  1. 1. Technically, if one wants to match an animal sign with the other; then the logo of a dragon:- 1.1 Is Tiger compatible with Dragon:- YES! http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/areference/ctidr.htm Considered a very good pairing. 1.2 Is Ox (Cow) compatible with Dragon:- NO! http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/areference/coxdr.htm 1.3 If one wants to use a prominent logo like the dragon; and the dragon happens to be one of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs then you may have to refer to the above. Paul W. wrote: Hi, I'm setting up a business related to education (teaching/ training) with a friend. I'm of strong wood element (tiger year) and my partner is of weak metal (cow year). I'm thinking of incorporating: yellow, brown & white colours with a drawing that "resembles" a dragon into our company logo; the body of the dragon has wavy lines to replace the scales ( I suppose wavy lines = water element) . Will it be suitable for our business, my partner & I? Looking forward to your advice. Paul Wangchuk 2. The yellow (earth) and white (metal) colours are suitable for both of you. 2.1. However since you mentioned that you are a strong wood element then you should try to avoid using brown. As brown is considered as a wood element and would further inflame strong wood element which is not ideal. 2.2. Here, one can subsitute with the fire element: red, pink or purple. 2.3. Thus for both of you; the best colours are:- Metal (White or silver or gold) = beneficial for both of your element Earth (Yellow, cream or beige) = beneifical for both of you element Fire (Red, pink or purple) = benefits only yourself (strong wood) 2.4. You may have to scrap the use of the dragon as wavy = water but water further inflames or fuels strong wood which is not favourable for yourself and even your partner.
  2. There are various Flying Star jargon like: Palace star, Mountain Star, Water Star... and their various formations...
  3. 1. Frankly, the main concern is that of placing an altar with it's back sharing the toilet wall. 2. For example; this applies to both Chinese altars of various gods and even some Catholics who have a small "symbolic" altar. 3. Otherwise, any other concerns has more to do with personal feelings or personal sentiments: in your case a deep concern of placing family photos say on wall mounts. 4. Given the layout plan that you had provided; in-fact, there are many who had placed their dining table next to the toilet wall or sharing the wall -
  4. Did the yellow skinned cave-men or cave-people really invented Shapes and Forms Feng Shui? Don't always believe what I say! Do a SEARCH, please!
  5. 1. Go re-read this thread as to the differences between Shapes and Forms vs Flying Star. 2. More importantly, go search for "Shapes and Forms". 3. In my opinion, if you only know, eat and sleep upon Flying Star Feng Shui; then it's a real pity... as I had already clearly mentioned in the previous thread to this: " One can live without Flying Star but cannot live without Shapes and Forms". 4. Those who only practicise Flying star is only superficial in the knowledge of Feng Shui. 5. Another clue: As our human brain: have left and right hemisphere; go check out whether YOUR Flying School belongs (appeal)to the LEFT or RIGHT brain. While the Shapes and Forms is vice-versa.
  6. Stacy T. wrote: I would appreciate if you can illustrate and enlighten me on cases where lamposts can be considered apoison arrow and how it can be circumvented. Thank you. Please, there is already sufficient resources AND ILLUSTRATIONS & even picures under this forum alone on this single topic and it is not rocket science. Use the search feature on the TOP LEFT frame of this forum.
  7. Further to what I mentioned; these are more considerations:- 1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui can be used to look at a country, a city, a town, the landscape of the town; the site and the building. 2. While generally, Flying Star is more "micro" in it's approach. It often applies more to a SITE; (not landscape); the PLOT;the BUILDING and within the FOUR WALLS of the building. 3. Look at it this way, ONLY after we obtain a plot of land and if we intend to build from scratch; try to fine-tune our building (e.g. home) : it's facing directions; where to lock up bad stars or enhance good stars via planning where is the living room, bedrooms, toilets and other areas. 4. Shapes and Forms is truly "Global" as it can be used for both MACRO and MICRO Feng Shui. While many take advantage of the Flying Star as a "fine-tuning" instrument". 5. In this bigger picture; it is much like a good radio. We first tune in to a channel via Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; and then "fine-tune" the strength of the channel via Flying Star Feng Shui. Get it? Got it?
  8. 1. In a previous message; you mentioned that you are so into Flying Star Feng Shui; 2. If you are so into this Flying Star "stuff" then you could draw a Flying Star Chart of the home:- 2.1 Interpret the 20 Year Flying Star combinations: paying attention to numbers like #3 and #5. 2.2 Check the 81 combinations of the mountain star with water star interpretation. For example, see a small extract showing the interaction of Mountain Star #4 with Water Star #3. 3. Even if one wants to "eat and sleep" with Flying Star should be well versed in all aspects of the Flying Star Feng Shui". 4. The saying goes " a little knowledge is like no knowlege.. and often .. a dangerous thing". 5. In addition; one cannot simply eat and sleep on Feng Shui alone...
  9. So long as the "top-view" it ain't look like a missing corner; whatever material that one uses to outline the house with say glass or concrete is in-material.
