1. Bamboo trees grow in clusters, unlike normal trees with only one trunk, which is their major drawback. 2. If damaged at ground level, bamboo trees may develop cavities the size of a Singapore 50 cent coin, which can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes if not addressed. 3. Despite common belief, bamboo trees are easy to grow and do not shed many leaves on a daily basis, which is a positive aspect. 4. Please refer to the attached documents: These trees can be a nuisance to their neighbors, as they have already encroached on neighbor "A" property. 4.1. In the future, plot B may need permission from plot A to access and trim these trees.

Chinese Culture: Bats, bats and more bats (Part 2)

Location: Soup Restaurant @ Vivocity If one bat is considered as bringing one good fortune. Very appropriate that Soup Restaurant had chosen this motif instead of other alternative motifs. Next time if someone asks; it is not about Batman the cartoon superhero... -

Plant watering system: micro drip
Cecil Lee replied to Cecil Lee's topic in Current Affairs & Lifestyle
Below is an analog macro drip module. Used by a condo to water their plants. The macro drip simply means the water pipes are larger. Thus meant to / or capable of watering trees. The digital ones are more costly and some can water an infinite number of times. While most analog ones can only allow two or three watering per 24 hours. If one's garden is the "open air" type; a rain sensor module can even be hooked up to it. Thus should it rain at a specific time; the digital module will know it. And stop delivering water at that time. -
Please see attachment. Outdoors especially below the block/stack/unit: compass readings can be taken from X to Y and vice versa and/or J to K and/or H to I or vice versa. Indoors, compass readings also need to be taken such as from marking in blue A to B (in several of the places). Indoors, should also try to take compass readings in green C to D or vice versa. The readings at the walkway passage way is not compulsory. If one is a hardcore old style conservative Geomancer or their followers can continue to take readings from the main door at green "C" looking towards "D". Resources on better understanding what is the frontage or "main door" in the modern day..

1. You may if you want to. 2. However, my purpose is depending on a clients : block / stack /unit to take a reading for that specific one. Here, it is acceptable to take readings for combined Block 154 with 156. For those @ Blocks 158 with 160, then a separate reading is taken for this pair. Similarly, for pair Block 162 with 164 a separate reading. 2.1. I have mentioned the purpose of the reading. While standing at a remote area to figure out the reading is up to you. This method is unacceptable to us (geomancers) especially for this development as we are expected to do more to confirm .... 2.2 On-site and close-up and with a reliable compass, many readings will be taken. Such as:- 2.2.1 Readings within the actual unit itself e.g. standing inside the main door looking outwards. And a host of readings e.g. standing inside the living room looking outwards of the balcony; from bedroom looking out of the bedroom windows. 2.3. Below the specific block. (See simple attached sample illustration) By taking systematic readings along the X and Y axis of the block plus readings within the unit. 2.3.1 In this example: If I were to determine the compass readings especially of Block 156 stack 26: In addition to the interior unit readings; I would Standing at marking in RED "A" taking a reading towards "B" and vice versa. Other readings include standing at Blue coloured marking "C" to take a read towards "D" and/or "E" etc... 2.4. The above just cannot be done remotely away from the actual block. Fundamentally, as the term Compass School suggest, eventually, readings must be taken WITHIN the unit, also. 3. Please note that in may other developments; this is not necessary as often even if there is a larger margin of error even as far as several or more degrees wrong; it is a clear cut case of the unit falling under a specific Flying Star direction.

1. In my opinion, a solid brass compass; Low-tech but accurate. 2. Photo shows the solid brass compass + I had added a good quality Protractor below it. The purpose of this protractor is to determine a degree up at 1 degree increments. 3. Thus, this is a combined compass + protractor add-on. 4. I had this set-up for many years. And one can even see the yellowish aging of the protractor. Previously, it was clear-white. 5. I will be using this especially @ The Brownstone EC

Growing bamboo trees on a balcony Certain trees are not appropriate at one's apartment balcony. For example; bamboo trees need as much height as possible. In this photo, the trees have even exceeded the height of the owners balcony ceiling. It is dangerous to trim the trees now. Even if the upper floor neighbour gave them permission to do so. Cannot also image the amount of falling leaves to neighbors below...

