As mentioned earlier, a full Pillars of Destiny Chart is not so simplistic as what one may think. For the living, besides: Year, Month, Day and Time of birth; living human beings have to consider two more charts:- House of Life - this is a very important pillar that determines your OVERALL life. House of Conception - For a male, it represent's one's spouse. For a female, her child. So the notation of just looking at the Day chart and determining the strength on it's own is wishful thinking!

1. Please see the two sample attachments. 2. These sample attachments are snap-shots of the kitchen area of a government Housing Board Flat. 3. Under Sample-A.gif, major consideration includes which sector the kitchen is located. And this layout plan is better than option under Sample-B.gif. 4. Under Sample-B.gif, the stove is "facing" the kitchen window. The plus point is that it is fairly far away. Otherwise, if the distance between the stove and window is too close, many geomancers would recommend the stove be in another location. Preference is under Sample-A.gif. 5. Often if the stove faces the kitchen or service yard window and is in full view of the master bedroom window, then symbolically if the master bedroom window is always opened, then it may lead to lots of quarrels.

Your flat is an older generation Housing Board Flat. Usually this flat or unit is within a larger rectangular block of flats. Please see comments on the attachment.

1. Many of the Feng Shui concepts are purely about commonsense. 2. For example, even without Feng Shui, many people are concerned with a bedroom directly above a kitchen - in particular, a stove. As it is felt that there may be a higher chance of a fire - in a kitchen than other areas of a home. And in addition, fire rises. 3. A stove equally should best be surrounded by a solid wall. Commonsense prevail that if there is some wind, it could EITHER: 3.1. Extinguish the flame and cause the gas to fill up the entire enclosed area e.g. the kitchen. And if there is any light source, the whole kitchen may just be engulfed in a volume of flame - or flash fire! 3.2. You don't want the flame to flow towards one's clothing - catching fire or worse, a small child at eye level walk past the stove and in a windy day, it may just blow towards the child's eyes! 4. That is why commonsense prevails that when we site a stove, it should be away from a windy area or an opened window. As there is such thing as high and low pressure zones especially prior to heavy rain occuring. 5. Typically, these are all just purely commonsense! And many other Feng Shui concepts are about this commonsense.

Please note that it is not as simplistic as what you think. A full analysis also takes into account especially his House of Life pillar to determine whether he is a strong or weak person - in the final analysis.

This is more of the mind.. than matter. For landed property (where other methods of numerology) may or may not be used, some symbolically place their house numbers by "raising" them...

1. Frankly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. 2. What is often, really needed is to do a full assessment based on the Holistic Approach to finding out what is wrong. 3. The Holy Trinity of Luck:- 3.1. Luck comes in three forms:- 3.2. Heaven Luck - born with 3.3. Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home and office 3.4. Human or man luck 4. Only through a full assessment - in particular: the review of one's Heaven luck and Earth Luck can one get a bigger picture to identify what are the issues and problems, first.

1. Priority is based on Shapes and forms Feng Shui. Where the bedroom arrangement should "flow" with the bedroom door, attached toilet - if any and the location of the window in the bedroom. 2. Sleeping with the head facing a good direction is considered as Nice-to-have and not a must-have. 3. Another concept to remember is "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". If the previous bed-head arrangement was fine or acceptable, don't change things unnecessarily. Or revert to the "original-previous" position. Anonymous wrote: Hello, My house faces the west and my bed is placed in such a way that I my head faces the north. Of late I haven't been experiencing lack of sleep. Is this the right position ? My bed cannot be moved as that is the only convenient place? Any solutions? Thanks

#5 = misfortune, sickness. while #9 (fire) inflames #5 which implies making #5 worse-off.