  10. 1. In my opinion, you really have a long long way in understanding the true meaning of Feng Shui. 2. Traditional Feng Shui consists of:- 2.1. The Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2.2. The Compass School: which consists of the Eight House (4 Good/Bad) and The Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. Please ponder over theseFIVEstatements: 3.1 "One can live without Flying Star but cannot live without Shapes and Forms Feng Shui". 3.2Merely "eating and sleeping on Flying Star Feng Shui alone does not necessarily mean success!" 3.3 "If ever Flying Star Feng Shui clashes with Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; then, it is better that Flying Star Feng Shui drop dead, first. Hail to the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui". 3.4 "Even if your home iscovered in Flying Star "gold"; or within the four walls of your home; but when one steps outside the home and every other thing is collapsing; then go on eating and sleeping on Flying Star Feng Shui - make my day, here!" 3.5 "Flying Star Feng Shui is not an EAT ALL! In food, we must have variety for a balanced diet. For example, if Flying Star Feng Shui does not contain vitamin C; this lack of vitamin Cleads toscurvy; the symptoms are:muscle weakness, swollen and bleeding gums, loss of teeth..." 4. Yeah.. indeed; you have lots of mountains to climb before you can understand "good Feng Shui principles" .
  11. Here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. If the breadwinner and spouse have already stayed in the new or resale home, especially if they have: 1.1. Used the built‑in stove to cook a meal 1.2. Taken a bath there 1.3. Slept overnight in the new or resale home 2. If all three of these activities happened on the same day, then there’s really nothing more to discuss — it’s already considered “moved‑in.” 3. If you bring in a used washing machine but don’t actually use it, then in a practical sense, it’s generally fine. 4. The same idea applies to an old or existing dining table brought into the new home. As long as you don’t use it for proper dining yet, it’s technically alright. 5. For example, some people love antique furniture. If you bought a set of antique dining tables and chairs, it’s still “new” to you because you’ve never used it before. It’s no different from having a shop deliver a new sofa or fridge. 6. Again, there’s really no strict rule here. 7. And honestly, if you believe in your god, do you think your god would be so petty as to get upset just because you brought in old furniture—or because you moved in an existing altar? Would your god demand a brand‑new altar? 8. For the die‑hards, the “kiasu” (afraid to lose), or worse, the “kiasee” (afraid to die), then just make sure you don’t bring in anything old, lor… 9. There’s no absolute right or wrong in this. 10. It’s worth thinking about this: Frankly, if my god were so petty, I wouldn’t even consider bringing that god into my new home.
  12. 1. Frankly, you may have to make do with your kitchen as for an already built up home; it is not so simple to say: lets relocate the kitchen of sorts. 2. These are more resources on the kitchen:-http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Stove_%26_More 3. You may have to try to squeeze as much luck from other areas than just to put your "love-nest" egg in one single"kitchen basket"... The Concept of Maximizing Marks
  13. WARNING: THIS PRODUCT IS FOR FE-MALES ONLY (MALES GET-LOST!) Your iPAD needs protection and if you lead an active lifestyle; this is it:- http://www.etsy.com/listing/41296440/imaxi-the-original-apple-ipad-casecover
  14. Many condos enter from the main entrance. But this main entrance may open usually to the "kitchen" area first. While on the opposite end could be the living room. Often, the living room area ie. standing inside the living room looking out of the windows; could be the facing direction of a home for the purpose of applying say the Flying Star Feng Shui.
  15. 1. If you refer to "stars" as "stars" belonging to the Flying Star theory, then:- 1.1. For example, a sector may have Mountain Star #5 with Water Star #9 and base star #2. 1.2. In this simple illustration:- #5 = earth element (significance = misfortune, sickness) #9 = fire element (simply fire element) 1.3. In this example, the water star #9 is not good as the combination of #5 with #9 means that under the Five Elements concept Fire #9 fuels or triggers a more nastier #5. Making the misfortune sickness worse-off! Than if there is no #9 fire to fuel it.
  16. 1. Further to what I had mentioned; please see attachment. 1.1. Illustration 1: Here, in a zero base or start from scratch building a home; one could have the facing direction of the home as shown in the attachment. While the main door serves merely as an entry into the home. 1.2. In several parts of Singapore: Mount Sinai Rd area, some homes have this type of unique profile. See Illustration 2.
  17. 1. If it is strictly based on "superficial" Feng Shui; then of course; it is said that the "odds are against" such a home. 2. This area you mentioned has more to do with Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And even under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui: there is such thing as "Commonsense or cow-sense" factors. 3. In fact, I know of several areas in Singapore where homes are below a slope. For example, some homes at Holland Road area also have a sloping back. For example, for such homes; you enter the home at a straight level. But there are staircase that brings one down to the family room, guest bedroom etc... 4. Why commonsense? If every other home or site next to your home is firmly "grounded" or solid foundation; then this is a plus point. What is most concerned under this commonsense or cowsense is that in some situations; such as a heavy downpour; erosion or landslide takes place. 5. A home at lower ground especially close to a canal in heavy rain fall countries like Singapore.. means that there is a higher likelyhood that if no proper soil treatment is done.. higher chance of termite infestation. 6. Your photo is not clear. It may even be from what I see that your facing direction is the "other side" of the home. Where the photo taken side may even be considered the back of your home. If so, technically, your "back-side" of the house may even be higher than the frontage. Thus... fulfill one of the Shapes and Forms good condition of having a higher ground behind the home. 7. As from your picture, it looks like the other side seems to face trees or forest area... 8. One cannot direclty discount such a home completely. Other factors include how rain drains out of your property; other factors include: Flying Star Feng Shui etc.. 9. Like I mentioned, in Singapore, if we do zero base or start from scratch build a new home; we may consider the living room, activity area on the other side of the photo instead of where you enter the home. If so, the home's sitting with a "mountain support".
