Dear Erika, In my opinion, I consider this more an `environmental issue'. Perhaps, you may have to " discuss " with your neighour whether it is possible to `redirect' this air e.g. using a funnel away from your home. If not, maybe your local authories can help. Overall, this is `new' to Feng Shui i.e. the modern invention of an exhaust fan, but it is generally inauspicious (bad Qi) and you should try to resolve it. Dear Anon, Generally, when we select an auspicious date, usually, (for practical purposes) it should be the start-date. As mentioned, this definition is more practical and can easily be applied. For example, lets take the case of a fixed location. More often, many people select a good date and time to go-into a new home (initial - opening of the door). Thus, for example an auspicious date could be tommorrow between 7 to 8.59am. And a very inauspicious time is from say9am to 11am. Once we entered the home (and in your case) bordered the plane, then this is considered as in general auspicious, already. Thus if we spent more time in the home say after 9am, it does not ma…

Dear Alberto, To find out more about the North South Debate, please click on this link: http://www3dglobe.com/fs/addsites.htm#SOUTH Currently, no one has shown proof of the validity of the South Hemisphere model. Feng Shui can equally be applied both in the North and South. Dear Anon, Yes, in a global world, there are many practises in relating to "getting" rid of bad luck. Salt is used more widely in the west than the east or Far East. Although we use it to throw into used toilet when we get a re-sale home. So you are not wrong in coming down with using that practise of using salt. Here, in the Far East, our common way of "getting rid" of bad luck is also to get a bathe, first. And afterwards, (we already had prepared say a plastic basin/tub filled with local flowers and a few cut-up lime). So immediately after we had bathed (cleansed) ourselves, we would "flower bathe) by pouring this flower-lime-water onto our heads and let it flow …

Dear Anon, 1. The entrance (or main entrance) is considered as very important. As in many instances ; many Feng Shui practitioners consider this as the "mouth" of the house. Thus since this is the "mouth" of the house, it should not leak qi as what you had mentioned .. i.e. a direct path of qi "leaking" out directly towards a window or door. 2. Another consideration is that especially for a landed property, it is very inauspicious to open the main door (or entrance door) and also immediately see the toilet bowl. Or a direct window or opening. 3. Many "acceptable" toilets have at least sharing a wall with the external wall. This is acceptable. Which means that in many c…

In many countries, constructing a false ceiling using gypsium board material is a simple solution. Since you said no way to construct a false ceiling; then what? saw away the beam? Frankly,it is not like one is sitting under this beam 24 hrs / 7 days a year sort of thing? Such things are like some of the past messages that I had posted:- For example: Can you suggest any other way for all my 8 family members to sit in my saloon car? What the heck? after 5 members squeeze into the car, tie one family member on the roof? and another on the bonnet and the other place in the boot? Any suggestions? Go get a 8 seater MPV!

In my opinion, if your office is on the 17th storey, the external building (and it's spine) and the mrt tracks are not considered a poison arrow or a sha qi. In fact, if there is really a threat, it could be the lamp post as shown in the attachment - especially for lower floors. Since you are at 17th storey, it is impossible for this lamp post to be a poison arrow. Concentrate on improving the Feng Shui of the interior of the office, instead.

Dear Anonymous, Anonymous wrote: Hi, I know this may be a question that is not answered due to being superstition/omen. But here it goes- I just moved into a new office and found a dead bat, I removed it, what can I do? My birth is august 7, 1963 and this office is on the west side of the building. thanks for any assistance. As you mentioned, this is not really a feng shui issue. In this case, bats/rats etc are all pest. So there isn't any problem that is related to feng shui. The only thing is that you may feel or think it might be a bad omen to have found something dead especially when you move just move in. So maybe spend some time to clean up/disinfectthe place or …

Thanks for your sketch. As mentioned, previously; this has more to do with common sense then Feng Shui. For example; if there is a fire at the stove area; and since it is sharing the same wall as the "exit' stairs; don't want to have a flash fire at that location nor smoke coming out of that area...

