Qilin on house lamp post
1. The Ying Fo Fui Kun is one of Singapore oldest clan associations, located in Telok Ayer Street. 2. Even if one wants to place Qi Lin's on a property or even outside the property; 3. The Qi Lin(s) must either be full bodied "prosperous looking" or have a "charming smile." Not those fearless or fierce looking ones. 4. This Ying Fo Fui Kun has FOUR: Yes! FOUR QI LINS outside the property! There are TWO adult qi lins and two smaller baby cub qi lin closer to the inner pillars. 5. Both the adult Qi lin's and cub qi lin's each have a "pearl ribbon" wrapped over their neck. Here, fire controls "metal". 6. The qi lin that has the widest smile is the smaller baby one (on the right side) where, I had taken the most photos. 7. The photos are non-3d, so does not do justice to the "smile" of the baby cub qi lin. But go look at it from various angles.. it looks playful and has a huge generous smile! This implies harmony for both the "dwelling" and passerby! 8. The original building in the 1822's was not adorned with these qi lins as can be seen in one of the plagues on the wall.

Elvis Presley & Marilyn Monroe are alive?
1. Elvis Presley & Marilyn Monroe are alive? 2. Not exactly! BUT somehow, they are at least remembered in Singapore! Maybe for the wrong reasons? Why? 3. This rememberance in Singapore is not exactly complimentary! 4. Really, creative people, do think differently from "normal" of the mill people like us! 5. In Australia, I get to see Toilets with captions of "RAM = male" and "DOE = female" goat. 6. This newly refurbished building: Pico Creative Centre; along Kallang Avenue seems to think that the best way for people to recognised the male side of the toilet is via the huge posted of Elvis. And for the female? The famous sex symbol: Marilyn Monroe! 7. Look at these two pictures. These two pictures grace the toilet entrance located at the 12th storey of Pico Creative Centre... 8. Next time; if you do ever visit this centre, please "pay your respect" to the KING of Rock and the Queen of sex symbols... when you next do a deposit, there.

Hillvista Condo @ 1 Elizabeth Drive
Erh.. How do I climb down into the pool. Or how do I climb up the pool? This is not a Magician trick... Just that the developer placed an extensive guard rail to prevent anyone climbing down or pushed down the steps into the Hillvista condo pool. Thus, don't worry it is not an illusion! When this condo TOP; for sure, the barrier will be lifted. Please don't quote me on this! If you don't believe; when I next visit this condo during TOP; will show you a photo proof of it! Cheers!

Hillvista Condo @ 1 Elizabeth Drive
Condo: Hillvista Started building around 3 years ago. Expected TOP is around October 2010 or thereabouts. Consists of a row of three "blocks" fused together into one single block. With units or stacks either facing Flying Star North 3 or South 3 direction. Under this current Feng Shui qi; facing South 3 or S3 is preferred over N3. The siteplan or sitemap's NORTH compass direction does NOT MATCH it's individual layout plan's NORTH compass marking. In the siteplan; the NORTH seems to be at Flying Star N1 or S1. While under it's individual layout plan NORTH marking; the compass reading is either N3 or S3. So far, I can recall that there were few mistakes made especially on the siteplan. And in my lifetime; I can recall only 2 or 3 other cases where the siteplan NORTH marking is "off" or incorrect.

If one does not want to apply or has no means to apply say the Flying Star Feng Shui: "Can I place a water feature at location marked as X?". Then have to go by Trial and Error Type of Feng Shui. The most logical choice is to apply the concept, that I had coined many years back called " The Customer Service Engineer " Effect. This concept credits the way IBM Customer Service Engineer trouble-shoots "problems". Check out this "ancient" link and the term "Customer Service Engineer" .... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=2736&new=

best color for a bedroom
The only caution with using light cream or beige is; if say a bedroom is painted light cream or beige; and the ceiling lights is also "warm yellowish" lighting. If so, a bedroom that has any of the following combinations of 20 Year Flying Star numbers:- Mountain star = #5 or #2 or #9 with Water star = #5 or #2 or #9 with In such a situation, the best "cure" is to use "cool daylight" lighting. This is because "Warm white" or yellowish coloured light when turned on in a bedroom looks yellowish and this is further accentuated by the bedroom having light cream wall. Just imagine even when we wear a white shirt; when we turn on a "yellowish" lamp; the shirt looks "yellowish". This is the only caution. If not sure? Then use WHITE wash wall paint. As white represents metal element. What lesson can we learn from this? If one frequently falls sick in a bedroom and uses warm white lighting; then on the safe side, reduce the problem by changing to cool day light light bulb.