1. In order to be "attacked" by a poision arrow, it is often the sharp corner of another mega building close-by. 2. At sixteenth floor; so long as especially your unit living room window does not over-look at a "pole" like structure that directly slices the living room, then it does not pose an issue. For bedrooms, also, so long as it does not slice any of the rooms thru the bedroom, this is not an issue. However, a simple day curtain especially for a bedroom can easily help to "cover" it. Thus if it no longer is seen it no longer can create a poison arrow. 3. This tower is significant especially if one has a child studying in a bedroom. For example, if the tower is to the right-hand side of the study table view, it implies that the child can achieve scholarly highs in his/her studies. The pearls are another thing. Polly K. wrote: Dear Master Cecil, My partner and Ilive in an apartment in the northern part of Shanghai, and as we are on the sixteenth floor, we have a clear view of the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the other skyscrapers from the South-facing windows of our living room (South-Southwest sectors) and bedroom (East sector). Does the tower count as inauspicious, since it is sharply pointed at the top, or auspicious because it has the two round 'pearls' on it? There is also the Jinmao Tower which has a square hole in the top, and other skyscrapers, but then again on smoggy days we can't see any of them anyway! : ) If there are poison arrows coming towards our apartment, should we hang bagua mirrors outside both windows, or only one (which window?) or do something else entirely? We will only be living in this apartment for two more years so we'd prefer not to have to make costly changes to it. Thank you very much for any kind advice

1. Please note that traditional Feng Shui uses the Flying Star Feng Shui. And a "pie chart" or a "9 box grid" is used. 2. Some areas are known as protusion(s) and others are missing corner(s). 3. What bagua chart are you referring to? Hopefully not the modern invention of a bagua chart where North = career, etc.... this is a modern invention. 4. From your rough sketch, it looks more like a protusion. And can easily be looked at using a "pie chart" method of drawing out a Flying Star chart.

So sorry, you might want to rephase your question as I don't really understand it. Especially this statement: "Is the courtyard sufficient to bring the bedroom into the house or should I hang mirrors as well?" Aryn L. wrote: I'm buying a house that has a garage converted into a master bedroom. There is one step down into the room from the main portion of the house. To enter the house, you pass through an enclosed courtyard. The master bedroom is on the left with French doors leading into it from the courtyard. A covered carport is on the right. The front door is at the back of the courtyard and leads into the main part of the house. Is the courtyard sufficient to bring the bedroom into the house or should I hang mirrors as well? -------------------------------------- l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l----- -------------- --------- l l l l l l l l l l l l ---------- - - - - - - - l l

1. Thanks for the description. In my opinion, since this pipe is concealed within the concrete base, it is considered acceptable. And do not pose a major issue in-terms of the Feng Shui. 2. Once concealed, it is considered as neutral. 3. More importantly, based on commonsense approach to Feng Shui: this is where if there is especially a water pipe running 6 inches or closer to the stove, then when the stove is in use, the water pipe will begin to heat up. In such a situation, it is because of this that we considered having a water pipe running below a stove inauspicious! Fire - vs water in-conflict.

If purely based on the Five elements concept, metal destroys wood to create wealth. Thus, if we consider a pilot as belonging to the wood element, then it is considered as auspicious for a strong metal person.

1. The best method is to plot a flying star chart of a home. And use this flying star chart to analyse each sector. 2. For example, if a sector has a water star #3, then this is considered as a bad wood element and planting bamboo or plants can even further create "harm". As #3 is associated with scandals, conflicts, lawsuits. The above is just one simple illustration to show that it is more prudent to apply Flying star in such a situation. Not withstanding, the dragon and tiger etc...

Frankly, it is often difficult to select good dates in a specific month especially if we look at the brith charts of two persons. Thus it is perfectly all right to use a date e.g. V. Auspicious and mix blessings combined. So long as it is not an inauspicious or very inauspicious date for any of the two persons, this is fine! or OK Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, We are siblings and will be moving to our new apartment soon. According to your 30-days Auspicious date, July 11 is Very Auspicious to me (Dog) but mix blessing to my brother (Rooster). Additionally, it is an Open Day according to 12 Officer Day. Pls advise should we proceed with this day or better to select another day? Thank you very much for your valuable advise. Anon

