Dear Anon, 1. Usually, further investigations should be made to determine the type of "leak". Often, if your bedroom is too yin (dark) and in many instances where the storeroom is located at SW or has flying star #3 at that sector. 2. For the storeroom, if it is too yin (or dark), without proper investigations, you may consider "trial and error" by installing a light such those latest "philips led" bulds" that stay cool. And leave this light on for 12 hours (of course without distracting your sleep - ie glare. Warning: Using halogen, may not be suitable as it produces lots of heat especially for those whose home are of wood construction. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: i have a storeroom in my bedroom which i heard is bad for my relationship with my boyfriend. there is always a third party in my previous relationships. is it really bad to have a storeroom in bedroomand if so,how should i change it to save my relationship? Please advice.

Dear Ren, It is acceptable to place a water feature, here as the location based on Flying star has the water wealth (current prosperity WS#8). Try to take note of the following:- 1. Since the sector has bad #2 with #5, it is good (if you are rearing gold fishes) for: either 6 gold and 1 black or 7 gold and 1 black. 2. There is a high chance that several of the gold fishes may die (sacrificed) due to #5. (Acceptable for this). 3. Never use any pyramid shaped fish tank. 4. Since this sector is south, never use any stand (or legs) that are blue or (dark or light blue) stand for the fish tank. Black or golden stand is acceptable, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Renato C. wrote: Hi Master, I have Mountain Star # 6, Water Star # 8, Base Star # 2 and Yearly Star # 5 on the South sector of the house. I have place some metal to cure the stars #2 and #5, I'm planning to place aquarium in this sector to enhance the water star #8, but according to 8 mansion theory the south is Li Trigram 9 with Fire element. Is it OK to place the enhancer here? With Respect, ren

Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. Relationships are built upon "man or human luck factors". Under Feng Shui, you can apply Flying star to activate the mountain stars.

Since you have already consulted your Feng Shui consultant, it is best to follow their advise given that your question is very general.

1. Contrary to popular belief, a home that may enjoy parent string combination does not automatically do so. The key is : Location, location and location. 2. Frankly, either there is some issue with the location: if it is a landed property: factors like drainage etc.. and other external and internal factors should be taken into consideration. 3. The cures or enhancement is not general to all. And, if you are DIY, then, try to apply the Eight House and Flying star Feng Shui: In particular, as mentioned previously in this forum see if you can activate: #8 current prosperity and/or #9 - especially for middle aged persons #1 future, future prosperity and also try to fix leaksespecially relating to #5 and #3. If you are DIY, then, best get a layout plan andwork out a flying star chart since you already know that your home is a SW2/3 Period 8.
-
Frankly, it is best that you try to seek professional help in your case. This is even more so if you have a home office and if you are not too sure on how to properly apply Flying Star Feng Shui.

1. Frankly, the are not the only "lone-souls" on this earth that "face" this situation. 2. In many past (previous) messages... I had mentioned that if we are applying Feng Shui:- 2.1 There is NO SUCH THING as a PERFECT HOME. 2.2 What most of us can do is to: try to maximise the qi in a home or to neutralise (preventive cure) poison arrows or bad qi. 3. Many of us have taken one form of school examinations. Thus, for example, many of us have come across an examination where we were suppose to answer e.g. 5 questions out of a total of 100 marks. Thus each question is 20 marks each. 4. And in our examination technique, many teachers have recommended to their students to allocate time to answer each question. Thus if we were given 2 hours 30 minutes to answer 5 questions, we should start to answer a new question every 30 minutes or earlier. No point in answering just 4 questions, instead of trying to answer 5 questions. Here, we may fail the exam by answering just 3 or 4 questions. The same thing is for Feng Shui. If the bedroom is not suitable, this is not Doomsday or end of day senario. Try our best to "maximise" our Feng Shui marks. R A. wrote: My husband is in the west group. His kua number is 2. Our master bedroom and an attached bathroom fall in the north direction. The room and hte bathroom color are blue. This appears to be a really bad position to be in. Is there anything we can do rather than move.?