Dear Serene, The purpose of the mountain star is symbolic of having a `mountain support' at the `back' of the house. For example, one must not activate a mountain, say at the main door. Here, it is like blocking clear space. Please see below:- It is good that you had added a divider between the main door and the window/balcony area. If not, there is a major leak. For the dining table, perhaps, you may not have drawn to scale. As it looks quite crammed where one of the chairs nearly meet the living room area. If it does, than, you may consider turning the table 90 degrees. I may be mistaken. If the current space is spacious, then, your current layout is ok. Yes, I can …

Dear Randy, Please see below: It is fundamentally more important to follow the Shapes and Form School e.g. the Four Symbolic Animals Concept i.e. have a solid support of the wall. In addition, it is nice to sleep with the head facing a good direction but this is secondary after sleeping in a good auspicious location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Scott, In case you need to some research paper on temples, perhaps, you can also consider looking for the following two books under Dr Evelyn Lip (a trained architect and lecturer) in libraries: Book 1: Feng Shui for Home Book 2: Chinese Geomancy A Layman's guide Publisher: Times Publishing Both books have good (authentic) references to ancient Chinese as well as some references/pictures of temples. It serves as a starting point to gather good information if you do need to put up a paper on it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anne, True Feng Shui is not like `Credit Card' Feng Shui. One do not need to `purchase' something in advance in the hope that spending such money would get one riches. If one is not sure of where to place a picture of a waterfall, one should try not to place it. The other method is if one feels comfortable about it and really like the picture and have to `urge' to place it at a location. Ideally, pictures of water falls should not be placed in a bedroom. The more professional method is to use e.g. Flying Star to check if a sector has balance or imbalance. This theory can be used to check if there is or do not have an imbalance. If there is an imbalance and it is cau…

Hi Angie, Anonymous wrote: Can I place a Fish Tank infront of the house main door? And it is theside of the fish tank facingthe main door. I believe that there is definately no issue in how you place your fish tank as long as the corners of the fish tankdoes not create a poison arrow or sha qi against other key areas in your home. As to whether it is auspicious to place it at your main door area of the home, then you will need to check with like the flying star analysis of your home to see if the stars present are suitable for having a fish tank. Such as if there is a water star 8, then yes most probably it will be an auspicious wealth sector. However, if it is a auspic…

You wrote: 1) May I know any particular colour of the shade or pattern of the shade? 1. If one further applies Flying Star Feng Shui, then plot a flying star chart. In the sample attachment, each bedroom's best colours are mentioned. Then if you want to apply them then use the best colours associated with that room. 2) If to put side table and lamp beside the bed, must it be two table and lamp on each side of the bed. If due to space constraint and put just one table and lamp on one of the side , is it ok? 2. Please apply Commonsense, here. If I am not mistaken, you have uttered your own reply to your question, please. Thus don't need a cow-sense geomancer for this rite…

These are some considerations: 1. For example, a CEO. He can be in-charge of many departments e.g. Accounting & Finance (metal), Marketing and Sales (Fire), Public Relations (Fire). 2. But ultimately his main CORE function is to GROW the company = Wood element. 3. So, other the industry that you are in; what are your core skills? You have ask yourself. What is your main or chief function. For example if you are suppose to develop a software or fine-tune it or make it work; then most likely "programming" or water element. 3.1. If you are there to SELL software then Fire element. 4. Nowadays, what it means that the industry one is in; may not be purely what a…

Dear Cecil, Thanks for being a wonderfully helpful guy that you are! Really appreciate your patience! I do have a few more questions with regards to my master bedroom and my balcony (because of this taiwanese fengshui show that brings up alot of scary stuff). First of all, Balcony. It seems that the balcony is supposed to be the career area of the owners of a house (or something like that), thus one should not make changes to the balcony (or sorts). Question: However (please see diagram below), since ours has kinda been removed into a living room extension cum cosy corner of sorts, is there a problem then? What rectification can we do? Should one really usually…

Dear Chris, Besides using the wind chime as "decorative" pieces or some use it to enhance Qi, the other uses include placing it to `neutralise' sha qi such the edge of a corner. The caution is to avoid placing a metallic wind chime at the Metal sectors i.e. West and NW. Plus the Devil's gate located at NE. Some FS practioners use it between the two bedroom facing doors as mentioned by you. Another method of counteracting this is to pave a screen in one of the bedrooms between the bedroom door and the room. It should preferably be around the height of the door. Warmest Regards, Cecil