best color for a bedroom
These are some further considerations:- 1. For the novice or lay person or the "play safe" person; then go for neutral colours. 2. For example, under this Period 8 : 2004 to 2023; one of the best colours is light cream in various names e.g. barley white etc... 3. Under Period 7: 1984 to 2003; the best colour is white. White still remains a neutral colour. 4. Many people dislike "Feng Shui advice" especially if a Geomancer suggests different colours for the entire home. Thus, if one wants to choose a neutral colour can "play safe" by selecting the favourite colour of some condos "light cream or beige" or the most popular term or variant is known as "barley white". 5. Thus, no headaches or heartaches.. go for this colour is fine.

best color for a bedroom
These are some of the considerations: 1. Between 1970's to 1985 thereabouts, many Geomancers simply check what is your bazi element (favourable colours) and simply or rudimentary advise you to use these (those) favourable colours of yours. 2. During that time, it is even very common to find a geomancer telling his client: you lack wood. And this client would make sure that his whole house is "full of wood". 3. If the above was so popular, should I follow this 1970's to 1985 trend? 4. Nowadays, Flying Star Feng Shui is no longer a "secret". And since the Flying Star Feng Shui is all about the birth-chart of the house; 5. It makes sense that even if one's bazi element or colours are such and such... it is best to harmonise it with the Flying Star chart of a specific room sector. 5.1. For example if the sector has Mountain Star #5 and Water #2. If the person's ba zi wealth colour is EARTH (Yellow); For this specific sector, it is best to avoid YELLOW colour even if it is considered suitable to the ba zi of that person. 5.2. Otherwise, just "faint ignorant" and go ahead and paint the room to your suitable colours. If it has been done in the 1970's to 1985 ...hmmmm.... hmmm...

Fish Tank for Office
1. We humans have our birth chart. 2. Your office also has it's own birth chart e.g. When it was built and first occupied. 3. On a "scientific" level The Compass School: Flying Star is one instrument that can be used to detect what type of wealth sector and whether say the water position at the entrance is favourable or not. If it is found suitable then it does not matter whether your partner is a small fire element person. Current, it is anybody's guess without such a study.

Kitchen cabinet knob and pull quesion
1. Yes, the number of hobs is one consideration. Hops as in the stove burner. And often, the Flying Star chart is looked at to futher fine tune whether the hobs are either even or odd number(s). 2. Traditionally, matt finished stainless steel is OK. 3. One Feng Shui school of thought considers it "inauspicious" to have a highly reflective glass behind the stove. Or a highly polished reflective stainless steel material. As this School felt that a home should not have TWO stoves. And such a reflective mirror symbolises a home having two stoves. Here, the conotation is that the male partner will have to "support" two partners e.g. a wife and a mistress = TWO STOVES. 4. Well, to some man, wow, this is great? Right? They would have a common wife to support and a mistress somewhere else! This is what the "TWO" stoves is about!

How the Fengshui of Windermere
In my opinion, these are some considerations: 1. Overall, based on Shapes and Forms, majority of the blocks are tall point blocks (from a distance much like thoseHDB 5-room point-blocks of themid-1970's era). 2. Onegood thing about such "point blocks eg.Blk 20, 26, 28, 30, 32 - based on Shapes andForms allows qi to flow well from most directions. 3.Majority of the stacks face North-South directions (slight tilt) towards the north-west but in general most of the developmentunder Flying Star Feng Shui should be Period 7 (10 years old) apartments: stacks facing either North or South directions. 4. Based on current Period 8, 2004 to 2023, the better facingstacks (standing inside the living room looking out of the living room windows)are those South facing ones as compared to North facing ones.Thusstacks under Blocks 20, 26, 28, 30 and 32- with south facing apartments are preferred over Block 22 where stacks can face North directions. 5.Have to pay extra attention especiallyfor some of the stacks underBlock 20 which is parallel to the canal leading towards (Johore / andKranji Reservoir).

Color of roof tiles and exterior wall colours
In General, these are the considerations or pairings of roof tile colors and exterior wall finishes:- 1. If possible, it is advisable to avoid a BLUE roof. According to the I-ching, blue symbolizes difficulty, and if it covers the entire roof, it resembles water above you. 2. If a blue roof MUST be utilized, then the exterior walls should be white or off-white, but never cream or beige. 3. If a grey roof is chosen, the optimal choice for the exterior walls is white. Grey exterior walls are acceptable, but if a grey roof is used, cream or beige walls should be avoided. 4. According to the current Feng Shui period, the most favorable colors are earth tones (cream or beige), particularly for exterior walls. Therefore, if a green roof is employed, cream, beige, or peachy colors are suitable. 5. WHITE roofs are not recommended as they symbolize "death or mourning." 6. Common traditional colors include orange or maroon. In such cases, any exterior wall colors are permissible. For instance, if roofs of these colors are used, exterior wall colors can vary from white to off-white, cream or beige, to red brick tile colors, and so forth.

