  1. 4. Is thereany concernif a bedroom door face a storage door? The stuff inside the storage are used/unused toys, linens, pots, dinnerware, and the like. Please see sketch 2. ANS: The concept of symbolism in Feng Shui. Under symbolism; best not to see things like "toy knifes / guns". And any other sharp objects facing the bedroom. 5. How about a master's bedroom door facing the door to the open deck? Is this an issue? Please see sketch 2. ANS: The concept of "coffin position" i.e. avoid legs facing bedroom door or an opening such an opening say towards an open deck. Or for some homes that have external wall that is made of glass; avoid legs facing towards "such an opening". 6. Reading about poison arrows coming from pillars and room corners, can we avoid this by having the corners rounded during construction ? ANS: Feng Shui cannot be done by remote control. Thus, if one does not say there or in a specific room even if the rooms have sha qi or poison arrows or beams; then no issue. ANS: Thus e.g. if one does not sleep below a beam for 2 hours per day per year; no issue. ANS: sha qi from a concrete wall; in my opinion can have a poison arrow of around 1 meter distance. For softer corners e.g. of a wooden cabinet; it can be only around 1 1/2 to 2 feet depending on the material it is made of e.g. hardwood; softwood; particle board etc...
  2. This question has been reviewed many times in the past. And again, the concept is the same it is based on Commonsense approach to Feng Shui:- 3. The door of the toilet/ powder room faces the dining table. But what is immediatley seen when the door is open is the lavatory/sink and not the toilet. Is this a concern? Please see sketch 1. ANS: This topic especially the concern of a toilet bowl can be read under the url:- UNDER TOPIC 2/4 OF THIS LINK:-http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27452&new= And more:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27449&new=
  3. Please see reply, below:- 1. I read that the toilet should not be above the stove. Is this also applicable to the shower area above a stove? A1 This has a basis based on Commonsense or we also can call it cow-sense Feng Shui. A2 What is the MORE crucial issue? A3 Here, the most crucial issue are the "waste pipes" such as the drainage pipes "STICKING" out directly below a drainage pipe. As all homes have drainage pipes; and many of these drainage pipes are linked or glued together plus there are some pipes e.g. U shaped etc.. that can allow one to unclog it. A4 THESE are the pipes that we are more concerned of! A5 As off-chance there may be a likelyhood that these pipes may:- A5.1Leak.Imagine if it leaks and these materials can just flow downwards to the utencils and/or food that we are just cookingetc... A5.2 Imagine one dayif the drainage getsclogged; someone has to stand aroundandopen the cap to clear the clog. If the materialagain flows down towards the"fixed" stove... A6. Usually, in a proper toilet; it should have water proofing.Although it is nice never to have a toilet of sorts above the stove; but if really no choice; then other thanthe concern of the pipes; the standing area say in a shower if it is immediately above the stove is generallybetter than the pipes above it. 2. Is it bad to have a stove facing the wall of the toilet/powder room? Pleasesee sketch 1. A7. Again this is another cow-sense question. If it is just a wall no major issue. BUT if there are:- A7.1 A toilet bowl sharing this same wall; then hopefully the sewerage pipe is not next to the stove. This is considered inauspicious. A7.2 Usually a stove heats up things close-by. So, we also don't want to have water pipes running close-by. For example if the wash basin is sharing the wall with the stove; if say the cold water pipe gets heated up.. I know, you get free hot water; but unexpectedly a child or even adult can be scalded by the hot water. A7.3 In Feng Shui; it is considered inauspicious to run water pipes close to the stove - other than A7.2. Considered inauspicious as water and fire are "together".
  4. Is this good enough a reason to add salt in the vase.
  5. Oh my GOD! My wife's smelly feet kills! The smell is unbearable! BUT, hey no choice! She is an East group person while me? I am a West group person!
  6. These are the considerations:- 1. You can use the Free 30 Days Auspicious Date for One/Two Person(s) at this url: dates.geomancy.net or http://dates.geomancy.net 2.And do take note that description: the report is"As it is".
