Dear Sophia, Look at it this way: millions or billions of people have never ever worshiped Tai Sui. Like yourself and your family, personally, I also have not done so. Nowadays, we read "clever" people putting the notion for us to do so. Frankly, it is so easy for them to tell us to do so. But, often these are marketing ploys. I believe, these "clever" people may not also have done so. We often hear of practitioners who give advise. But often the advise is only a short time e.g. 1 or 2 hours. Horror stories of "cannot use the toilet totally" etc... And the poor owner dare not use the toilet for life! Most of the time we should understand : "You stay there (your home)…

Happily to say Master, all you mentioned below aren't present with our situation today. At least, we're worry free now and the reverend figures are not offended. Thanks and warm regards, N.L. Lam

These are some considerations: 1. In my opinion, on the contrary, often or rather the "opposite" is the case. Here, for majority of people; they would think "thrice" or none-at all; the notion of putting their ancestor tablet in other people's home. 2. Firstly, as you had metioned; if we were to place ourselves in other's shoe; we would not want to "inconvenience" the "owner" of the home in imposing our "ancestor tablet" in other's home since perhaps we are renting only a room. 3. But, if you are renting the entire home; yes, so long as the tenant does not drill holes; and they bring in an altar plus gods and/or ancestor tablet; this has been done before. 4. But if the ho…

Dear Elena, No, many FS practitioners would not consider this a change of `birth chart'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I'm interested not so much in bad chi as chi that's just a little bit off. The designer of the station secretly made the plans too create the most powerful feng shui site in the universe. However, growing two-hundred mile diameter kumquats isn't an exact art, and though his plans were almost exactly followed things were just enough off to ensure that craziness and randomness were the results instead. I'm especially interested in how the rooms would be generally arranged, but I'd also like to know about decorations and decor.

Dear Master Based on my date of birth, the 'West' sector favors me, i.e., West (prosperity), SW (longevity), NW (excellent), and NE (Health).

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am born in Western calendar 6/23/1982 on a free report it shows my element as Fire on others it shows that my element is Water for all 1982. Can someone explain? 1982 is a Water dog year. So if you take the year of birth as a basic element you are born in a water element year. However, in ba zi, we take the day of birth as your true element of the day. Meaning to say that you are born in the Fire day in a Water year. This is because even in the year, there can be a water/wood/fire/earth/metal element person. So that day element represents the most accurate form of the element of birth. So you are essentially a Strong yin Fire born in the …

Dear Anon, 1. In the past, many of us who have studied history may recall that there is a bronze age. 2. This is where tools were developed and metal tools and metal was even shaped into coins. 3. But, have anyone heard of a crystal age? 4. If we were to look at crystals or crystal objects, these come about in our very recent history. 5. Here, I mentioned that any use or application can be considered a modern invention. 6. Like the counterpart of a fountain; a small fountain cannot equate to a larger one. Because, there is fewer amounts of water that can friction with air. 7. Similarly, we can draw a parallel to a crystal. Often, the crystal that we buy (if it is meant to…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Me and my Husband are western persons but our bedroom is located in our disaster sector what could i do to prevent bad luck?! Eight House repesents suitability. It is really hard to fix it except to minise the use of the room if possible. Here are some of the other areas you should look at to attempt to compensate the luck from other factors:- 1) If possible locate the bed facing a direction that is favourable for your sleeping position. So even if the room is not so suitable, at least you benefit from the better sleeping position. 2) If the room is located where the direction is favourable to your ba zi. Or, if at least the house is suitabl…

Dear Peck Wun, Frankly, there is no issue with trying to repaint the wrought iron grille. In many situations, unless, it is a major clash or the colours are out of the ordinary e.g. bright red or bright blue. The `natural' colour of what is suppose to be wrought iron grille colour is overall an acceptable colour. Since it has both gold and black. Gold represents metal and black represents water. Metal and Water are acceptable combinations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask what happens if WS8 and MS6 fell in the sector of half of the toilet and half of the dining room (divided by a solid wall). Can WS8 be activated in the dining room? The other half of the dining room is MS2, WS3 and B7. As long as a resonable amount of sector influence cover the dining room, it is still possible to activate the stars in the sector. For Water Star however, you also need to make sure there is clear space available, because that is the requirement. A dining room may not be as effective a location compared to living room/balcony. With the open space consideration, you will not be able to enjoy the water star in this sector of …