Dear Angelia, 1. Frankly, instinctively, we should look at the bedroom layout and always sleep in a "comfortable" natural position. 2. Either sleeping under one of our four best directions AND/or sleeping in a favourable Flying Star sector(s) are both considered NICE-TO-HAVE and not a must have. However, if we do encounter very bad flying star numbers like #5 and or #2 and or with #9, then, these are the worst stars and if so, we should or if could avoid sleeping within these sectors. For other flying star combinations, they are usually of a lower concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cindy, In this sample report, (see attachment ) In general, a geomancer will select a name based on the breakdown of one's ba zi element:- Your Five Element Breakdown 1 Weak Water 4 Strongest Wood 2 Strong Fire 1 Extremely Weak Earth 0 Weakest Metal 9% 62% 25% 3% 0% This tells me that you are a Weak Water because of too little Water (9%) and Metal (0%). Your element is born in a season which is makes Water Element Weak. Thus, influencing the element strength of the other five element elements. The percentage of each element is considered after considering the seasonal strength and the number of that element present. Thus, your favourable elements are Metal (0%) and Water (9%) Elements. Fire (25%) is your wealth element. However, as you are a Weak Water, you first need to be stronger in order to control your wealth element. Based on the percentage of the Five Element of each of your favourable element. You should attempt to enhance the favourable element with least percentage, followed by the favourable element with the next lowest percentage. As Weak Water, your favourable elements are Metal (0%) / Water (9%) . Metal (0%) is your most favourable element. Water (9%) is your next most favourable element. Your unfavourable elements are Earth (3%) / Wood (62%) / Fire (25%). Wood (62%) is your most unfavourable element. As you have way too much of Wood, it is best to avoid it as much as possible. Fire (25%) is your next unfavourable element. Earth (3%) is your least unfavourable element. You have a very unbalanced Five Element distribution. Often, this produces signs of a person with several possible health problems. You have a very unbalanced Five Element distribution. Often, this produces signs of a person with several possible health problems. You have 0% Metal element. This often signify possible Health related problems to the Lung. You have 62% Wood element. This often signify possible Health related problems to the Liver, Bile and Spleen. Having too much Wood may sometimes lead to indirect health issues related to (Earth element). The ideal balance of each element is generally 20% of each element. However, it is difficult to achieve exactly 20% of each element. This is because it is difficult to know exactly how much of each element you have at any point in time. So as long as you have more of your favourable elements, you will improve your balance and harmony. In the above example, this fictitious ladyby the name of Jane has an imbalance inba zi element i.e. she haslots of wood 62 percent while zero percent metal. A geomancy will normally come up withseveral names to check which is a better choice. Thus, for each individual, this would depend on our birth date and time of birth. Although we would like to have a nice meaningful name, this is "secondary" i.e. considered after all the five elements have been matched to see which name brings upon the best "heaven luck". Usually, it is strongly recommended that we try not to change our name once we are older. Especially in an English speaking or our commerce uses English most of the time. Thus, for example, in Singapore, even if you change your name, most likely your colleagues or friends are still going to call you "Cindy" and not your "new Mandarin" name. Therefore, unless one uses that "new name" all the time, then it would make the difference. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lisa, Honestly, planting a plant does not bring luck. But rather, it has more to do with the landscaping of a home. Locally in Singapore, many years ago (1970's) planting mango or even rambutan trees were very popular then. But, especially for the mango tree, once it matures in 10 to 20 years, it can grow very huge and often made the frontage of homes very "yin" as little light filters downwards. Where possible, from a Feng Shui point of view, avoid planting a tree where the tree trunk would one day "slices" the main door or a window of a home. The tree trunk is like a "butter" knife slicing thru - creating a poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angelia, Yes, I can understand your concern, here! Quote: Angelia T. wrote: I have serious concern about the flying stars at my main door of my house next month. The door is at the south sector, mountain star 9, water star 5, period star 2,annual star 5 and next month, the monthly star 9 is there. As a safety precaution, this year, it is not possible to "lock-up" such bad stars at the main door area. But, you can try to minimize or preventive measure, by:- 1. Stand immediately inside your unit, and face the main entrance door. Check for any "poison arrow" in particular; common issues include: any sharp corner of the passageway "slicing" towards your main door. Or did any neighbour place wooden poles (for hanging clothes" with the poles pointing towards your main door). Or did you by chance place any three pots of plants with trunks directly facing the main door. (The three trunks of a plant represents three joss sticks - often -lighted upat a wake). (This para 1 : is to check for any poison arrow applicable with or without any nasty flying star numbers.) If there is no issue, here, fine. 2. For this year, try to avoid: BRIGHT YELLOW at the main entrance door area. BRIGHT YELLOW may be in the form of the warm light that we may sometimes place at the lobby of the main entrance. No issue with Housing Board Flats (HDB) as all corridor lights are often cool day light. Thus, if there are any warm lights i.e. when turned on, looks yellow, then it is worthwhile as a (precaution) to change to cool day light. As #5 #2 are bad earth = yellow, we try to avoid, bright yellow in anyway at this sector. 3. Check again to see that we do not inadvertently paint the grille gate, main door, door frame or interior wall of the living room YELLOW. 4. Under the Five Elements concept: Fire fuels Earth. Thus if possible avoid BLOOD RED or chili red colours at the main entrance are especially if we already used YELLOW at that sector. For example, we have yellow (warm lights) and Red decorations at the frontage. If so, see if totally avoid bright yellow. If so, we may still retain red decorations e.g. "Red banner" or two red lanterns. 5. For such nasty "horrid" flying star numbers especially #5 x 2, moving metal can be used to constantly destroy or neutralise it. Thus, again, it is worthwhile to seriously consider a 6 hollow rod wind chime at the main entrance area. Alternatively, if there is a nearby chiming clock around this area, would be good. 6. In addition, space clearing is also good at this area. Keep the place clean and generally bright. 7. However, must avoid any renovations or even minor works at the South sector for this lunar year. 8. Need not escalate further as in general, the above is good enough. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Quote: Anonymous wrote: When determining the directions in a room, do we just read from a compass? Coz I read that in feng shui, 0deg is the south. This makes me think that I need to invert the readings of a compass. Try not to be confused with the Chinese Luopan often used by Feng Shui practitioners where not exactly "0 degrees = south" but rather, the Chinese Luopan has a marking South-North. If you do not personally use the Chinese Luopan to take a compass reading, frankly, and for the purpose of convenience, many Feng Shui websites, books and calculators have already, properly made it easy for the lay person. Thus, for example, in this website, you can simply use any of the regular compass(es) to take a reading. Therefore "Don't invert the compass!" unless one is using a Chinese luopan! Or if a site specifically state that their compass (readings) are reversed!. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Thus this sample image shows that especially for many condos in Singapore, they have a sitemap with a NORTH marking on the site plan. Merely locate one's layout plan and superimpose it on the layout plan to get the "North-South" marking. Inverting such a marking is thus wrong.

