Dear GY, Yes, it is nice-to-have (not must-have) a date to start work (repainting). And if the gate is changed nearly the same time, then, no need to choose another good day.

Good dates should be treated as "nice-to-have" rather than "must-have". However, since ancient times, the Chinese have a believe in selecting auspicious dates especially for : marriages, start of piling work (new home), moving into a new office / home etc... Thus, it is all in the Chinese custom to do so. Warmest Rega…

Based on the Chinese Holy Trinity of Luck: 1. Heaven 2. Earth 3. Man or Human Luck So long as it makes you feel good or comfortable with it, why not? Since feeling good contributes to "improving one's luck". Particularly = Man or Human Luck factor.

Hi:-) My brother, his fiancee and I will be moving into a new HDB apartment soon. Our unit is a corridor unit and it faces east. However, my bedroom door faces the main door and the windows in my bedroom faces in main door also. The bedroom is virtually quite empty with only a bed and two cupboards. I should also point out that as you look out of my room window, it is West and there are hills in that direction also. I understand that it isn't good to have the main door facing the bedroom door, but that cannot be helped. There is no way to do a renovation as we are renting the place and it is quite difficult to put a piece of furniture between the main door and the bedroom…

Dear Anon, 1. If you have the opportunity to avail yourself to the services of a Feng Shui practitioner onsite, much the better. Since you are building a new house, many considerations need to be considered. Other important considerations, is that the Feng Shui consultant can advise you on the best date for `starting' the work. 2. There are lots of considerations to be made and a trained eye would be a better choice. Please see below:- There are a few considerations here: 1. Where possible, the house should be suitable to the breadwinner. The Eight House can be used generally to check how suitable the house is to the breadwinner. Where possible avoid the death or disa…

thank youvery much for your reply. As to your question why i opt for turtle instead of fish, well, actually, previously i put gold fishes in it, more than 15. cats from our neighbors always come to our place. they can enter anytime since the front fence is an open steel fence. whithout us knowing it sometimes its been eaten. One time, we saw a bull frog. so the ending, all the fishes were gone. Also, water here in our place has a lot of chlorine. iguess its about time i buy a book on how to take care of fishes in the pond. Sad to say, i am a beginner on this. Anyway, speaking of fish,in case i put back fish on my pond, how many fish do i have to put and what kind of …

Dear Donna, Apologise, but if you can provide a rough sketch which includes: 1. Location of : main gate; from the gate to the main entrance. Or photo (nice to have) 2. Where is the main door and a sketch of the outline of the house and what is on each side and back of the house. I hope u can understand that no two homes may be similar and I personally feel, the more the detail provided, the better it is to have a better understanding of your situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Frankly, there are quite alot of replies on the same subject: 1. Placing a mirror in the bedroom be it facing the bed and/or even not facing the bed but in many areas of the bed - have been discussed, before. 2. There are two sides of the coin; here:- 2.1. In many of the previous replies I have mentioned that some Feng Shui books highlight that when one sleeps; one's spirit wakes up; see's itself and get a shock of it's life (in the mirror). 2.2. Look at it this way, there are others who are highly tolerant of mirrors. 2.3. For example, many new homes have windows that are even at bed-level. At night many of the windows have reflective surface and they would then be "mir…

These are some of the considerations:- 1. Egronomics is all about the user and his/herinteraction with the work place. 2. Who cares if people tell you that books are like knifes! I always remind my clients that when you were studying;we always place our books or semister's booksand even some toys or dollsclose or withinstudying (or even working) distance! 3. Just imagine; is'nt it a joke, if within our work area, we have to constantly open abookshelf doorfor commonly used books or items. 4. For books or items that we don't frequently use, then we may haveshelves with doors and often higher up where we don't need to reach them often! You wrote in italics, below:- 2)…

Dear All, Looks like there is another Feng Shui Emporium to choose from...(This one is from China) I like to emphasise that Geomancy.net is a Professional Consultancy site and from day 1 does not believe in selling any physical products. It is our strong belief that selling such things can *cloud* one's mind or specifically - have a conflict of interest in our professional service. Nowadays, it is interesting to see that there are more competition in the sale of commercial products. And this spells good for those who are interested in all things Chinese. For those who want to obtain things like Chinese ancient coins or wind chimes can do a SEARCH at http://www.yahoo.com …

Dear Cecil, I am very new to Feng Shui and I have been reading books a looking at your site. I have a new roommate coming to live with me and as it is the start of a new year I need some advice, please? Should I move my bed to another area of the apartment as it is currently located in the three killings area for this year? The S is a good direction for me (although SE is my best location for door) and I don't know if there is a better location for me to sleep or a cure I could use. Would you please advise? Thanks. Joy

1. Frankly, withoutdrawing a proper Flying Star Chart, all advise, here is based solely on "trial and error" type of Feng Shui. 2. For example, under a Flying Star chart, one should have a clear picture of what are the star numbers # within that sector. And if that sector contains nasty stars like #3 or happen to have this star, then, in-deed a fire-place light would be useful to "burn" away this otherwise bad = quarrels, conflicts, legal entanglement star. 3. Some Feng Shui practitioners advise to use symoblic items such as placing a couple of family photos at the "romance sector". Another common item by modern Feng Shui practitioners is a pair of duck. This is accept…

Dear Sophia, Not many know that in the past, elephants had roamed China and they were very common within the North and South of China. A set of elephants actually represent a "source" of strength. And often, the elephant is decorated with motifs and thus considered as bringing fortune to the family. The elephant is both revered in Thailand (especially the white elephant) as well as is one of the gods of the Indians. It is Ok to have a pairfacing or looking outwards. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I have read with interest the various questions sent to the forum recently regarding Windchimes, Coins, Eight Life Aspirations etc. etc. and would like to tell my story. In 1997 I became interested in FS and started reading whatever books I could get on the subject. I then followed what was said, wind chime here, coins there, plant here, water there and the list went on. To say my family experienced many problems is putting it mildly. I urge fellow forum members to take heed of the advice Cecil and Robert give you in relation to "Fast Food Feng Shui" as believe me, disaster WILL strike. Glyn

These are some considerations: 1. It depends! 2. Often even under such a development, there could be some "gem" or a "ROSE amongst the thorns." 3. For a lay-person;if in doubt,or feel uncomfortable; then avoid buying such homes or apartment(s). 4. More individual investigative work is required for each individual unit.

1. Since no two lots or sites are the same, just be careful thatthe main door is not facing a T juction (street). And under Shapes and Forms, the drainage needs to be looked at. In general, best to avoid a large drainage behind the plot. Quote: I am looking at a lot, frontage is about 24 meters. But a portion-8 meters is facing a street. Isit still advisable to acquire such a lot. Is there a bad omen to lots facing a street. This is just a portion.

Dear Anon, 1. You will first have to identify where is your major leaks first. A. Is it a problem with your heaven luck (ba zi) which is in a very bad 10-year/5-year/year? B. Is the problem because of your Earth Luck (house feng shui)? The reason I ask this is because unless you know where the problem is from, it is hard for anyone to advice you on what you can do. 2. If it is your ba zi, then it could mean that say if you are a weak Wood person, you have nearly everything in your live which is against you, ie a unfavourable element house (ie Metal - West facing house), a career such as Metal (Finance), and very bad ba zi luck period. If this is the case, then yo…
