Dear Vincent, Frankly, I got so confused with your description. One moment you mentioned that your bedroom is in the West so that sector has star 5-1-2 (ie Mountain-Base/Time-Water). Later, you mentioned that you are sleeping pointing in the East direction which I presume you mean that your bedroom room though in the West sector of the house, but you are sleeping facing East. If so, why are you bring the Flying Star star East sector 1-6-6 (ie. Mountain-Base/Time-Water) information into consideration? Sleeping facing East direction does not mean that you have the 1-6-6 influence in the sector. Your bedroom sector since you mentioned is located in the West part of the …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: What cures can you suggest if the home that I would like to purchase and to bebuilt this year havebad room locations? Should I just look for another home plan?I am a North person, main door is facing North. The land and surrounding area is good. The builder's layout plan is as follows: What you need to understand that is that, there is no way you can fix a suitability issue. If a house does not fit you, then always best to look for another more suitable house. There is no way to correct this. You can attempt to improve other feng shui flaw to offset this. However, if a house does not fit you, it means you cannot get the maximum amount of luck…

Hi Adviser, From one of the free 8 house reports generated from your website, it is stated that Northwill beideal for storeroom or toilets as it's my spook direction. I'm born in rat year. But I read a book that for year 2006, those born in the year of Rat should not have a toilet occupying their north direction, or else career luck is adversely affected. The book states that by placingcrystals or growing plants inside such a toilet will reduce the bad effect. I happened to have a toilet occupying the north of my house. I'm Basically a sagittarian rat. Would like to hear your advice. Thank You. Gummy

1. Take a look at this link: http://www.geomancy.net/events/CDL_FS_Talk/talk_1_slide_19.htm 2. Frankly, you are only trying to apply "one miserable" concept of Feng Shui. 3. As the above link implies: there are many "styles" in Kung Fu and in Feng Shui; there are many concepts not just again : Feng Shui cannot rely only on the Eight House concept. 4. No wonder, drawing a parallel to Kung Fu, one would be beaten to a pulp if one applies one concept only... 5. The same goes, here.. 6. By "hook or by ...... " one has to apply more concepts then talk about realistic ways to either:- 6.1. Enhance qi and hey! 6.2. Also neutralise bad qi... The saying goes it takes two hands …

Dear Anon, 1. With so much information on Feng Shui, it’s understandable that it can be overwhelming—not just because of the amount, but also due to how all the pieces fit together. 2. When applying Feng Shui, it’s best to take a holistic approach by combining effective techniques from the various schools. 3. You mentioned the Eight House and Flying Star theories. Another important consideration is the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui. 4. Most of us don’t have major problems at home or in the office. But when problems do arise, it’s important to identify and address them. For some, the goal is to enhance the space and improve health, happiness, and …

Dear Himanshu, You should follow the graphical representation as shown below:- When a direction is WEST, you should read it as this way depending on where you are applying it:- 1. Working direction you should be in the position where WEST is your front while EAST is your back. 2. Sleeping position, is where you head is pointing to the WEST and feet to the EAST. 3. Bedroom location where the room is located to the WEST of the house. You can make use of the several bedroom location, bed direction, work direction and study direction free reports in the My FengShui section to help you determine these directions. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Silk, Please see below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: "free-advice Listmanager" To: Sent: Monday, August 14, 2000 7:13 AM Subject: Eight House Query In general, the Eight House Theory looks at: 1. How suitable a person is to the house. 2. Areas where one spent time at should preferably be a good sector for the person. As far as the Eight House theory is concerned, (other than the main entrance door sector which in this case, is not a suitable house for you). You should also look at the intangible force at the bedroom area. Other than the above, it is difficult to neutralise any intangible force based on this theory. In traditional FS, we can use Flyi…

I must truly apologise for the info that I am going to provide, below... For those who don't have a stomach to read the message; I strongly suggest; please skip this message! ACTUNG! You have been WARNED! These are some of the considerations:- 1. Frankly, no offence ... I just glanced what you had wrote and this immediately flashes into my mind: "A little knowledge is considered a dangerous thing!". 2. OK, let's assume that in this "tiny" world of Fung Sway; and there is this person who only eats and sleeps and swear only by the Eight House... erh... good luck to you! 3. Even in the Eight House and micro-management of the Eight House concept; there is such a thing…

Hi, under the Eight House Theory, Interpreting the 'Intangible Force', it is mentioned that we overlay the Kua template of the houseowner onto the house plan according to the direction of the house. I am ratherconfused as it should be the'type' of house accordingto thedirection of the main door. So the eight directions will be at different location then. Canyou clarify?