Dear Deepti, 1. In general, this can be considered "inauspicious" based on common sense approach to Feng Shui. 2. The idea, here is because, any home that is lower than it's surroundings e.g. such as roads, may in some instances of heavy rain mean flooding for such "lower" homes. Hopefully there are not only proper drainage but also also, especially for some homes that relies on drainage to rivers (to the mouth of the sea). In many instances, such homes are affected by high tides. 3. Other than this, since no two homes are similar, each home has to be looked at in it's own merits or (Feng Shui merits). Such as where is the facing direction of the home etc... 4. There are also concerns for some homes that are at a "cliff side" or at a slope or below a slope; hopefully no major soil eroison often caused partially by heavy (extra) heavy rain fall. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Deepti G. wrote: In september 1st week 2007 a road was built in front of our house as a result few houses which are old buildings became lower than the level of the road in front of there house.they are lower by a feet or a feet and a half.

Dear Anon, Some information on wind chime(s):- 1. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, six represents "big metal". 2. Thus we often hear advice such as: - hang a set of six coins tied with red string or - hang a six hollow rod wind chime 2. As six represents "big metal", this big metal is particularly used to neutralise #2 sickness #5 misfortune /sickness and #3 quarrels/conflicts/lawsuits etc.. 3. A proper wind chime must not be colourful i.e. especially rainbow colours. 4. A wind chime should usually be made of: a. entirely copper plated (metallic) : traditional looking ones have a pagoda (trigram or 8 sided roof) with a ancient coin hung as the clinger. Some of these metallic (copper plated types) are very heavy and unless there is a gale force or tornado wind, it is not going to make a sound. 5. The wooden roof , six hollow alluminium rod and a wood clinger. This type of wind chime often makes the "most noise". The idea is that if a sector has very bad #5 or a combination of #5 with #2 with #9 etc.. then "making noise" or constant metal sound helps to neutralise bad earth #5. 6. Bad yellow earth #5 : the most effective cure is to use "constant" metal such as a "light weight" wind chime to constantly neutralise it. 7. Some use a grand father clock in a home to use it's constant chime to neutralise it. 8. Thus, a light weight wind chime has advantages especially in an open space and NOT a bedroom. 9. Ideally, if it is a bedroom, we try not to use a light weight one as it may make unwanted noise and cause us sleep distrubance. 10. Wind chime should not be used ina yin sector or if our home is next to a graveyard etc... Quote: Also, with the wind chime, some say 6 metals rods and wood for other parts is better than all metal. Please also enlighten. 11. Chi Lins 11.1 Many (in fact) all of these items are commercial products. 11.2 Use it more as a decorative item than "in the name of Feng Shui". 11.3 Even for Chinese, many of these commercial products are newly invented: The principal purpose of such a product is to make a large dent in our pocket (in the name sake of Feng Shui). 11.4 During my parents time or grand or grand-grand parents time, many of such products are not even in a normal Chinese home. 11.5 The key success to these products are that they are manufactured very cheaply and sold to us : highly marked up! 11.6 Buy it if you like it, place it left right, side bottom, frankly does not make any difference! The sellers just sell it, and none of these come with a guarantee that within XXX days, you will get a wind fall. 12. However, some people, place hope on it. And buy it to feel comfortable, thats all! It is like some people buy lottery, with the hope that tommorrow, their luck changes... 13. Some sellers even charge a "bomb" for cleansed items. Thus all these items have one thing in common: $$$$. It makes you depart with your hard earned $$$$. Thats all! 14. Why are these commercial products so popular? It enriches the pocket of the seller! And it gets close to our foolish thinking that we can get great "returns" out if it.... Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I read ona few websites that the items for fengshui needs to be cleansed, how doI do it? Also, there are differing opinions about where to place the3 chi lins, some say outside, while others say just inside thedoor - facingthe directions of the 3 killings. Can you please tellme what is correct?