  18. 1. In many of the recent messages, I had stressed that Shapes and Forms has a critical component: Qi. Here, with much understanding of how qi flows e.g. in a room. 2. The other critical situation is the "Ming Tang" or Bright Hall effect. For example; the frontage or even the main door area if possible should have some clear space. Here, clear space means that there is a likelyhood that qi can "collect" at that position. 3. Your question is very wide and "it depends". 4. The purpose of Flying Star Feng Shui is to see where the most yang Qi is located. And this is most likely the higher chance that qi can move into a home. 5. Here, the common denominator of both the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui and Flying star = QI. 6. There is no right or wrong answers: as to which is more important : Main door qi or most brightest area. 7. What is more important is where the most likelyhood that qi can flow into the majority "facing" of a home. 8. For example, for a landed property, you have the main door and often the living room is in this area and the windows are also most likely at this locale. Thus it makes sense that if qi were to flow IN or OUT of the home; this is the higher chance or "bet". 9. Good Geomancers often stand at a distance say from the home and observe the "home". They are figuring out where likely the owners may frequently have openings in their home.
  19. 1.Frankly, in Singapore many temples have both space constraints and rare occasions where there is a request to take in tablet(s). 2. Thus, certainly, you will have a very hard time finding a temple to taken your grand parents in. 3. Actually it boils down to money or (a large) donation. Otherwise, it is near impossible, here. ========================================== Other matters relating to urns + tablet 1. Many of the very popular sites in Sin Ming are (were) already fully "booked" or full house thus often they are not prepared to assist you. 2. In fact, you can actually seek help from "agents" for the various niches in Singapore. 3. I have no relation to people like : Singapore Casket company; but you can try approaching them to help you seek a new home for your great grand parents. 4. Frankly, in Singapore, it boils down to the 4 letter word: SGD $,$$$.00. 5. In fact, depending on your grand parents religion; there are many different niches or sites that cater for all sorts of religion. 6. For govern operated sites: Mandai : should be able to get a niche. This is the government "controlled" and it is not possible to be turned down. 7. In Choa Chu Kang alone there are:- Choa Chu Kang Columbarium; there is also the newer Buddhist columbarium cum Nirvana Memorial. 8. For Christians, there is the Christian Columbarium called: "The Garden of Remembrance". The lease is "short" but again they are still less than 50 percent occupied. And again it boils down to $,$$$.00 9. Many of the sites have niches for ONE, TWO and or even THREE. Again it is about $$$$. For example, in the Garden of Rememberance; there were millionaires that take up as many as 6 and 9 niches by combining neighbouring niches... 10.The rationale for approaching a "middle-man" is either to select an urn (if one does not have one already) and/OR also to get a plague done in their remembrance. Thus, you can check the directories for people like Singapore Casket. They also can advice you to get in touch with certain priests or pastor depending on your religion (denomination). 11. Cremation is neutral thus.. no effect on the decents. Some even consider sprinkling the ashes into the sea...
  20. These are some of the popular attractions within Chinatown...
  21. The Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple located at 244 South Bridge Road. (S)058793. This temple is within the heart of Singapore Chinatown. It is Singapore's oldest and largest Hindu temple. The first temple was built as far back as 1827. And the current brick temple was built (re-built) around 1843. While Chinese temples are usually adorned with twin door guards; the Hindus, have a different set of door "guardians".. Take a look at (cheerful) them...
  22. Under Malay culture; because they use their hands both for eating and doing "business"; This is what a typical fully customised "business" centre of the Malays are about... There is always a washing pipe.. close-by. In the "poo-poo" cubicle; there is always a water pipe and a small plastic container to contain water. Can you see the white plastic container beside the "throne seat?" And NO! The washing pipe on the right side of each urinal is not meant to wash a Male person's "JOYSTICK"... It is for him to wash his hands after he had aimed, shot and place his joystick to "safe mode"...
  23. Wow! The first thread on this subject was 10 years ago.. a decade ago... time does fly....!
  24. Further to what I had mentioned, I really dread living in any one of these three developments (during down wind):- The Belleforte Leong On Building Monville Mansion Please see link below, showing these three developments nearby to a petrol station:-http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel_id_17151/travel_site_1/ Usually most affected is when your neighbours don't open any of their windows and you are around 1st to the 5th storey...often visible of the petrol station. Here, the main concern is not of a fire, at the station but rather the FUMES .... from underground tanks and daily consumer pumping of petrol or diesel