Thanks for the sketch. However, from a scientific Feng Shui point of view:- 1. So long as one is able to have the drainage from the property outwards towards the drainage, one can make it an auspicious home. 2. For example, for every landed property, there is such thing as drainage exit from the landed property outwards, as shown in the sample below:- Example. Landed Property Water/Drain Exit Point Facing Direction: N3 and NE1 Default Water Direction: Depends on Layout 1st Exit Point (Wealth) Between 307.5 to 337.4 Degree Water Flow Direction: Right to Left 2nd Exit Point (Wealth) Between 37.5 to 67.4 Degree Water Flow Direction: Left to Right NOTE: Water Flow direction is taken from inside your house looking out towards the main door/frontage. 3. Thus even if currently the drainage from a Shapes and Forms point of view seems to - in my opinion, not as auspicious because water flow is away from the home from both "sides"; but if one is able to tap the internal drainage of the property e.g. from left of right between 37.5 to 67.4 degrees etc.. 4. For those who are building a new home from scratch can greatly benefit from good Feng Shui consultation advice as it can make or break the wealth of the owners of the home. Thus if the flow seems not correct, can make an internal correction. 5. However, if the external drainage is all covered up (cannot be seen) then this is a neutral position.

Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, I am bit vague about tilting main doors as to make it face an auspicious direction and of course to avoid the Devil's gate (Northeast direction). I have a northeast facing door and it is one of my inauspicious location. My concerns: * Does making it a defunct/dead door and otherwise use the east facing backdoor as our main entrance can help substantially and further avoid renovation expenses? * Is hanging a mirror and a bagua above the Northeast facing main door resolves the problem. * If tilting is really required, how can it be done? Will it not create poison arrows, for chance in walls and jambs? I am planning to change it before Hungry ghosts festival on August. Thanks for the guidance and more power. Frankly, it is best that if you are not familiar with lots of Feng Shui concepts; do get yourself a competent geomancer. And not be obessed with your home being a NE facing. There are many other considerations.

1. Usually, for such instances, it is best to get professional help especially if you are uncertain whether it is True or not. 2. Sometimes, your measurement(s) are not accurate - i.e. false alarm. 3. If it is true that your home falls on the void line, then it is best to get professional help to assess the situation and provide further advise. 4. If you want to DIY, then one of the most common methods is to purchase a "copper" ruler; re-do the front door floor tiles and embed the ruler strategically at an angle from the void line. This is one of the most common methods.

1. More importantly; the year the home was stayed-in. Thus most likely, the TOP date. 2. Do take note that it is meant for a high-rise: flat/condo/apartment and not a landed property such as a terrace/semi-detached or a bungalow. Anonymous wrote: Just need to know when using the house number report, do we enter the TOP date as the year ? or the year the 99ys lease starts ?

Safer if you have a sketch as such explanations can easily be misunderstood - wrongly.

1. In order for it to be a sha qi or poison arrow:- 1.1. It must be a tree trunk (not a bunch of leaves or growth covering a trunk or tree trunks) 1.2. It must be directly facing the main door. Not "sidewards" or slanted as many people often wrongly felt so. 1.3. Remedies range from: - A wind chime - A convex ba gua mirror These are the two most common "cures" for this situation.

Your friend is correct.

1. Yes, Feng Shui cannot be done by remote control. If you don't stay at the (that) home, you will not be affected by it. 2. I understand that bamboos grow in clusters. And does not have a single tree TRUNK. If so, there is no impact with the clusters of trunks and branches of a bamboo plant on the Feng Shui of your home. 3. As we are not privilege to see what it is like, you may consider making a decision to keep or remove it especially if "darkens" the main entrance vis a vis covering the piping.

1. With two major variables: bed is quite large and a bedroom has windows, bedroom door and often an attached toilet. This implies that it is very difficult to angle any bed to our best suitable direction. 2. Thus the rule of thumb is:- 2.1. Best it that the bed layout should "flow" with the bedroom based on Shapes and forms Feng Shui. 2.2. It is good to have the bed (located within a person's good sector). For example, the bed is within west which is a good sector for a west group person. Sometimes it can never happen as the bedroom is not in our good sector. If so refer to Para 2.1 then see if 2.3 may apply or not. 2.3. So long especially as Para 2.1 is satisfied, then it is considered as NICE-to-have our bed-head facing a good direction.