Dear Moon, Please see attachment. Is it possible to re-arrange the table as shown in the attachment or move your work table to a proper direction under marking "A". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Sitting facing one's good direction is considered as "Nice-to-have" and not a "must-have". Thus, as much as we have read that we should sit facing our good direction, but many of us do not have this opportunity to do so. One way is to see if possible all four of you can or some of you can sit to beneifit your good directions. It is good to just convey this to your three other team mates whether, they want to consider this option. (It may or may not necessarily work out for all). 2. From what you had mentioned, you have limited space to work on. Given that there is no option to change; frankly, there is no miracle cure in Feng Shui for this. Especially most of us do not really like also to sit with our back against the wall. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, As your personal particulars quoted to him remains unchanged, then most likely he may have made a mistake in the calculation. As once the ba zi has been properly calculated, the readings will not change. Thus, in my opinion, he may most likely have a made a mistake somewhere. As it is certainly strange to see a reading change in two different sessions for the same person. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ren, Since your home is rectangular shaped, a square grid chart can be used, here. Frankly, there should not be a major issue if we use the square grid or pie chart method. What is more important for the 8 mansion is (try to forget) all the lines or square grid : and simply focus on trying to seat facing your "prosperity" or "excellent" sector. If you are a west group person, then try to face any of the two: prosperity or excellent direction. For an east group person, and if you have not already purchased your work table, can purchase a table that faces (tilted) south. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ang, 1. The segmented pieces of mirror is acceptable. 2. If you do not want to dismantle the mirror, is there any possibility of installing a day curtain at the window facing the mirror? If so, this is the best solution - if the curtain is pulled down all the time? Alternatively, installing a blind or draw-down roller blind in another alternative. Otherwise, yes it is particularly bad to reflect the staircase. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Feng Shui in many instances can "boost" the luck for conception. Frankly, it depends greatly on location, location, location. Many who had seen success are those where many good Flying star numbers under the "mountain" star can be activated. For any home, HDB or landed property, proper accessment can be made to determine and activate Flying star numbers: 1. #8- current prosperity star: Mountain Star #8 and or Water Star #8 2. #9 - future prosperity star (This star (if possible) should be activated for middle aged couples trying to conceive. 3. #1 - future prosperity star. Usually effective if the Mountain star #1 is activated. Thus, one do not need to do a major renovation. As seen above, Flying Star Feng Shui, has been used with great effect to boost conception luck. And usually a full Feng Shui audit, will help to improve overall luck and neutralise bad sha qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi I have bought a resale flat two years ago, and has done a simple renovation. Have been trying for family planning since last year, but no good news so far. I would like to know if feng shui can help in improving the chances of conceiving. Dear Anon, In my opinion, as you had mentioned that there is a difference in hour of birth given. If the hour given is still within the same period e.g. between 11am to say 1pm; 1 to 3, 5 to 5 etc.. then there should not be any difference in the readings. For example, if you had earlier quoted that your time of birth is 1.30am and subsequently told him /her that it is now 2.30am, then your time of birth remains the same i.e. between 1 to 3am. But if your time of birth is radically different e.g. you had earlier given as 1.30am but on the second session, it is 1.30pm, then there may be some differences in the reading given. (The differences may be slight or great depending on other components in your bazi). Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi, I have recently consulted a fengshui master for a couple of things.I went for 2 separate sessions. When I asked him, he said that it was because one is for lifereading and the other is for wealth, thus there will be a difference in the ba zi number. Is this correct? Will one's ba zi changed because we are asking abt different things? Notably, my year's, month's, day's ba zi is the same except for my hour's. Pls advise. Thank you.

