  1. Can I put a mirror behind my sofa right at the living room. Like the picture I sent you. I remembered you said ok. Thanks OK this has more to do with common sense. If the sofa seat is too close to the wall/mirror. The mirror may end up with hair oil and takes some effort to maintain. That's all.
  2. Under the five elements concept: although gold colour represents the metal element. But often, gold may also look like yellow. Thus if a room or sector particularly has nasty #5 bad yellow; yellow colour is not ideal for that room. And on the safe side; try to avoid anything that may possibly look like yellow in a sector. In this case, this yellow globe can look like yellow even if it is "gold".
  3. Visible signs of Chinese 7th month along the service road of one of the estates in Compassvale
  4. In practise false ceilings are usually made of light-weight materials and considered as non-load bearing.
  5. Back in the 1950's and 1960's aluminium was rare and very costly. Thus this was the most popular design using the material steel. In the past the gates are made from iron. As aluminium was expensive to make in the past. One of the quickest ways to open to any width and quick and easy to lock. Can even add extra padlocks if needed.
  6. Under symbolism in Feng Shui; this sharp arrow-tips are less then ideal: as sharp pointed arrow-tips are considered as poison arrows. Thus, if can avoid; best to avoid such arrow-tips at one's main door area.
  7. This rough sketch shows the "rectangular" design type of grille gate design: a traditional most "stable" form of design. There are of course many variations to this design. And this is the most popular design throughout the ages
  8. This is a modern gate design: A compromise: Combining the best of two worlds: partial privacy (both sides of the gate) but allows air-flow from the two panels closest to the middle of the gate.
  9. Another 1950's gate design with alternating flower, circle and a rotated bow-tie design. The flowers, circles and rotated bow-ties often are painted to make the gate very colourful.
  10. The most basic light weight and "airy" gate design. However, this design no longer appeals, today. As to many home owners, does not afford the level of privacy given that land sizes have shrunk. And the house seems to be closer adding to less privacy to the home owner.
  11. An interesting 1950's gate design. Top-half has an elaborate motif.
  12. Client says: Once again thank you for the visit to my house and explaining the details. My wife and I are really impressed with the details of the report. We will abide to all the recommendations and will be good uring your visit to our new home. Thanks!-
  13. It is advisable to position oneself at the entrance of a residence, like an open window or balcony, according to the principles of Feng Shui related to Shapes and Forms. This will help in identifying potential risks, such as a neighboring building's sharp corner.
  14. Under the Five Element Concept: Circles and white colour elements represent the Metal element.
  15. More room to shape landed homes Conventional home vs homes under new guidelines. Greater leeway to alter interiors as well as change outside area of landed homes.
  16. Generally, this water feature design is still acceptable
  17. Very nice old architecture
  18. Location: Corner Indian eatery at Serangoon Gardens (by the way they individually make fresh one of the best pratas around) The concrete beam you see in the photo is considered load bearing beam. But do take note that the rest of the brown wooden planks that were mounted onto the ceiling are non-load bearing beams. However, some has a misunderstanding that the planks are beams - which is in theory not true at all.
  19. Location: Mountbatten Road. (Used to be the main road connecting the East Coast to the city. That was before the ECP came into being) It is a pity that we can only see the Ang sana trees that were planted at least 30 to 50 years ago. What a pity, they are no longer planted on most of today's roads. As HDB estate roads are both narrow and does not have a road side divider; such trees are no longer seen in new HDB estates like Sengkang, Punggol, Choa Chu Kang etc... This tree has low branches and as they radiate towards the road; the branches were often trimmed. Even so, the tree managed to retain a balanced "umbrella" shape. The ang sana trees were planted previously on wide two way roads to provide greenery. But is highly unsuitable on highways. The Singapore we used toknow will slowly and surely be made way for "progress" to house 10 million?
  20. Privately owned Chinese Coffee-shops are a rare sight today. These coffee shops are overrun by big chains like Kopitiam / Kopi type of shops....
  21. These are some considerations: 1. It is best to do a scientific triage. 1.1. What you mentioned is based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. In order?to apply this properly, if the evaluator is not on the ground to study the situation; sometimes : a photo tells a thousand words. 1.2. This is because, sometimes contrary to a lay person; what you had described: the wall at the front entrance; this may not even be the "FRONTAGE" under both Shapes and Forms and?Flying Stars Feng Shui. 1.2.1 Especially if the house opens to a beautiful "backyard" etc... So you may in fact be describing about the "rear of the house" instead. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui can zoom in on areas where it may be prone to "mental issues" or blockages. Usually the "guilty" stars are often those of the #3 and/or #4 Flying Star numbers. 3. In this very old illustration; under Period 6; the SE or living room area has bad combination of "mental stress" related stars like MS#8 with WS#4. 4. Here, Flying Stars is used to both identify and cure or disarm such bad sectors. Fortunately, this example is not a major consider from now to 2023 as this is the Period 8 and at this moment #8 = auspicious outweighs the bad luck of #4. But after 2023, that is a different matter all together.
  22. Please see attachment. In general, this type of triangular plot of land (may be) acceptable - subject to any external open drains if any along its perimeter which may affect it's Feng Shui
  23. Avoid being at the roof top during rainy days ... lighting strikes
  24. No joke! I have been to several homes where trees or plants were grown taller than the lightning rods. And for those staying at the Waterway Terraces I and II; do avoid being at the roof top on rainy days. Photo showing the roof top of Waterway Terraces I where some of the trees are pretty high-up, there.
