Thanks for your graphics on the above question Cecil. In the case of two water tanks on top of a building opposite your own building, do you believe this can cause a problem for a business ? Cheers Glyn

Dear Anon, Further to what I had mentioned, please see attached example. Do take note that it is not necessary for SOME homes to use screens. And the attach picture should be considered a general example or broad example. 1. Purple line - manipulation of qi flow (or symbolic qi flow towards the centrepoint or the heart of the house. 2. Red - proposed location of screen. Please take note that ideally, the screen should hug or be around the same level as one side of the corridor as shown by a straight blue line. 3. Here, a half height glass panel is acceptable since, it can help to difuse light towards the main door area. 4. Since the master bedroom door is at the end of …

General observations:- 1. Rough estimate is that most of the units are of Flying Star: Period 8, NE 1 or SW1. 2. Just be careful of sharp edges from another unit (stack). For example, stack 20; may have an edge or corner that is aimed towards stack 14 (perhaps a bedroom window) or vice versa. Stack 24 with 18. 3. As usual, best not to have afternoon sun soaking into master bedroom walls or thru windows of living, bedroom(s). 4. Again, club house roof fans out creating a sha qi particularly of concern is for stack 29 (less of a concern for stack 28). Thus depending on how high the roof is, avoid having it slice towards the window level of lower floor - stack 29. …

Hi, 1. Have you generated your Free Eight House Template. If not, you can follow the steps shown under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/house1.htm or go to www.geomancy-online.com to generate a free computerized report. The main consideration after you had generated the Eight House Template is where possible use a transparency. `Combine' the two of your Eight House Template on the transparency. To be distinct, use two different colour pens to write down each of your good and bad intangible influence. Here what you should do next:- 1. Find the centrepoint of each layout plan. 2. Superimpose the template on any house layout plan you are looking at. (aligned to the North So…

Dear KS, 1. It is best not to let the fish tank face the main door i.e. when one opens the main door, try not to have it face this door. 2. The most effective (Key sucess factor) is to use the Flying Star Feng Shui. A good location is where there is e.g. #7 small metal x 2 (metal element) or #6 big metal. Under the Five Elements Concept, metal supports water. And thus, it is advantages for a water position. 3. For those who are staying in an apartment: one actually (should) have already virtual water (clear space). And often water position is not necessary. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Yes, you are right to point out that the poison arrow (concrete beam edge) in my opinion exerts around 1 metre range of sha qi or poison arrows. I only gave a quick glance of the layout plan; 1. Standing at the main door when looking into the kitchen, should not have a glimpse of sharp objects like knifes or scissors.. as based on Shapes and Forms, this is considered inauspicious. 1.1. While based on commonsense, it is rare but if someone were to run into the home, sees the knives; grap one and go threaten the family members... (More on commonsense, here). 2. In the event that the dining table can be seen thru the corridor of the main door area and orbedroom 3, then if t…

Good day, masters! I am studying Feng Shui extensively, and have been using your site to do my personal calculations. I am confused however on one particular: I live in a west group house, which is perfect for me as I am a west group person. However, the layout of my home has me facing all my 'bad directions', and my good directions, such as the southwest, are blocked by a stepladder staircase going into a hole in the floor to my bedroom level (I live in a three level loft style condominium). The good areas, such as west (where my front door is, and closet upstairs) southwest (staircase and big hole in the floor) northwest (bathroom lower floor and closet upper floor) …

1. Hopefully, the double #8's at the back is not the toilet or kitchen area else it is wasted, here. 2. Some homes have their acitivity area at the back e.g. dining room. If there is some form of living area at the "back" of the home, one can have more activities in this area. Alternatively, allow windows to be opened (provided no rain - leaking into the home). Letting qi or air coming from this area is a good consideration - allow it to circulate into the home. 3. Once a while, it is often good to allow qi to or ordinary wind to flow into all parts of the home e.g. open windows or doors every few weeks - is good for qi circulation: avoiding dead / sha qi or suffocating…

Dear Yael, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, May 10, 1999 10:07 PM Subject: living in a yacht Personally, I have not read any materials about Feng Shui for yacht. Also, because for the yacht, your directions are often changing, realistically there is no way you can even apply Flying Star or Eight House to your yacht, your boat is often changing directions. If you do want to apply Feng Shui to your yacht, the only possible theory is either Yin & Yang, Colours and Five Element. This means you can apply things like say if you are a weak wood, then obtain colour of…

Dear Fely, 1. Several years back, I had elaborated on the 4 celestial creatures or simply the "Four Symbolic Animals". 2. In fact, there are several perspective at looking into the Concept of the Four Celestial Creatures or the Four Symbolic Animals. I shall use the short form as FSA (stands for Four Symbolic Animals.) 3. The First Perspective is of a "SYMBOLIC" nature. This is why; it is known as the Four Symbolic Animals. 4. In many societies; the saying goes: "A picture tells a thousand words". 5. What better way to understand a concept is via symbolism or a picture of: 5.1 The FRONTAGE Where possible, we should imagine that the frontage should have clear space. Much l…

Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply. You've been a great help. The "Matt" finishing on glass is not common tho we would endeavour to obtain it. Also, where would you advise on placing a water feature in the home?? We are planning to get one plus some indoor plants. What kind of plant would be good asides from the "money plant"? Thanks for your help and expert advise!! Cheers.

