  1. 1. Please note that 8M has its limitations. And this info has been covered many times previously in this forum. 2. Since Flying star with 8M belong to the same Compass school, both plus shapes and forms Feng Shui are to be used together.
  2. 1. Even if many Feng Shui practitioners consider the entire facing direction of this (attachment) "C"-shaped building's facing direction is reading from marking "A" to "B"; 2. It is said that in the attached illustration, if there are #6 units in the entire block; Units #3 and #4 is suppose to have better qi. This is generally the view point shared amongst majority FS practitioners. Please see attachment
  3. Let me share with you some of my further observations:- 1. "Camp 2" - practitioners, (in my opinion) are strong believe of bringing in the "theory" of the main door as the facing direction (taken from direct context of how the frontage is usually read from LANDED property. 2. "Camp 1" - Tries to understand where is the "mouth " of the house. Like our mouth, (and nose) is where we "obtain qi" or use this to further enhance the qi of a house. And therefore, the most "yang" location is where qi "often" comes in most of the time and thus try to tap it. Again, no two homes are the same. And "THERE ARE FRANKLY NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWERS"! As you can see, both sides have their "valid" aguements for or against one another's concept(s).
  4. Attached please find an illustration of the usual way a "C" shaped building's facing direction is taken. Many Feng Shui practitioners would try to locate the "facing direction" of a building. For some building(s) this could be the front porch or when we look down to the development, there is a water position etc...
  5. 1. To be really honest with you currently there are two major camps with regards to the "Facing Direction". There are more sub-sub classifications. 2. Everyone is overall clear with landed property. But for high-rise; as mentioned above, there are two major camps:- "Camp 1": As you had mentioned: takes into consideration the most Yang qi or opening. Thus for some high rise, it is straight forward where the block of flat or apartment is commonly rectangular and all units face a certain direction. In Singapore, these are the one to three room older Housing Board flats. Here, the main door and the facing direction i.e. the window are similar. Camp 1: Plays it safe, by giving a general remark that one should find the most yang facing direction. "Camp 2": Usually states that 1st to the 5th floor should be the facing direction of the block of flat. While higher floors, the reading is taken inside the house facing the main door. Here, Camp 2's argument is that windows etc.. are not doors where qi can flow in. It must be a main door. In Singapore, often the practitioner will ask the owner do you or will you have the habit to open the main door and leave it open often? If yes, then one might review the situation and use the main door instead. Thus Camp 1's argument is that if one opens the door, close it most of the time and windows are often opened more often than the main door - slam shut as many living in a condo often, does, than Camp 1 hasa stronger argument that since constant qi doesnot flow in most of the time from the main door, then, we should consider qi coming from the most yang location. 3. Most of the Singapore Feng Shui practitioners "use the most yang" qi 'facing direction" to determine it. Thus, usually based on this it is the side of the home with the most windows especially most of the time it could be standing in the living room looking outwards. 7. Living high can in most instances reduce the impact of sha qi at cross roads.. the worst impact is often the ground floor and/or the 2nd floor. However, "white noise" or noise pollution occurs loudest for different homes depending on the height of the road, the distance of the block from the road, any damper like highwalls / trees etc... For example, someone living at 3rd storey may not be affected by road noise. But due to the distance of the house from say a highway, maybe the loudest road noise "attacks" say storeys 7 or 9 etc... Anonymous wrote: I'm very new to FS and really hope to learn from all the learned forum'ers here. The concept that I'm currently trying to learn is the 8M theory. And i have some problems trying to decide which facing direction(FD) should be the FD for my house. My main door is facing NW and my living room is in the SE. One of the walls of my living room is a picture window (facing SE)that extends from the floor to almost the ceiling. Based on what i have learned, the FD for my house may not be that of my main door especially I'm living on the 13th floor. From some sources, the FD for the house should be the one that receives lots of sunshine and activity, and where there is an open space in front. Is this theory true? My concern is that with these two choices i can derive two house gua that have two different impacts on my house sectors. Please advice. Another question is that my picture window is facing a cross junction and from i learn, by living high, the impact from the "sha chi" is reduced. is this true? Thank for your attention.