These are some considerations: 1. My main concern was hopefully, the units do not land between a N1 or a NW3 and correspondingly it is not between a S1 and SE3. 2. Thus if the individual block / stack /unit can be confirmed as belonging to either a distinct Flying star direction e.g. N1 or S1; then the "norm" applies. 3. To confirm whether it is a N1 / NW3? for example; one should best use a good compass. For example I mentioned a solid brass one or 3.1. I just checked the website one.map.sg On the bottom right corner of their map they have mentioned " data.gov.sg " And this should be the defector standard to confirm the compass direction if Para 3 above fails to provide an accurate reading. 4. By reading your message; you are quite certain that the blocks / stacks are aligned N1 or S1. 4.1. As I mentioned in an earlier thread; I have to go down individually and to the specific block to confirm the readings. It does not technically means that taking a reading of one block means that it applies to all others. Sometimes the builder align each block just a little bit off from others. 4.2. The naked eye cannot detect such deviations. Here, even Para 3.1. need to be looked carefully or individually - as per Para 4.1 above. 5. If a layout falls within e.g. N1 or S1; then:- The Concept of Maximizing Marks or other concepts applied:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks

For info, the forum reviews are basic and an overview. Frankly what you mentioned is beyond the advice of the forum. -
1. Can or cannot buy is to determine which stacks are better or ranked in that order. 2. Thus the review will show ranking:- a. 1st Choice = stack #03 b. 2nd Choice = stack #02 c. 3rd Choice = stack #05. 3. After which one may use this to find out which unit-level is better:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/hselist-houseno.htm (Overall, this has lesser weightage than a better stack). Hope that helps. Free report:-

1. Please see attachment. 1.1 Red arrow points to stack #2 1.2 Yellow arrow points to stack #12 2.1 The above are considered as stacks in a block. 3. Compass School Feng Shui = East or West Group person relies only on a. Year of birth and b. Gender. 4. However if it is combined with Ba zi Feng Shui then on occasions one's element can change. 5. Thus time of birth is considered as "Nice-to" have. Frankly if really don't have then leave it.

Part 2: The Alps Residences at Tampines Avenue 10 - These flat roof-lines are also potential poison arrows if there are no trees between it and the block/stack/unit. 1. The distance between it and the block/stack/unit should also be taken into consideration when considering whether it is a poison arrow or not. 2. Looks like for this development, be extra careful (if any) of especially purchasing what looks like 2nd storey units, here

Part 1: The Alps Residences at Tampines Avenue 10 & roof-lines of the ancillary buildings/trellis 1. The roof-lines of the ancillary buildings / trellis at The Alps Residences is considered unfriendly. 2. Please see attachment. 2.1. For building "A" which is the club-house cum function room; the building is very close to a particular block/stack. 2.2. I have highlighted in yellow a unit at 2nd storey that may have a potential poison arrow aimed towards it from the club-house roof-line. 2.3. There is another trellis court-yard. Which I had marked in red as "B". This court-yard is also close to a block/stack/unit. Thus it may be a potential sha qi or poison arrow depending on whether there are trees between it and this court-yard. (I have not actually studied the full layout. Thus if this court-yard building is not aimed towards a unit; then no issue.) 3. If there are trees with large foliage between either building A and the block/stack/unit; then this may also not be an issue.

Bedok Residences Condo - Which units are lucky today?
Cecil Lee replied to Cecil Lee's topic in Singapore Property Review
Bedok Residences Condo and Flying Star Feng Shui 1. Occasionally, the North compass marking on the sales brochure may differ from the markings on streetdirectory or onemap.sg. The sales brochure’s North marking can sometimes be inaccurate. 2. I compared both the streetdirectory and the sales brochure for Bedok Residences, and both confirm that the units face either the Flying Stars N1 or S2 directions. 3. If you’re interested in purchasing a new stack or unit, always verify the direction using a street directory, whether it’s a paper copy or an online version. 3.1 Even if the block outline hasn’t been drawn on the street directory, you should still be able to find the correct direction for straightforward site plans like Bedok Residences. -
Bedok Residences Condo - Which units are lucky today?
Cecil Lee replied to Cecil Lee's topic in Singapore Property Review
Bedok Residences Condo and Flying Star Feng Shui Most stacks and units in this development face either the Flying Stars Period 8 N1 or S1 directions. N1 orientation features the auspicious double 8 stars at its frontage, making it especially favorable if there is a water feature present. The most auspicious stacks are #33, #34, #35, #40, #41, and #43. It is ideal if the master bedroom is located in the northeast sector, which benefits from the positive star combination of MS#6 and WS#1. A bedroom in the east sector is also favorable, especially if used as a study. Other sectors may have inauspicious stars and could require remedies. For S1 orientation, stacks such as #03, #04, #05, #09, #10, and #11 have the combined wealth stars MS#8 and WS#8 located at the rear of the unit. Unfortunately, these stars are often in the kitchen and yard area. It is beneficial if a bedroom is located in the east sector, as this is good for studying. If the main entrance is in the northeast, this is excellent due to the favorable combination of MS#1 and WS#6 stars in that sector.
