  1. These are some of the considerations: 1. Location, location and location 1.1. If the home / apartment has excellent or good Feng Shui; there is a lot of buffer for the homeowner/breadwinner. 1.2. Thus even if the facing direction is not as good; and because the home already has good Feng Shui; usually not a major issue. 1.3. But, even if the facing is a good direction for the person; it does not automatically mean that all is smooth sailing. For example, if the home is similar to a 10 year old 1,000cc car; even for a west facing person buying a NW facing home may face problems. 2. It is a bonus if the home's birth chart e.g. good Shapes and Forms plus Flying Stars are overall good + if the house is also suitable to the person NW facing for a west group person.
  2. If one is driving along Upper Paya Lebar Road, one cannot help to notice a crisp and bright building: This building is the Kim Loong Building: Under the Five elements concept: 1. Rectangular shape represents earth element. 2. Yellow also represents earth element. 3. The red stripes represent Fire element. Under the Five elements concept; fire supports earth. And this building is build to take advantage of it's surroundings by applying the Five elements concept by being a "strong" or bigger earth element. Although this Kim Loong building is located at LITTLE ROAD. It is not so little after all if we take into consideration the Five Elements Concept.
  3. Another nice: sprouting green beans
  4. The developer should have elevated the air-con ledge higher to present the soil and constant watering/rainfall / splashing of the sand onto the air-con ledge and the air-cons.
  5. Try to avoid buying a water feature that has an animal a frog, fish mouth etc... Those inanimate objects water feature are ok
  6. A red coloured main gate and a "chop-sticks style" main gate
  7. I love the nice touch of HDB Waterway Sunbeam at Punggol Drive. Stacks directly facing West and SW - such as that found at Block 664A Punggol Drive, Waterway Sunbeam =?are all installed with the overhanging roof to shade the units at least from afternoon sun usually around 12pm onwards to around even up to 3pm or 3.30pm depending on the height of the units within each stack. While the morning sun side i.e. easterly side does not need to have such a long overhang.
  8. With the extended overhang above this 2nd storey stack/unit at block 664A Punggol Drive; One can notice that even at around 3.30pm, the extended overhang roof helps to shade the fa?ade of this unit's room. However, in general, the lower the stack/unit; the greater the range of shade vs afternoon sun hours.
  9. This private development @18A Fort Road(under construction)comprising of a total of 12 storeys is tall and thin. Not because it is now clad in a green dust/protective screen that makes it a wood element; but instead, the characteristics of a wood building is that it is thin and (reasonably tall). Contrast this to the building seen to the right of the photo; The Meyer Residence; which is rectangular in shape and is considered as belonging to the earth element. Thus, this wood element building can take advantage of The Meyer Residence when it comes of age (TOP). P.S. Apologies if the building looks like it is leaning to the right. Blame it on my photo taking instead- Resource: http://forum.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.php

  15. A one of a kind main gate: Botanic Gardens. Look carefully at each gate's centre motif...
  16. Question: Master, may I do a quick check? Can son's bed be pushed back all the way to the wall where the window is? Reply: More to do with common sense then Feng Shui: 1. Installed grille? If not child can climb onto the window. 2. If windows open; strong winds and even some rain may come in. 3. If cigarette butt from top floor. If window always shut; no issue. Thus this has more to do with cow sense then Feng Shui.
  17. Where perhaps what the architect wants to highlight is more prominent when the building is viewed at night.
  18. Related: Which units are lucky at Skyville @ Dawson? +++ Even if an architect is only paid to design the interior layout; at least; the architect should try to put themselves "in the shoes of home owner". How true; always that: "We stay there, you don't applies!". Just take a look at this HDB 4 bedroom flat layout in some of the stacks of Skyville @ Dawson. (See attachment). A. THE LIVING ROOM 1. Although the living room width is of a generous or rather "too generous" size; instead; the architect should have should have an allowance at marking in red "A" for a reasonable sized dining table, there. 2. As a result of this no brainer layout; placing a small narrow dining table at C is a poor choice. And looks like one has to be "forced" to place the dining table at marking B = no choice! 2.1. Most of the time Chinese don't like especially for privacy issue; place the dining table facing the main door. Even if so, one may have to (and some say "forced to")place a partition .. to screen the dining table from the door. 2.2. In Feng Shui, if a dining table faces the passageway leading into the master bedroom;under symbolism; it is inauspicious if things like a scissor or forks or knifes or any sharp object faces the master bedroom door. Which may result in "accidents" and cuts for those sleeping in that bedroom. B. THE MASTER BEDROOM 3.1 The master bedroom is equally broad. But it is not feasible to place a full length wardrope at marking in red "F". If so, even if one uses a queen sized bed; the walkway to the master window is pretty tight. Might as well become a crab-and-a side by side crab crawl! 3.2. As there is a need to service the air con thru the window space at D, it is no longer practical to place a full length wardrope at D. Looks like only a wardrope can be placed at marking E. Even so, it cannot be too long. Else, if the corner is not rounded it becomes a poison arrow aimed towards the master bed.
  19. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" In my opinion, I much prefer an artwork that is in the shape of a meaningful "boat ; or boat-house" i.e. not the refugee type of boat is fair enough-?
  20. Flying Stars of Skyville @ Dawson BLOCK 88 What a nice (popular) number! = "88 = prosper, prosper" ======== Stacks 41 and 43 = facing N1 Stacks 33 and 35 = facing S1 BLOCK 87 ======== Stacks 25 and 27 = facing N1 Stacks 17 and 19 = facing S1 BLOCK 86 ======== Stacks 09 and 11 = facing N1 Stacks 03 and 01 = facing S1

  24. External Shapes and Forms is at the mercy of the external environment. Here, the architect of HDB Keat Hong Mirage (under construction) has cleverly placed a buffer i.e. the Multi-storey Car Park MSCP as a sandwich between the development and the nearby petrol station. A plus point, here. But not so fantastic for the development Sol Acres (under construction).
