdown is as follows: Water - 0 (0%) Wood - 0 (0%) Fire - 3 (38%?) Earth - 1 (13?) Metal - 4 (50%?) It would seem that my favorable elements are: Water and Fire and unfavorable ones are Earth and Metal.

1. I am not going to go into all the nitty gritty details. 2. As you have read and understood that a kitchen especially a stove at NW = "Fire at Heaven's gate". 3. In addition, some books will say that based on the "current" trigram, HW = Heaven hexagram or "Heaven's Luck". 4. Thus having a stove at NW will affect Para 2 and 3. (Full-stop).

Furthermore, changing a name does not truly help if one is not going to use THAT Chinese name. For example, if the person was found to have a suitable Chinese name : Yi Zhen but all your life you are called or known as Dirty Harry, then it does not make a difference if you change your name to Yi Zhen nor thru deed poll on official document. Your friends will still call you "Dirty Harry"!
-
1. Traditionalname analysis based on the Five elements concept is based on the strokes of mandarin characters (Chinese Big 5 character - not short form).... andthat each Chinese character can be classified as under each of the five elements. 2. There is NO precedence where each English word can be classified under each of the five elements. Usually, the authentic method is to find a good Chinese name. And convert the name to pin yin. (Not the other way around). 3. Likewise, there is no authentic basis for a business to check that it's English name is in order. But rather, authentic name analysis can only be done with typically all Chinese set of letters.

Further to what I had mentioned, below, please click the attachment below for a graphic illustration of what I meant. Cecil L. wrote: 1. There is a more accurate method: either or both: using the Street directory (of any country) AND/OR google map. 2. All proper street directories are read : Vertical = North or zero degrees and bottom is 180 degrees. 3. All Google maps also have vertical = North and bottom 180 degrees South. 4 Usually, if one can zoom in to the closest zoom under google, one ca even see the outline of say your apartment. Once you can determine the outline or know distinctly which road it faces, you can use a protractor align it to the North-South and then determine where the unit is location.

1. Recently, I was tasked to do a town planning (severalthousand ha) for a third-world country. For such a large size, Shapes and Form Feng Shui is the first consideration. 2. It is not true that Flying Star applies only to "after" built up. Locally, many Singaporeans, get us to either do a major Additions and alternation works (A & A). And Flying Star is used widely especially to determine: where qi comes into the home or tap good qi; "lock up" bad qi etc.... 3. In past forum messages, Flying Star chart is like a pie, it can it be a small one or extended out towards the properties marker line or zone. 4. For a plot of land, even if we use Flying star, Shapes and Forms must still be considered at every stage. For example: is it feasible to have the main door changed? 5. Both 8 Mansions (Eight House) and Flying Star belongs to the same Compass School Feng Shui. And the basic understanding is that Flying Star takes into account time dimension. While 8 Mansions does not consider time dimension. 6. Thus, applying Flying Star appropriately can being significant benefit or downfall. Thus, should be classified as " MUST-HAVE" or "MUST-TRY-TO-USE". 7. On the other hand; 8 mansions is considered as "NICE-TO-HAVE". Even under 8 mansions, the priority is: "If possible, bedroom could be in one's good sector". And nice-to-have we sleep with our head facing a good sector. 8. Thus it is true that mountain and water star numbers react under a 81 combination system. And in many situations, even if a person is an East group, but even if the home is a say NE or SW under the current Period 8, such homes may compound and bring better luck than say a home that is North facing to an East group person. As North homes does not have as good Flying Star qi under Period 7 nor 8. 9. When modelling a home, there is no such thing as a perfect home, but rather "as Feng Shui friendly as" possible. Is a better statement.

1. Traditionally, a weak yin earth person's - one of the best careers has to do with the fire element. 2. Food technologist in general can be associated with earth element. If one is a weak earth person, then as a food technologist, it is like adding earth to your weak earth. Here, under ba zi analysis, the career is acceptable, but just an average career - i.e. akin to placing food on the table. Quote: Anonymous wrote: I am a weak yin earth person based on the analysis. 1. I assume that you are referring to a landed property. 2. For landed property, imagine where is the road driving into your property and where is your main gate. 3. Usually is your main gate and main entrance door the same facing direction i.e. when you open your main entrance door is this the same direction as the main gate? And in addition, your living room and frontage of home is at this location. 3.1 If YES, then stand inside the house looking outwards and take a compass reading. This is your facing direction. 3.2 If NO, determine where is the frontage of your home. And take a reading from inside the home e.g. porch or patio looking outwards. 4. Obtain a layout plan and plot 'the center of the home". If the home is rectangular, then where two diagonal lines meet is the centrepoint of the home.If the home has too many corners, paste a copy of the layout plan onto a cardboard, cut out the outline and try to balance the entire layout plan onto a nail to find the centre of gravity by balancing the enitre cardboard onto the nail should be the centre of gravity.