Dear Steven, Generally, it is very common to live in a home where someone has died in the home. Often, if death is due to naturalcauses especially old age, no worries, here. For old homes, it is best to avoid having any of the posessions left by the person who had died e.g. his cupboard or any antique items. Sometimes, we are not sure what kind of items are left behind, if so, when we purchase such a home, try to get "vacant" posession of the home. And not keep such items. For those who can apply or use Flying Star Feng Shui; one way is to avoid an imbalance caused by too many YIN stars in a sector. Yin Flying star numbers are: 2, 4, 7 and 9. For example, if a sector has MS #2 WS #7 base #9; then this sector is considered to have excessive YIN stars. And if this sector is a bedroom and if it is dark and dim then there may be a possibility of YIN spirits in some homes. Thus look out for any combinations of 2, 4, 7 and 9. As these needs to be addressed by making that location brighter. In my opinion, throughout history, there are now so many homes where there are many generations or outsiders purchasing such a home. And natural deaths are common in such homes. Natural deaths include:terminal illness e.g. cancer; heart attacks andother illness. But if the death is unnatural: suicide, murder occuring in that home. Although you are an SE facing person, the good thing is that the home is a SW facing home. SW facing homes especially those that had flown to under Period 8, have one of the best Feng Shui qi around. (Exceptthat it requires toneutralise sickness stars at the front and back of the home). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, as you have mentioned, your dorm room is squarish. Many leaders (in the industry) started like yourself staying in a dorm. More importantly, mentally, one would have an idea of how, one's "work" flow is like. Asyour dorm serves both as a place of sleep and "study", try to work out the best layout based on your personal feel, liking and "habits". Since you are doing work on a laptop, some of us may feel comfortable working from our bed, while others may work better sitting on a proper table and chair. You have to see your habit and try to maximize your layout to the way you study and sleep. Some of us work better facing a window, while others may feel distracted. Again, all your personal preferences should be considered and not what "others" tell you to do. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a basic square dorm room. The units that definitely does not have a poison arrow are thoseof #27, #28, #19 and #20 and #11 and #12 and #35 and #36. Usually for high floors, it will usually not be affected by the enclosed pool effect. Most concern for the pool effect are thoseespecially for 1st to 8th floor. In addition, most of the time, it will affect babies between a few months old to 6 months (respiratory problems). For adults it depends. #18 and #21 will getsharp angle of #19 and #20 correspondingly. A simple, car side view convex mirror can be used strategically at locations where the poison arrows are pointed at... without resorting to the use of a ba gua mirror is a simple fix.
