Dear Anon, Under Flying Star Feng Shui, for this year 2006, there is a bad #5 called Five Yellow located at the West sector. It is good to define what you mean by "is not good to do anything". For example, if it is a "lame" excuse to tell the boss: " Boss! My Feng Shui man says... cannot do work at where I am sitting (West sector)! " Boss may say: " Yeah, you get lost and don't come back to work!" Anyway, for every year, the bad Five Yellow flies around and happen to reside at the west sector. As such it is considered inauspicious to: do renovations at that sector or do digging work (construction etc) at this sector. For next year 2007, the Five Yellow will fly to the NE sector. It does not mean that this for this entire year this sector has to remain quiet e.g. no activity or work or say turning on the tv (if it is the living room etc..) The usual activities can continue to happen. And if one's boss puts us there (west) to work, jolly well do your work! No lame excuse! Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi, Ijustread a booksayingthat this year 2006,is not good to do anything in the west even if it is my best position. Is that true?

Dear Anon, Please goto this conference: Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines You can read the two articles found immediately when you first goto the above conference:- Part I - Facing direction of a home Part II - Facing direction of a home I hope these two articles will clearly help you to understand what is considered as the "mouth" of the home as used by Flying Star Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I'm quite confused about how to identify the facing of my main door. Is it take the reading standing at the front door (still inside the house) facing out or standing in the centre of the house? If my balcony is a semicircle shape quite wide, does it mean that I shd take the direction of the balcony as my main door. I'm staying in a 5 room HDB pointflat (on 7th Flr) .Which means 4 unit in each floor. The main doorfacing each other.

Dear Jian Rong, Sorry to hear about your condition. It is good that you continue to seek treatment. As for your home, since you have not done any extensive Feng Shui audit of the home, hope you understand that it is quite difficult to provide proper advice. For example, these are some of the sample situations that may result in poor health:- 1. Flying star charts where the frontage (or mouth of the home) and the back of the home has bad flying star numbers. For example, athough wealth may not be an issue for a Period 8, SW1 home, but one has to neutralise sickness stars for such a home since it's frontage e.g. SW is plagued by MS#5 WS#8 B#5 while NE is plagued by MS#8 WS#2 B#2 Neutralising these elements as well as any other #5 or #2 or worse still #9 inflaming any of these #5 or #2. 2. Sometimes, a bedroom which we commonly sleep may be plagued by any of these three stars: #9 inflaming any of these #5 or #2. In general, issues leading to poor health in a home can be diagnosed as: 1. Bad stars : #2 #5 with or without combined with #9 may be found at the mouth of the home or diagonally opposite 2. Bedrooms may be plagued by such stars. 3. Sometimes both bedrooms and living room /or frontage are plagued by these stars. In general: a. Assuming that there are bad stars in a specific sector: Avoid: Bright Yellow or Bright Red in your bedroom b. In the earlier example: Period 8 : SW1 MS#5 WS#8 B#5, where there are twice bad #5's then one should use moving metal such as a six-hollow rod windchime to neutralise these sectors. c. For Period 7: East 2/3 is often plagued with health issues especially if one's bedroom is located at East e.g. MS#2 WS#7 B#5. As mentioned, since it is unclear what MAY or could be bad stars in your bedroom; one has to check to see whether it is the frontage / back or the bedrooms or both of these that may affect your health. Dear Max, Toilet Feng Shui is actually related to "Commonsense" then Feng Shui. Thus if one wants to call it: "Commonsense approach to Feng Shui". This is because one day, while I was driving on a highway; this person was saying that whenever we flush the toilet (bowl), germs "fly" all over the toilet. Even if the our toothbrush was a distance away; it will still contain some-form or type of baterial e.g. e-coli etc... Makes sense? Rite? Well, whathe asks us to do? Buy histablets to frequently dis-infect our toothbrush in it. Much like thosedenture cleaning agents! Therefore, does this not equate to "Toilet Feng Shui" where toilet qi is said not to be good? Well, look at it this way; for normal healthy human beings, a little resistance fromsuch germs e.g. brushing teeth regularly from"contaminated" toothbrush isnotgoing to make us sick at all. Thus, if we cannot "stand" the germs from your toilet, imagine goingoutside ofour homes. Some toiletsespecially(locally) in Singapore are horrendously dirty! So who cares about dis-infection we can live with it In the past, many Singaporeans let their children crawl along the home or outside. Andeven when their baby teets dropped onto the floor, the child simply picks it up and places it backto their mouths. Nowadays, everything must be very sterile. Thus coming back -- for the toilet, some people say to placelive plants ... if there is minimal maintenace no issue with having a plant in the toilet even if it does notsay suit your kua (gua) number. No issue. Frankly, in my opinion, a disk of say dry salt or even wet salt does not seem to be of any"scientific" value e.g. it does not kill germs etc.. Therefore, some of these suggestions, may not be practical at all orserve any purpose at all. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi, 1. Someone told me beforethat my personal kua shows that I should not have plant in the house. But I also read that hanging a plant in the toilet is good for feng shui. Is it Ok to have a plant in the toilet if my personal kua shows otherwise. 2. What is the purpose of putting a disk ofsalt next to toilet bowl? As it can be easily wash away by water, is there other alternative such as pebbles, etc?