Decorative dry rock creek
Further to what I had mentioned; attached, please find the "breakdown" of the components of the dry creek. As mentioned earlier; larger stones (rocks) = Yang; while the smaller pebbles and it's lighter shade shows an imaginary profile of a water course. While at the outer far reaches of this landscaping should be considered as transparent or not so relevant to this entire dry creek thing. I mean the sandy part of it. In the Japanese Zen garden, they simply use all smilar sized pebble in the entire yard. Thus the yard : only has larger stones and pebbles and some decorate lamp(s).
-
Decorative dry rock creek
1. This "dry creek" kinda of thing is popular with Japan or Japanese landscaping. 2. Thus in general, under Symbolism in Feng Shui; just imagine your rather smaller sized pebbles as water droplets. 3. While you have the huge stones, the size of roughly a bowling ball or smaller. These larger stones can be considered as "earth" element. 4. Thusbased on Yin and Yang concept: para 2 (YIN = smaller stones or rocks) is combined with para 3(Yang = larger bowling ball or larger than ostrich egg sized rocks).

Clementi Woods Condo: CHILD Friendly...
1. Some condos are considered as Feng Shui friendly. Some are ECO friendly. 2. However, Clementi Woods Condo should be classified as "child" friendly... WHY? 3. The tell-tale sign is when one approaches each unit at the doorway (entrance!) 4. Here, every apartment main door entrancehas two "nipples" oops! Sorry, I mean.. two fish eye viewer(s). 5. There is the fish eye view for an adult. And there is also a lower fish eye view to accomodate a child. Not just any child. A child that is around 32 inches in height! 6. I must say this condo allows family members to treat their child or children equally. Or that they have equal rights in whom they want to enter the home. Kind of a delegated responsibility when it comes to the "gate-keeper" of sorts. 7. Most likely, entrance doors would be opened much faster! Just imagine.. an active child can streak across the room to the door in no time. 8. To make it even easier, all entrance doors are "no frills" doors. This is the first development after TOP in this modern times that has NO electronic lock(s). Just simple key-lock system!

What happens if we have a choice to install as many fish-eye viewers on our main door? What would you do?

Kitchen cabinet knob and pull quesion
In my opinion, for the kitchen, these are some of the considerations under Feng Shui:- 1. Size of kitchen matters 2. Location of stove and if possible sink does not face or "clash" with the stove 3. Number of hobs for the stove 4. Which compass sector the kitchen (stove) is located 5. If there is an opening and if the stove faces the opening of a bedroom... 6. Preferred height of the stove 7. Stove face the toilet These are more important considerations for the kitchen. And if the kitchen door does not face a bedroom and/or living room area, then most of the time, it is not a major issue. What you had mentioned the type of or design of the door knob is considered "peanuts" or "small fry" type of thing. Therefore not as important as any of the above Para 1 to 7 senarios.

Advice on having temple at the back of house
These are some considerations on Block 403:- 1. The Block's facing stretches from NW facing to NE facing. And there are even some units that face "Easterly". 2. I assume that the block of flats was built or TOP under Period 7: 1984 to 2003. 3. Period 7, NW facing directions NW1, NW2/3generally today (2004 to 2023) as having small luck as the water wealth under the Period 7 is trapped in the centre. 4. Better units are those facing NE but these units face 406 thus blocked view. 5. Lower floor units of block 403 especially the ones facing the T junction i.e. the road leading from Gardens at Bishan / Bishan condo park etc.. should pay more attention even though it is not at the fringe of the T-junction. More attended needed in this case. 6. If one talks about temple behind the block 403, blocks 401 and 404 are considered even closer to the temple(s). However, if you ask this question, when it is time for one to sell such units even at 403; others may also worry about this point. Thus this is not Feng Shui but future resale value. Plus yearly, the area is notorious for traffic congestion annually. 7. Block 403 Easterly units that are close to Block 404 seems to have some clear space. This is considered better than the North-East block facing units that are parallel to block 406. 8. From a Feng Shui point of view, it is best that any of the units in this development does not face the "spine" of the temple which is the most prominent object in this area. 9. Not considering the type of units; in general based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui HDB-point block 402 seems a better block. Again I am not referring to or care whether it is a 5 or 4/3 room flat. However, half the block faces NW (again not a good facing) and SE (which is equally not so fantastic facing) = a catch 22 situation.