Dear Joe, The main consideration is that the bamboo plant should not be allowed to grow too `large' or too tall. If you are planting the bamboo plant e.g. at your garden, `proper maintenance' is required as in time, they will expand and lots of effort are required to main the plant. My suggestion is to plant the bamboo plant in a pot. Here, the bamboo plant will be contained. Bamboo plant is symbolic of:- 1. Many Chinese poems are written on sheets of paper with drawings of bamboo paintings. 2. As the bamboo tube is used to house fire crackers or fire works, it is symbollic of good luck as fire crackers dispel evil or scare them away. 3. The leave of the bamboo bends down…

Dear Jackie, To be frank, based on the current information given by you on the Eight House + Eight Associations it is difficult to comment at this stage what has really `happened'. As it may or may not be true of the problem i.e. career sector lies in your `death' intangible force. Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Thursday, March 04, 1999 3:26 AM Subject: How to activate career sector

These are some of the considerations based on belief and symbolism:- 1. Only display the standard set of three. 2. If your replacement set is identical; then you can always throw away the other two and safe keep (in a store room or cabinet) the remaining one. 3. So far, I have yet to see someone display more than the required set of three.

Dear Tom, Further to what I mentioned earlier, here are some other considerations:- 1. Symbolism is important in Feng Shui. I am not sure about natural crysals or gemstones but the shape preceeds material used. For example, for a piece of wood shaped like a pyramid, although its natural element is wood; but because it has taken the form of a pyramid, it should now be classified as a `fire element'. Alternatively, the piece of wood has been shaped like a pyramid and painted red. Here, red = fire element would also make it as a fire element. 2. Traditional Feng Shui is all about the Five elements concept: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal elements. Although, the methology…

These are some of the considerations: 1. A picture or sketch tells a thousand words = none. 2. What kind of altar is it? 2.1. A Catholic altar? 2.2. A typical Chinese altar? Even within the Chinese altar; there are many groupings:- 2.2.1 Ancestor altar 2.2.2Guan Gong (usually face the main door) 2.2.3Guan Yin (Goddness of Mercy) 2.2.4Jade Emperor etc... 3. Even buddha "altar". 4. Indian pooja or puja room / altar. 5. In general; an altar:- 5.1. Should not have it's back against a toilet wall 5.2. facing a bedroom 5.3. Preferred that it should not be at the NE or SW sector of a home 5.4. Placed below abeam There are LOTs more.. just that my fingers need to crawl somewhere …

Dear Saroah, Sarosh B wrote: I live in a building with a Ground Floor and Four Floors above it. Sarosh B wrote: My apartment is on the Ground Floor, so is my property a Landed property or Apartment as you have mentioned 2nd floor onwards for apartment. Given that you leave in an apartment, with likely 4 different owners in floors above you, therefore it is still considered an apartment. Thus, you should still take the main door as if it is a low floor (typically is 2nd-7th level). In your case, will be ground floor to 7th floor). Hope that helps. 1. In my opinion, for a newbie to Feng Shui, one may not understand the implication. 2. Usually, the placement of the six coins is meant more as a "cure" than your literal translation of placing coins at the back of the home thus leaking wealth away. 3. IN GENERAL, it is common for Feng Shui practitioners to draw up a chart of a home. For example, each of us have our own date and time that we are born. And a home also has a birth-chart. 4. Thus this home birth-chart is popularly based on what is known as "Flying Star - Compass School Feng Shui'. Frankly, please don't ask me to explain what is Flying Star or Compass School. One has to do more research or use the SEARCH…

Dear CT, You really cannot do much here. The only `last' resort is to try to use small dragon (four claws and below) and aim it directly at the sharp corner. It can be a decorative piece preferably made of wood. As wood destroys earth. In my home, I aimed a wooden dragon carving at the clay pointed roof (Earth element). It worked for me. When I did renovations to my home, I removed it and had several problems. But since that time, I placed it back and everything is fine. Frankly, the wooden dragon was a gift to my dad many years back. Please don't ask me where to purchase one cause I really do not know. If you are in Hong Kong; Singapore or Malaysia or any Asian country, y…

Dear Anon, 1. For crystals, it is best placed in a location where it catches natural light. 2. Often, some FS practitioner would recommend it at the following locations:- 2.1 Where two bedroom doors are in alignment, a crystal is hang mid-way on the ceiling between the two doors. This is still acceptable. 2.2 Some FS practitioners recommend haning it to cure overhead beam. This may not be good. Because if we base it on the Five Elements concept, wood would be an ideal choice to cure concrete beams. And metal is good to cure wooden beams. 3. In my opinion, "crystals" e.g. especially of glass material are too highly commercialised today i.e. it is relatively cheap to produ…

These are some considerations: 1. HDB Units face the lift door. 1.1. In my opinion, again, this is one of those things that has more to do with common sense. Thus, some claim such things to be (common sense) Feng Shui. 1.2. Just imagine, if one's main entrance is opened and the interior is in full or partial view of people stepping out of a lift. 1.3. Depending on the density of units that this lift serves as well as human traffic density that uses this lift; most people would feel uncomfortable with many people looking into your home. 1.4. Worse still, many are strangers such as friends, relatives and sometimes those pesky sales person. 1.5. Some feel that because of so …
