This year's Chinese 7th Ghost month falls on 11 August to 9 September 2018. No issue to start renovations before 11 August and continue during Chinese 7th month. But avoid starting renovations during the Chinese 7th month.

Another altar taboo is the number of Gods. On an altar, the God(s) must be odd numbers. For example : 1 God, 3 God... hmmm 5 God may be a little too much.