  7. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Determing the facing direction of an HDB flat or any other dwelling is more of an ART than a SCIENCE. 2. Why art? As mentioned in many, many past forum messages on this subject: Even geomancers are divided as to which is the facing direction. 3. In your example: 3.1. Most likely the facing direction is EITHER:- 3.1.1 Standiing inside the apartment at PURPLE marking A looking out towards B OR 3.1.2 Standing inside the apartment at PURPLE marking B looking out towards C 3.1.3 The other missing factor is the siteplan with BLOCK where this apartment stack is in. 4. Under 3.1.3; some geomancers even consider the facing of the ENTIRE Block especially if the block of flats looks like a slab of bricks (very rectangular shaped). 4.1. While as many Singapore know; the 5-room HDB point block has 4 stacks each looking out towards different directions. And for this HDB 5-room point block; each of the stack can be the facing direction. 5. Anyway, there is no prize for right or wrong, here. IT DEPEND! 6. Again, referring to some past forum messages; questions asked are:- 6.1. If one has personally stayed in that home (apartment/flat) for at least 2 or 3 years or more; COULD plot several Flying Star Feng Shui chart(s) to check which is more "accurate". (Of course, this is for those who are more advanced in the understanding of Flying Star). 6.2. An experienced geomancer will often say that they will try to observe the habits or if not sure ask the person staying in that home or going to do so: 6.3. Are you most likely to leave the main entrance door open (most of the time) e.g. when you are at home. OR do you slam shutthe main door once you are at home? If so, then it MAY be that your facing direction could be standing inside the home at marking A looking out towards C. 6.4 If you always slam shut the main door often; then how can qi come into the main door (even if itcan be considered as the mouth of the home in some instances). 7. Therefore, determining the facing direction is purely an ART, first and foremost. 8. It is a pity that some geomancer would pull out aFeng Shui textbook and refer to it.As most of us know, in the past, very few if anyapartments exists. 8.1. And in the past, ifan old Feng Shui book refers to the facing direction; it is often or 100 percent of the time;standing inan old traditional"landed" property looking out towards the main gain. For this reason, some Geomancersdo or die insists that such "bible" written say 500 years ago is the only correct method. 8.2. In essence; some geomancers feel that especially for low floors; the facade of the entire building should be considered as the facing direction. This is most likely true especially for the older Singapore HDB 3-room slab or as mentioned from top view these flats look like a piece of brick. 9. Even the area where the flats are is considered. For example, Singapore is a small island. And if we are now at Marine Parade area. One will often notice the wind (breeze) blowing at different times of the day. As mentioned in several past messages; geography does play a part although it is only used as a guide. For example, we learnt of high and low pressure zones. And at night the heat from the land is heated up while the sea cools ... thus wind will blow from high to low and this changes ...during the day and night. 10. The sitemap is also looked at. This is why many HDB 5-room point blocks have clear space around each block and they are 25 storeys high. While older HDB 3room flats depends on whether there are other same flats at same height; which may or may not block direct wind blowing. So to comment on your 2D layout plan without looking or visualising at the entire neighbourhood; and there is also a difference between NE of Singapore (North east monsoon) and say the east coast (Marine Parade area).
  8. Further to what I had mentioned, do keep in mind these two major considerations:- 1. Many geomancers have the concensus that the most "yang" qi area can be seriously th emost likely candidate as the "mouth" of the home or apartment. 2. The key success factor of the Flying Star Feng Shui is about the "mouth" of the home: where the most light and "air" is most likely to "come-into" the home.
  9. For the benefit of users in this forum; this link shows a "collection" of Singapore Government built flats built by a statutory board called: Housing and Development Board or HDB. HDB-3 room flats are "slab or literally brick-type"; while the reference to "point-block" is the HDB-5 room flats. Majority of these flats are build in the early years by HDB. Flats range between 1960's to 1985 thereabouts:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=43&mid=25777&new= These HDB-3 room flats and 5 room flats are scattered all over many parts of mature HDB estates. Especially the HDB 5 room flats or point blocks; the majority are built between 1970's to 1980's.
  10. These are some of the considerations:- 1. This may not be related: "Salt water cure". Just do a SEARCH under this forum and there are lots of resouces on "Salt water cure" such as these:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=7&mid=14743&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27242&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=3&mid=24740&new= 2. In the above link; a salt water cure must have these three ingredients: 2.1 amount of salt +copper coins + water 2.2Some leave the lid open but in a well ventilated place. Other geomancers (but rare) sayscan place this thing in a coveredlid. 3. It is the chemical reaction especially with the sulfuric acid + copper coins (water as a medium) to create negative ions. 4. In your example? without the coins? ERH..... most likely still can help to prevent some "disease". Like what? Salt water does not go well with mosquitoes. Thus, one benefit maybe is prevent dengue ? 4.1 Otherwise, do us a favour; check with whoever comes up withit to explain. And erh.. let us know....
  11. Often we are enticed to purchase rubbish in the name of "Feng Shui products". It is like stacking a ship full of useless products. And if we don't fix the major leaks; just imagine; this ship can sink even faster!!!
  12. Ancient Chinese Toilets are literally a Walk Away from the house 1. In ancient times, the toilet facililty can be found outside of the home. 2. If you are one of those who has a phobia for a toilet at home; take a cue from some cases where the entire family use their condominium toilet for their daily business! 3. Hokkien saying " SIAO AH" (literally means) = Are You MAD???????
  13. Dear Mr Tay, The Developer has listened to your advice! And they have come up with a PR plan. And the first thing they will do is; they will give this condo a distinctive LOGO that is the talk of the town. No prize or reward! BUT, you will know; you have done a service to the development and the subsidiary proprietors who will soon occupy or it this place "their THRONE".
  14. 1. The developer uses this same layout plan for his entire project in a Singapore "estate". 2. Again, same story: toilet at the frontage. And the toilet bowl shares an "external wall". 3. Hopefully, again, the toilet plumbing is not above the "critical" living room areas such as the sofa seat area.