  6. 1. High probability of the male (if he is a bachelor) to encounter the opposite sex and this may lead to romance. 2. The above is based on "vertical Flying Star Feng Shui" analysis. Under Flying Star there is the "horizontal Flying Star" which many know as the common "Flying Star Feng Shui with the 15 different sectors" .... and Period e.g. Period 7, Period 8 etc... Christopher H. wrote: Hi, I tried the free Flying Star House Number and got the following interpretation: [3] & [4] - Star 3 represents Male. Star 4 represents Female. When Female comes, the Male will follow. Means it is the Male's Romance luck. Please advise what does this mean. Thank you in advance. Christopher

    1. If we were to approach this subject based on or in-the-name of "Feng Shui" then there are two concepts: 1.1. Symbolism in Feng Shui 1.2. Commonsense Aproach to Feng Shui (and virtually anything) 2. A sword is symbolic of a knife and often, any Feng Shui practitioner would advise us not to display such an item in full view of common - rest areas such as a living room or dining room or a bedroom. 3. This is considered as a "sha qi" or poison arrow. Thus, it is "safer" to display it one's personal study room or a special lockable display shelf - is a better choice. The rationale, here is that we do not want any one in the home especially family members to easily get hold of it. For example, young children, they may just be out of our sight for a short while and they may just draw the sword and accidentally cause an "accident". 4. Para 3, has to do more with Commonsense. Anything that is not "safe" should be kept higher or locked up. Especially those affecting our "safety". "The idea here is "Better safe than sorry".
  8. As mentioned in an earlier reply to one of your questions: the model that you are using originated as / from " A modern invention - invented by Lin Yun "..... All Traditional Chinese Feng Shui sites and practitioners steer clear of such "rubbish" (bull-shit) in the name of "Feng Shui"..... http://qi-whiz.com/node/35- The Confession of Lin Yun ....
  9. Dear Miki, 1. The fixed template model that you are using is a modern invention. The rationale why there are tensof dozens of such practitioner is that any "Tom, Dick or Harry" can choose to become an "expert" in the field of "Feng Shui" just by telling peopleto super-imposesuch a template. 2. The rationale why such a template type of "Feng Shui" is popular as it is "fixed" and anyone who has some "creativity" can simply write a book e.g. Chapter 1 - Introduction to the Ba Gua Chaper 2 - North - Career sector ..... And pass this book as a work of "Feng Shui" ....... 3. Traditional Feng Shui websites (inclusive of Geomancy.net) does not use such a "scheme". And thus will not comment more on such "hocus-pocus" modern invention... 4. This model you are currently using was invented by " Lin Yun". Check out this article, at Kate Bramble's website: http://qi-whiz.com/node/35 - The Confession of Lin Yun. The joke is on him! Anonymous wrote: I heard different oppinions how to apply Bagua to a garden: 1. First opinion is that I apply the Bagua to the house and then extend the areas to the garden. 2. On one side of this rectange, there is a house and the rest is garden: +-----------+----------------------+ |/////////////|.......................| |//House//|......Garden.......| |/////////////|.......................| +-----------+----------------------+ Which application of Bagua to the garden do you find more appropriate? 10. 1. Under the area of "symbolism" in Chinese culture;in general there are twopictorial representations with horse(s):- 1.1. In the past, pictures were drawn of an "official" mounting a horse saddled with "treasure". This pictureis said to represent the hope that the person displaying this picture/painting can achieve a high post or position. 1.2 Nowadays, new pictures or paintings referring to the above are "rare". 2. Some Feng Shui practitioners recommend to their clients to place a statue of a galloping horse (there are several replicas of beautiful ancient galloping horses). This figurine is placed facing the main door. The Feng Shui practitioner would say that if one places this horse facing the main door, it is hoped that the owner will be able to travel i.e. be it for leisure or for business. 3. If it is a painting of several horses or a 100 or 1000 horses, the idea (is or was) to face the main door. Again with the hope that the horses will rush out to gather more business for the owner. There is a very famous painting with a group of galloping "wild" horses.... 4. If the painting has a person saddled on the horse and often, it is shown with ornate objects of wealth, then, the Feng Shuii practitioner will often recommend that the painting face inwards into the home. The idea is that wealth is "brought" into the home andnot see it leave the home. 5. Thus the above is all about "symbolism" in Chinese culture or some consider these part of "Feng Shui" luck. And the above has nothing to do with one's Chinese Astrology sign.
  11. 1. Under the Chinese Astrology, yes, the rat's worst pairing is the horse. As they are considered direct opposites. 2. The main concern about learningor undestanding Chinese astrology is that especially after one has read such a material, and if the material sows doubt it often may lead to: self fullfilling prophecy or auto-suggestion. 3. Thus, since this already makes you feel uncomfortable, then, from a "human or man" luck factor, for this reason, you may consider just removing it.
