While 2. mountain stars, is best activated in an enclosed environment or "blocked" by a mountain. Dear Anon, 1. There are two "angles" to look at the case where often, from the master-bedroom, we may see the toilet (toilet bowl). 2. In many apartments; be it a condominium or an HDB (government housing development board apartment or flat); in fact all master bedrooms have a detached-toilet. In some instances, we do not get to see the toilet as it may be closer to the bedroom door. 3. As mentioned under Para 1; there are two ways of looking at the "issue" or non-issue with the toilet:- 4. From a Shapes and Form point of view 4a. As you have mentioned, some people may feel uncomfortable seeing the toilet (toilet bowl) from their master-bed. Frankly, there is not much choice, here. Other than to close the toilet door. If the beam is made of wood, then based on the destructive cycle of the Five Elements concept: metal destroys or neutralises wood and seven represents = metal element (weak metal) and silver represents metal element. Dear Samsiah, Usually, to analyse the entire apartment complex then, it would probably have to be the front door (facing the neighbour's front gate). But if you are trying to analyse your apartment, then; for high floors or high storeys 8th storey and above, then it is often the frontage of the apartment or often the living room area or the facing direction where you have the most windows and/or balcony. If your apartment is often 7th storey and below, then often, it should be the main entrance to your unit. Dear Lawerence, Yes, your observations are correct. This is because, especially in a home, the location that has both water and fire element is the kitchen area. And there are many considerations, when water and fire is close-by! For example: 1. Compass School Feng Shui Many practitioners who apply the Compass School of Feng Shui is very much concerned with "Fire at Heaven's" gate. And under this concept, it is very bad luck to have the stove placed at this specific location e.g. NW sector of the home. And when analysing Flying Star numbers, some combination of Flying Stars may be very bad for stove placement. For example, the location that may have MS#9 with WS#6 and Base#3. 2. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui Where you correctly mentioned if possible, some locations should not have the stove directly facing the wash basin or water position. In fact, there are lots, lots more considerations. What I had mentioned is just the "tip" of the ice-berg! 3. Commonsense Approach to Feng Shui We should also not discount this area. This is because much of Feng Shui has to do with commonsense. And because of commonsense - good or bad, somehow some Feng Shui concepts are derived. For example, a stove should be placed against a solid wall. Not not have it's back facing a window. For example, imagine if the stove has it's back with the window. And if there should be a strong gust of wind and if the windows are louvered, wind may inadvertly allow the fire to burn one's clothing. Some "silly" Feng Shui master may asks the owner to place some "lucky" charms e.g. hang a set of six coins in the bedroom. But, in modern times. it would make more sense to invest in a fire alarm or smoke detector(s). Here, if there is really a fire, the smoke detector(s) or sprinkers can help us. For example, a home with very large living room vs small bedrooms implies that the owners are "adventurous" or in business, big risk takers. Generally, other than egos or suppose "traits" of owners, there are no major concerns, other than "feel good" or "feel bad" type of situations. As we are now under Period 8; it is always prudent like all Feng Shui assessments to look at or study the Feng Shui qi of Period 7 vs Period 8 for the specific unit in a development. Some homes or aparatment(s) can benefit with a change in qi. While others may have to consider or dwell deeper into each sector to check to see whether it is more beneifical or worse-off to fly to a new Period 8 chart. For example, because of the frontage of the home; on the surface, it is good to fly to Period 8. However, on closer study or scrutiny of the flying star charts, it was found that e.g. nasty stars such as #5 and #2 has flown into one or several bedrooms. Dear Violet, 1. You have a good point. Not all things that influence has more than 33.3% space. In general, many FS practitioners look at colours e.g. on a wall; curtains and bedsheets. And thus this is how the 33.3% "influence comes into being". 2. You are correct to say that small windchimes and bagua mirrors are small, yet do not occupy 33.3 per cent of space.