Dear Cheui May, 1. In Feng Shui, it is also important to maximize one's LUCK using the three most important theories:- 1.1 Shapes and Form Here, location, location and location is important. 1.2 Eight House HOW SUITABLE is the house to the person? And at locations where one spents most time at should preferably be an auspicious sector. 1.3 Flying Star and Pillars of Destiny Here, Flying Star looks the birth chart of the house is looked at. While we extract, one's element and strength from Pillars of Destiny. Look at our luck periods and its relationship with the five elements. If you can see clearly, each principle above (1.1; 1.2 and 1.3) are specific tools used to analy…

Dear Anon, The Finding A Good House report has three dimensions: 1. Breadwinner's Eight House (East/West group) or Gua analysis 2. The specific Flying Star chart of an apartment. 3. Ba Zi of the breadwinner. Here are some important considerations: 1. Where possible, the ideal `house' or main door is where: in all three cases: Best choice is where all the above THREE CRITERIAS (Para 1, 2 and 3) is auspicious to the breadwinner. 2. What happens if it does not? Then, it is best to use this advice: 1. Eight House Analysis 1.1 DEATH OR DISASTER AT MAIN ENTRANCE? 1.1.1 Where possible, the main door SHOULD not be the DEATH or DISASTER to the breadwinner. 1.1.2 If so, this is al…

Dear Joan, The clue here is that both Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui are compass school Feng Shui - specific to a home/location. Thus, between Eight House vs Ba Zi, it is often, better to consider more from a Eight House point of view, than the ba zi. However, if one uses the Ba Zi point of view, than, one should consider it in general i.e. the main entrance. For example, what is one's element and strength? If say one is a strong water person. Than, a south facing house is considered auspicious e.g. Strong Water destroys Fire (south). Thus is considered a good home for the breadwinner. Thus, when we use the ba zi analysis, do try to see if one is weak or strong v…

Dear Fely, Fely Aquino wrote: Please refresh my knowledge again. The Eight House has North location as the main door. What if the home's main door faces any of the other locations (ie, West, Northeast, etc)? How do you determine the bad and good locations in this regard? The facing of the house you should determine by our facing direction rule set:- 1. Landed Property - ie facing of the house itself. Depends on the orientation of the house itself. 2. Apartment (2nd level - 7th level) - ie main door of the house as your facing direction of the house 3. Apartment (8th level and up) - ie living room or balcony as your facing directiondirection. This will be the facing …

Dear Victor, 1. For the layout plan, often, the emphasis is to try to find the `center-of-gravity' of a home. 2. There is really no hard and fast rule as to whether a balcony can or should be excluded. Often, a more important issue is the garage: as this often occupies a larger area and if we take the entire garage into consideration, it may distort the center-of-gravity of a home. 3. For a balcony, it has to be looked into in relation to the entire layout plan. 4. For example, some balcony protrudes on a landed property. If so, often, we should not take this into account. 5. If the balcony is within the fringe of the entire layout plan (or top-view) and it does not see…

Dear Anon, 1. Yes, I know of some FS practitioners are selling them. 2. Frankly, the eight rod wind chime is a modern invention. 2.1 The reason why I call this a modern invention is because, the Chinese dialect group Cantonese, likes the phonetic sound of `8' or Fatt, or prospertiy. 2.2 Because of this connotation, the trend or fad for the eight rod wind chime started or originated from Hong Kong. 2.3 Locally, I believe some FS practitioners also `catch' on with this. Not so much of its proper use but rather, in my opinion, a profit element. 2.4 Imagine, the cost price of such items can be as low as a few dollars. (Especially if they are manufactured in bulk and with low…

Dear Wasis, 1. Yes, the land, it is very vital to `control' water below us. 2. This is why, often a pagado was built along water channels below ground to try and neutralise it. 3. It is said that wells contain `spirts' and we have to control it. 4. We have to look at Feng Shui from may facets and angles. 5. In many fields, there are their specialisations. In Feng Shui also, many of us have our specific specialisation - that represents our location. 6. For example, in a vast relatively undeveloped regions, most of the Feng Shui work is related to the land, the `water' on this land such as wells and underground water movements. 7. In built-up regions, we see more double-tri…

Good day, Master Cecil! The electric company just placed a post right innfront of our house entrance. It is not directly in front of the main door, but seems to slice through the small peeping window beside the main door. It can also be seen clearly through the big foyer window. Will hanging a crystal chandelier inside the foyer help? Kindly see attached photo. Thank you!

Dear Janet, Thank you for your e-mail. Please see below:- In traditional Feng Shui, powerlines are considered the " water element ". (Which is equivalent to watercourses or streams). As you had mentioned that the powerlines are 1000 metres away, it should thus be considered as " water " flowing along your North East/ North West. To clarify:- 1. Aas you mentioned that your house faces south, does it mean that the main entrance door is at the South? 2. Is the back of your house at the North? At the " micro " level, do try to get an ordinary compass and take a compass reading of your house. What you need to do here is to go a plot of empty land and take a compass bearin…