  12. 1. In my opinion, not sure if you have knowledge or may need to seek help from a Feng Shui point of view. 2. Often, the problem can be corrected especially by applying Flying Star Feng Shui: #3 May need to disarm this "bad wood" element. #5 misfortune (and sickness) stars. 3. If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied, and once one disarms especially these two nasty stars, it will certainly alleviate the problem! 4. Sorry, it is not within this scope of this forum to work out the chart for your home nor dwell deeper into it as no two homes arethe same and such things needs full analysis and work. 13. These are some ofthe major Feng Shui considerations:- 1. Check to see if (especially) the direct opposite neighbour's home roof is not like a pointed arrow especially if it suppose to slice thru the proposed new main door of your home and or windows. 2. Also do check for any street lamps or signposts that slices or will slice the main door and or windows. 3. If you are constructing a new home under Flying Star Period 8: then if your home has clear space at the frontage, then a better facing direction is the Flying Star SW1 facing. As there is a water star #8 current prosperity at the facing direction. And there is a mountain star #8 at the back of the house. If the home suits this configuration, then a SW1 facing is most ideal. 3. If the frontage is blocked especially if a two or three storey home facing (yours) then a SW2 or SW3 would be beneficial as there is a Mountain Star #8 at the frontage .... 4. Water existing the home is crucial as usually two sectors are very auspicious water drainage directions and often one is meant for "power and authority" for those staying in a specific landed property. 5. Please take note that changing the door direction to many good Feng Shui practitioners is deemed "temporary" only and the qi effect is not as good as the real qi coming in naturally from the actual facing direction. 6. From a traditional Feng Shui point of view, the male breadwinner's 8 house chart is considered, first - as what you have done. Another form is some Feng Shui practitioners use the person's element and strength to determine the best facing direction or how suitable the direction is. The 8 house chart is acceptable (full stop). And for those who use the ba zi method, is tomany pracititioners as "a finer point" or method. BUT, using both can be "suicidal" for some as these two may conflict and one may be at odd's end.
  14. Dear Michael, As we have a policy of not selling any physical products, feel free to search the internet for such types of Luo Pan. Quote: Michael K. wrote: Good day everyone! Thank you Masters Robert & Cecil Lee for your wonderful courses, I'm thoroughly enjoying them. I'd like to start off on the right foot with my Feng Shui analysis. Can anyone recommend a good Luo Pan. I've done some research and come up with 8"6in or 26cm as the size of professional standard for accuracy. I also thought that a Zhung He Luo Pan was best suited for the Feng Shui as taught at Geomancy.net. Any opinions on this, or good brands at a resonable price? Thank you all for your time. Blessings, Michael
  15. Frankly there are some materials on this subject, but are scattered all over the website: 1. Mirror facing Dining table Try to use one piece or three pieces instead of two equal sized ones. If we can visualise, two pieces when placed against the dining table is slicing the middle of (or spliting) the middle of the dining table, inauspicious. 2. There are many other exampes of mirrors in a bedroom, facing entranceetc...
  16. Frankly, the house number analysis is based on "Vertical Flying Star" Feng Shui - where each level is suppose to have different qi flow. It is nice-to-have an apartment that has a good number (full-stop). However, this is not the end, but one of the many other considerations. In Feng Shui it is the earth luck: thus "location, location and location is equally as important. And it involves a close-look or study of the site, the building and neighbouring building / roads etc.. Thus the more info, one has, to evaluate the home, the better. As the "Vertical Flying Star" Feng Shui is specific to just looking especially at which level or storey the apartment is (full-stop). It cannot tell more than that. Quote: Greetings to all! I stay in India, and have recently relocated to Delhi. Ever since shifting here I have been beset with one problem after another, mostly related to health, finance, too much expenditure and career wise (reputation). On the free section of this site, I did a house number analysis, and this is what came up House Number : #1050-0 House Period : 7 (1984-2003) 81 Interpretation [3] & [6] - Lawsuit, injury to hands and legs. I stay in a rented accomodation of flats, in Sector A Pocket B&C House number 1050. I have been planning to move into C6 6511, the analysis of which says House Number : #6511-0 House Period : 7 (1984-2003) 81 Interpretation [1] & [6] - Power and Authority (Especially good for police or uniformed personnel). Please advise! Will this be a wise move?
  17. 1. This reminds me of several encounters with Doctors (surgeons / GP or specialists). 2. Feng Shui is not an "exact" science and there are as many different practises as there are practitioners. 3. Many doctors (were used) to studying say the human body and many books e.g. Gray Anatomy etc.. detail the exact body structure, muscles, organs. And these are or have to be reproduced "exactly". 4. And several of these Doctors tried to "learn" Feng Shui. And, like yourself, found difficulty as such! Therefore, the consolation is that you are not alone!
  18. 1. Frankly, in my opinion, many books will still be general and all those questions that you had posted would have to depend on the various replies that you had received be it earlier or in the near future. 2. As practitioners vary in their interpetations, this is understandable especially if one is doing DIY Feng Shui. You still have to go around searching for "answers" as there is no single book that covers what you are asking nor confirming what is "right or wrong".