  15. 1. Again, this is a different layout plan. But as the master bedroom cum master toilet is at the frontage; look at the attachment. The entire toilet is above the main entrance area. BUT, the good news again is that the toilet bowl (with it's sewerage pipe) is sharing an "external wall". 2. In addition, so long as the 2nd floor piping e.g. the drainage cum sewerage piping is not above the main door; this is the best we can hope for;
  16. Again, this is another typical layout plan where the toilet AREA is somewhere close to the main entrance area. However, the more important consideration is: "where is the sewerage pipe". In this example; although the toilet is above the main entrance; but the good news is that the toilet bowl is sharing against "an external" wall and never directly above the main entrance. Thus, this is a better layout.
  17. 1. Thanks for the illustration. 2. Although it is nice-not-to have such a senario; but from my personal experience; around at least 30 percent of landed properties share the same situation as yours. 3. The only difference is where the actual sewerage pipe is. 4. In fact, in my opinion; amongst such a situation as your layout; yours is still one of the better ones. As from your layout plan(s): more importantly it does not show that the sewerage pipe can be or could be directly above the main door. 5. Thus, in simple terms; if it is not directly above the main door or just imagine; not along the line where we often walk into the home; this is a good situation. 6. Please see attached illustrations 1, 2 and 3. This type of layout plan also shows: the toilet at the front of the home area. In this example; the toilet pipes are directly above the wall where the proposed TV entertainment area is. 7. Thus, it is still preferred that the layout of the living room is as shown under Illustration 3. Should the sewerage leak from the pipe above the TV console; unfortunately, it may short the TV and other equipment. This is a catch 22 situation. I would rather not get spluttered with sewerage if the sofa happens to be at this area. It is either this or that .. one's choice!
  18. 1. Please note that if you want to ask questions based on "time dimension" in Feng Shui; then the closest concept is that of the Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. Here, if you know or at least read about the concept; you still have to draw up a Flying Star chart SPECIFIC to that home or office you are referring to. 3. Only after doing so, then you can plot in your yearly flying star chart. 4. Thus, your question is like those G.I.G.O. If not sure what is G.I.G.O. please make an effort to search for this term in this forum's top-left frame. 5. In addition, I really wonder, are you seriously in checking out your toilet yearly. If so, might as well, frankly, shut the toilet down permanently. Then, there is no concern with it. Just ignore, my recent posting: U stay there We don't. Here, even if I don't stay there, it does not matter to me.
  19. 1. In an off-site Feng Shui audit; where the block of flat is elongated or may have several stacks that face different directions; 2. With the help or assistance of the owner (or to be new owner); be it a new or resale flat; identify which is the correct orientation of the layout plan to the siteplan. 3. In this example, the attached illustration was prepared. And the owner is asked to check which orientation is correct. And if possible, he/she could outline the unit onto the siteplan. (Not a must do, thou).
  20. The Free 30 days report is clearly stated: "As it is". If not sure, use the search feature in this forum for " auspicious dates report as it is "....
  21. 1 Considering the various forms of luck; ba zi is only 1/3 out of the Holy Trinity of luck. 2. Where ba zi is only about born with; and itis just a snapshot of when we were born. There are several escape clauses to it: education, influence from family, friends etc.. 3. For the home, it is still very riskly to consider just onhomes with earth directions, as there are many many more influences on a home.
  22. Although your question(s) is one paragraph long; in order to get the answers in detail; just imagine a duck swimming on a lake. Although the duck is seen swimming gracefully on water, but many are not aware of the tremendous effort the duck has to paddle vigorously with their web feet. Same goes, here.
  23. 1. Frankly, even amongst (us) geomancer's; many of us cannot even agree on the issue of the facing direction. 2. But the main concensus is that the facing direction can be the door, the facaade of the building, the stack BUT However, it should be the place where it has the most yang qi. 3. Usually if it is an existing home, there should be some "history". If so, several flying charts could be created and analysed. 4. An experienced geomancer, would normally analyse the habit(s) of their client; e.g. always close or open their main door, windows fully or partially opened or closed all the time. The activity area such as the living room etc.... 5. Therefore, it is wishfull thinking, if one wats an immediate answer. 6. It is considered nice-to not a must have for e.g. facing a good sector and or say main door within a good sector etc.... 7. For apartment number report for ground floor enter O.
  24. I always keep in mind this phase "You stay there (YOUR HOME); We (Geomancers) don't!" Just imagine, someone coming to your home; and provide the "weirdest" advice like: don't use your master toilet! Completely shut it down.. sort of thing! Is this for real? The Geomancer will happily go off with your fees and if you do listen to such advice; saddled with the inconvenience and "issue" for the rest of your life whilst living in that home!
  25. Hmm... sorry, this photo was taken immediately after my wife had ran away with our DOG! Just imagine! THE DOG is more important than all of US! Can't blame us for looking... like this rite???