Dear Rahman, 1. Try not to mix the two theories: Eight House vs Flying Star Chart 2. Eight House chart is used for: a. Checking how suitable one is to the home b. Sleeping and working facing a good direction c. Nice-to-have spending time at a good sector. (Nice-to-have and not MUST-have since we already purchased such a home and layout /compass direction are fixed. It is always good to have a home suitable to the person. For example, you mentioned that North is a suitable home. For positioning of bed-head; study/work directions - try to see if one can face a good direction. Other than this, what you had mentioned perhaps about Flying star numbers SW 5; these are about the birth chart of the home. And should be looked at based on Flying Star Feng Shui: it's cures and enhancments - distinct from your eight house chart. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Rahman Pawi wrote: However, when I read about period 8 whose house face North, main door at north is good. It is said that North is 4 with a double 8. Dear Anon, Generally, when we select an auspicious date, usually, (for practical purposes) it should be the start-date. As mentioned, this definition is more practical and can easily be applied. For example, lets take the case of a fixed location. More often, many people select a good date and time to go-into a new home (initial - opening of the door). Thus, for example an auspicious date could be tommorrow between 7 to 8.59am. And a very inauspicious time is from say9am to 11am. Once we entered the home (and in your case) bordered the plane, then this is considered as in general auspicious, already. Thus if we spent more time in the home say after 9am, it does not matter since we entered at a good time. Nowadays, statisticallyit has been mentioned that travelling by plane (today) is much more safer per-kilometre than travelling by car. Well have a safe journey! Cheers! Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have selected and booked to fly and relocate (back to my country from Europe) on a generally auspicious date for travel and relocation - 27 Sep. However I discover much later that the next day clashes directly with my animal sign and age. Is it still auspicious for me to fly on the 27 Sep since my flight is at night and takes over 10 hours (running into the next day)? Should the duration of travel (activity) be within the day or only the start date matters?

Dear Cam, Since the home is in escrow, do what you already. If you are applying Feng Shui principles, then the most important is firstly to check for any "threats" aimed towards the home such as a lone lamp-post slicing owards e.g. the main entrance or windows. Space-clearing is another commonsense approach to Feng Shui i.e. do not overly clutter the home, garage with too many boxes and storeaways etc... If you are still into Feng Shui, then take your time to understand key concepts like: Shapes and Forms Compass School : Eight House (like what you are doing) and if possible chart out a Flying Star chart of your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: cam tran wrote: Help! I am so very new to Feng Shui and am in the process of purchasing a home with my boyfriend...we are currently in escrow. Our lucky direction is West or Northwest and currently the main entrance of the home we are purchasing is facing North but also very slightly to the east. Our other health beneficial direction is North East. If we move the door and angle it a bit more to face North East, would this help? Please keep in mind that our garage is facing the same direction as our current door (North with a slight East)and we would be enteringthrough the garageon a daily basis and not through the front door that we will be changing. Should we also change the door inside the garage thatconnects to our house towards one of our lucky direction...would this help us? If not, what would be a helpful cure. Thank you so much for your prompt response.

Dear Anon, Sector Feng Shui or saying that SW = romance sector for each and very one of us may not be as accurate to activate romance luck. Try instead to apply Flying Star Feng Shui:- Specially for romance luck try activating a sector with water star #4. This then can be equated to you "SW" or so called romance sector. For example: MS#1 WS#4 Base#7 (Period 7) Then, since this sector has a water star #4 = good for romance. In addition, if the home has MS#8 or MS9 then activate with a mountain to improve networking and relationship luck. For example if a sector has: MS#8 WS#1 Base #8 then activate this mountain sector to improve networking and relationship luck! Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I've been trying to activate the SW of my bedroom. I have pictures of peach blossoms and peony, a rose quartz apple at this corner. Dear CM, For a home, you should be looking at the micro-level e.g. your actual condo or office unit's main door to check on suitability. Sometimes, when the building main entrance is looked at, it is often to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to look or study the qi of the building e.g. where to place a suitable water feature outside of the building and/or to build landscaping to suit the flying stars. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Eg. I am an East-group person, is it ok to choose a home/office where: - the building's main entrance is facing NE, SW, W, NW, - but the actual condo/office unit's main door is facing N, E, S, SE?