  19. Overall, depending on the external environment (especially the site and location); under Flying Star Period 8, a NE2 home generally enjoys a Parent string especiallyif the frontage has a "mountain" and the back... "clear space" effect. Health especially for the 1st year is a concern but overall, the house may enjoy favourable wealth luck. The suggestion or advise is for a holistic approach to Feng Shui: try to do a full Feng Shui audit : to neutralise the leaks and areas where qi can be improved on, try to do so. The remedy will depend on individual home and individual sector(s) of the home. We just bought a " very inauspicious" house according to the flying star theory. It was built this year (2008) and is facing NE2. Can you tell me what should we do to make this house auspicious? Do you have any suggestions, cures, adviseor remedy?
  20. 1. The professional approach is more than the simplistic view that since the home is facing "south-east"; it DOES NOT automatically mean that the best colour(s) is GREEN (SE = wood). 2. For example, most of the professional Feng Shui practitioners apply Flying Star Feng Shui. And if a SECTOR of a home does have a #3; this represents "BAD WOOD". And anything associated with green such as GREEN colour or green plants is considered inauspicious, here. 3. Thus the notion that SE = Wood, West = Metal, North = Water is too simplistic and often unfortunately, considered as "Kindergarten Feng Shui". 4. Traditionally professional Feng Shui practitioners would first look at Para 2 (Flying Star) and after considering this, then it is NICE-to have the specific location customised if possible to one's ba zi colours. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, Using your free report, I realised I am a weak yin earth and my most unfavourable colour is green. However, as my house is facing south east and thus the element "wood", I wastold that green is a favourable colour for painting the walls of the house. Now i am confused, when choosing the colour to paint one's house, should it based on the element of the house or the element of the person living there? Thanks in advance. Regards Kris
  21. Coincidentally still acceptable to have a Metal, Water plus a little Fire element. Here, water draws out his strong metal, fire "melts" metal. These two are already favourable to him. Thus even adding Metal to his chart is acceptable. Being a strong metal person, a water industry is favourable to this person.
  22. 1. Yes, in your case, where it is not a sole proprietor or more than two persons, it is best to go for a logo that is harmonious to the industry:- 2. Since the industry should be considered as a "water" element: these are usually the best combined options for such a logo:- 2.1 Metal (White or gold or silver) with Water (Blue, black or grey). Here metal is also represented by circle. And water is wavy form. Thus for colours one of the best combinations are: BLUE with WHITE 2.2 Another set of combination can also be: METAL (white or gold or silver) supports WATER (Blue, black or grey) . And Water destroys Fire (to create wealth) Under Para 2.2. another combination of colours are: Metal with Water with a little RED (Fire = red). For example if there is a letter I or i, the dot on the i can be red. Para 2.2 is the preferred choice as a better logo should have THREE colours NOT two. Please see attachment. Irina M. wrote: Dear Cecil, Thank you for your response. In such case, what would be the best colour/shapefor a company logo? There are 4 partners in this business and it would not be very practical to design the logo based on the elements of all 4 people. Is it correct that man can either use the colour or shape of the element which represents the category of business, or use the control cycle? For example, as Orange did with theirsquare orange logo - their business is communication (water) controlled by earth (orange/square). Regards, I.M
  23. 1. In general the industry should be considered as a "Water" element due to a large component of it as a "drink or shake". 2. Individually, if one sells or market the drink then his job specs should be a "Fire element".
  24. Dear Rebecca, 1. I hope you can understand that it is difficult for me with this general information to give you any advise. 2. Perhaps, you can check out for any practitioners in your area. 3. For a SE facing home, it also depends on the age of the home ( 1984 to 2003 = Period 7; 1964 to 1983 = Period 6 or earlier home). In addition, the individual layout of your home especially the bedroom / kitchen etc... has to be considered also. Best of Luck!
  25. From a Chinese Luck System: i.e. commonly known as the "Holy Trinity of Luck":- Heaven Luck (born with) Earth Luck (in your case your home) Human or Man Luck (your dad's affirmative action with support from family members). We have not fully looked at the Earth Luck of your home. But just a general understanding. Based on the Holy Trinity of Luck, see how you and your dad and family members can also try to focus on how best strategically you can try to "stop" more people coming to your home. The saying goes "blood is thicker" than water. And only immediate family members apply, here. Others e.g. cousins, relatives are not direct family members. So, it is good to discuss some plans or if your dad "remains a very soft" person, try to "place" courage into him. Try to say "NO" and not "YES".. to these "outsiders".