-
Dear Aloysius, Ideally, the main entrance door should not be in a direct path with the balcony. If so; depending on the layout of the door; if the door is close to one side of the apartment, then logically, a partition can be placed between the main door and the balcony area or alternatively, the side of the sliding door facing the main door should not be opened. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, there are so many factors to consider to evaluate a home on the basis ofFeng Shui: External environment; the site and the interior of the home. Since you mentioned that yourhome is South facing. Depending on the layout plan and whether it is a S1 or S2/S3Flying Star home; you could do a Flying staranalysis to seeif it can or cannot benefit from changing qi to a Period 8 home. If the conditions are rite or if your frontage has double #8 stars, check to see if it is found at the frontage or the living room say under an S1 or S2/S3. Thus, if one has superior or good Flying Star, it can help to reduce or negate the home being not as suitable to a west group person(s).

Dear Anon, For such items, if not in use should preferably be kept in a storeroom. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, it is best to avoid to avoid a soild object such as the grinding stones at bad earth sectors e.g. #5 or #2. Do not want to inflame these sectors with such a "large boulder". Quote: Anonymous wrote: # I have one of those old style grinding stones - a wok-like solid shape with a hole in the middle, where one puts the grain to be ground with the help of a stone pestle. We no longer use it; we kept it because we planned to use it as a display stand, but for now it's just there because we can't make up our mind what to do with it. Does keeping stones like these in any particular direction create any positive/negative effects? Yes, external environment can exert an influence on us. Quote: # My present house is a period 7 house. When we shifted here in 1986, things started getting much better for us. Though our bldg. was part of a 4-bldg. group, the space around was open. Then, in late 2003, a compound wall (with a spiky fencing atop it) was constructed enclosing the 4 bldgs, and the compound floor got pink tiles. Suddenly, the whole dynamics changed - there was constant noise because the kids kept playing all day, and late into the night as well - and only in front of our bldg. (N-NW facing), because the residents of the other two bldgs. stop them from playing there and push them our side - resulting in us having to constantly tell them to give us some respite which does not go down well. Also, differences started up between residents over the use of the compound and other facilities, with some residents ganging up together and forcing their point of view on others, subtle manipulation and the like. The building itself feels blocked and every kind of noise echoes, creating stress. Personally, the negativity is affecting us so much and draining our motivation and energy, we are looking to shift. Can house energies really go this negative because of environment changes/renovation? I have mentioned previously that there can be certain advantages or better Flying Stars for certain Period 8 homes vs other Period 8 homes. For example, those who belong to the west group could look or examine homes that are NE or SW facing. While east group persons could look at South or maybe East facing homes. In addition, external, internal factors need also be looked into. Quote: Anonymous wrote: # Re. buying a new house, if a slightly older house, most probably it would be a period 7 house. But new apartments built after Feb 2004 are all period 8 houses. Any pros and cos between the periods, in terms of main door orientation, etc.? Specially about period 8, because I read that this period houses have a combination of 2+5 stars in the same compass sector and so are more negatively influenced. Any place on your website to look all this up or if you would please detail. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Karen, If you have around 3 "sha qi" then, usually there are two alternatives: 1. a six-hollow rod wind chime 2. a convex mirror Either one can be used at the balcony area. Dear Rahman, Sorry, don't get what you mean by "What happen to NE,SE and S which is conflict in interest with period 8. Dear Aloysius, Good Question. The idea, here is to complete or try to complete all renovations at these areas e.g. North (3killings);West (5 yellow) and NW (Grand Duke) for 2006before we move-into the home. Usually for those who purchased a new home or a resale home:- 1. Select a good date for initial opening of the main entrance door. 2. Select a good date to start renovations. Here, so long as one has not moved-into the apartment, as yet; contractors hacking or knocking or painting at North, West or NW (2006) does not matter. 3. Select a good date to move-in. What matters most is that once we moved-in, avoid doing further work at these three sectors. 2007 is near-by. So for those who do renovations or intend to do renovations under 2007, then:- For 2007:- North-East (5 Yellow) North-West-West (Grand Duke) West (3Killings) Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Aloysius Chia wrote: May I know what are the ist of things needed to know & avoid when doing renovation as I will be getting a re-sale flat in November. Dear Brian, Under "Can or cannot buy" conditions, it is best to apply in principal the two major schools of Feng Shui, first:- a. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Here, generally, water front property is usually acceptable. b. Compass School Feng Shui. Eight House / East-West Group & FLying Star Feng Shui Here, you have to find out whether you belong to either East or West Group. In general, if you are a west group person, then the "facing" directions worth considering are:- North-East and South-West (Better Flying Stars) (Generally, NW and West don't have as good Feng Shui as the above NE and/or SW). For what is the "facing" direction, please go to the conference "Feng Shui Tips" and read the two "sticky" messages under Facing Directions I and II. If you are an East group person, then should consider: Southand East (Better Flying Stars) (Generally,North andSouth-East don't have as good Feng Shui as the aboveSouth and/or East). Bear in mind, where is the afternoon sun. If possible, consider the above in relation to where is the afternoon sun. We are quite concerned with the afternoon sun bathing or soaking into the brickwalls. In the evening, this is the time where heat is released from the walls etc.. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Brian Benson wrote: I am presently in the market to buy a house and I am looking into water front property. Dear Carolyn, In general, it is acceptable to place a water feature where there is a water star #8 (current prosperity) sector. Even if we want to place a water feature, it should also "look appropriate" at a location that is "functional" and not obstrusive to the interior decor. Without a picture or sketch, really cannot imagine the layout thus it can be on the right corner or within the sector - that's OK. Dear Norhaidah, Usually, for us, we look at two critical areas under the Ba Zi report:- 1. Attachment file: Illustration-1.pdf Under this sample person: Male born on 7 Oct 1973 at 1pm to 2.59pm, shows an indication that his "Big luck" is against him during this period 2004 to 2013 (Age 31 to 40). For yearly and six monthly luck one can the file: Illustration-2.pdf 2. Attachment file: Illustration-2.pdf Male born on 7 Oct 1973 at 1pm to 2.59pm Ten Deities (English) (chinese) Element representation Total Earned Wealth zheng cai Metal 3 Authority zheng guan Water 6 Main Funds zheng yin Wood 2 Intelligence shang guan Earth 3 Competitor jie cai Fire 2 Unexpected Wealth pian cai Metal 0 Determination qi sha Water 1 Unexpected Funds pian yin Wood 1 Emotional Intelligence shi shen Earth 1 Friend bi jian Fire 0 Is this person a business or salaried worker? For a salaried worker, usually we look at: 1. Earned Wealth = 3 2. Main Funds = 2 while his 4. Unexpected wealth = 0 5. Unexpected funds = 0 6. Determination = 1 7. Competitor = 2 Note: a. Authority = 6 (Equally applies to both a salaried worker and business person. While determination and competitor although applies to both a salaried worker and business person but these traits are better for a business person). b. The higher the number, the higher the "traits" or "luck". In the above example, this person is considered better off, as a salaried worker given that he has higher numbers for earned wealth and main funds as opposed to weak numbers for a business trait. His only largest number is 2 for "competitor" while the rest are either zero or 1. Each of us is said to have "suitable careers" and since this sample person is considered as a Strong Fire person, his career related with wealth is associated with Metal element. While his career related with power and authroity is associated with water career. As you are considered as a strong earth person, water career is suppose to be your career with wealth. While wood career is your power and authority. Most likely, you may not have a business person's chart (not seen your chart) but rather perhaps, more as a salaried person? If so, if this is a good luck period for you then water career or wood career are favourable. BTW (by the way) many MLM's is banned or illegal in Singapore. Dear Anon, Most of the time, our office orientation (sitting) is constrained by either the layout of the office and the use of system furniture where we are not able to tilt our table. Only those who "own" a room may perhaps change their directions. Again, often if the furniture i.e. cabinets, sidetable and table are fixed, also difficult to change, here. However, Eight House Theory or 4Good & Bad directions has limitations, in your situation. There is no magic cure for this. Since you cannot do much, here; have to consider other situations like looking at home Feng Shui. Dear Cheryl Usually, it is best to determine what type of wealth "corner" or sector this is. In general, if you have applied Flying Star Feng Shui; the numbers have different connotations:- 1. Mountain Star #8 = relationship, networking, luck = or auspicious mountain star. Activated with a "mountain". 2. Water Star #8 or #1 = water wealth location. Activated with a water feature 3. Base Star #8 = similar to Para 1. However, these stars must not be looked into isolation. Thus, you should have knowledge of MS#, WS# and Base# at each sector inorder to properly balance or enhance each sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Sir, my wealth corner is located in my death direction (NW) and my front door is located in my irritation direction (SW).