Dear Fiona, Yes, in some of the past illustrations (graphics) in this forum, the Hulu or bottle gourd is often used as a "cure" in Feng Shui. For example, for those who have read or seen series on the Journey to the West; or other Chinese fairy tale classics, a deity uses this bottle gourd to "suck" in bad elements into it. Much like the show: " I dream of genie ", popular in the 1970's where the genie lives in a bottle. The bottle gourd or Hulu, is thus often recommended to be placed between the toilet bowl and the wall to the bedroom. In addition, an alternative to using metal as a cure, the bottle gourd is sometimes placed inside a bedroom or hung above a bed, where t…

Dear Joji, It is like "sucking on" a baby's comforter. If it makes one more "comfortable", it is ok to hang one. Frankly no harm from it. But don't purposely hang one the size of an ostrich egg. If it falls and hits on one's head, can sure give an amnesia. Else, one may have to place a "HARD HAT" sign for anyone passing thru it. *JOKE* Basically, any material is acceptable (SO LONG) as it is reasonably priced. Better steel if it is cheap! Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. The room layout(s) : Office and Home should always be considered also, when deciding how your tables are placed. 2. For those doing business, ideally, the first choice direction should/could be your "prosperity" direction. However as I had mentioned above, the layout of the room i.e. the location of the door, windows - are also be be seriously looked, or taken into consideration. Even the postion of things like air-conditioner (in-moveable object) and any beams, any poison arrows caused by corners of filing cabinet(s) etc... 3. Since the Tai Sui will be changing in a few weeks soon, this will become a "non-issue" for your existing desk placement.

1. Please note that this area is no hocus pocus. 2. It is strictly based on the Five Elements concept AND? 3. For example, there is a difference between a person who is a WEAK FIRE person vs a STRONG FIRE person. 4. Of course if one is a weak fire person; the his/her beneficial element or colours are Wood (Green, brown or wood tone) and Fire (Red, pink or purple). 4.1. IF one is a STRONG fire person, then, common sense under the Five Elements concept is that one should not have additional FIRE (Red, pink or purple). Water element is favourable for that person. 5. If you are into DIY, you have to understand the concept of the Five Elements. 6. As you can see from the…

Dear Wasis, 1. The term " Flying Star Feng Shui " and " Xuan Kong Feng Shui " is one and the same. 2. In fact, if one looks carefully at the naming convention in this forum, under the topic header "Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing)" one will come to understand that Flying Star is indeed Xuan Kong Fei Xing. 3. As money plants prefer some shade, in country which is near the equator, and subject to direct sunlight; it is very common to see money plants planted just below expressway flyovers i.e. the shaded ground. These money plants grow very well such that they look like a vast carpet `grass' covering these areas. As to whether one can plant a money plant in the soil; it can…

If your home is a P8 SE3, South sector has bad stars MS#5 with WS#3 and Base#3. Yes Yin water may be used to control MS#5. For the water you may place some crystals but not wood chips or plants in it. As this may inflame #3.

Dear Sean, Sean Lee wrote: Eg. what is difference between Weak Yang Wood vs Weak Yin Wood? Actually, yin and yang simply defines more the chracteristics of a person. For example, Yang type tends to be more aggressive and very like outgoing type, while Yin type tends to be more passive and very introvert ype. But ultimately depends on the overall yin and yang balance. Sean Lee wrote: Read that a Weak Wood should find a spouse that is Water or Wood. Does it mean I should find a spouse of Strong (Yang or Yin?) Water or a Strong (Yang or Yin?) Wood? To be frank, it is hard to find the most perfect partner. ie a weak wood person would best have a partner such as Strong Water…

Hi Eve The article on the Titanic by Raymond Lo is at www.worldoffengshui.com. This is Lillian Too's web site. Very interesting article. It's easy AFTER the event, what about something BEFORE an event. What a skeptic eh ? An uncle of mine was booked on that Silkair flight but car broke down enroute to the airport so had to catch a later flight. Maybe I should look at his chart. I guess his elements were well balanced that day and that luck was on his side. Cheers Glyn

Dear Anon, 1. Under the Flying Star Theory, one has to look at the top two stars in addition to the base star. One should not look just at the base star in isolation. For example, you mentioned that (2) is at West in the kitchen. Under the Flying Star Theory, one has to look at the relationship between the two stars e.g. mountain and water star and relate this to the base star. If for example one element for the water star is `bad' and it is helped by another element that assists the bad star e.g. water assists wood and in turn there is a sickness star at the base, one has to analyse all three and come up with a solution to balance it. E.g. introducing fire element to co…

Dear Anon, Please note that under the Grand Duke concept, some of the recommendations that I am about to give have more to do with (beliefs) and some may say that they are `superstitions'. Therefore, it is on the onus of anyone reading it to either `pick' up on some of these `beliefs' or if one is not agreeable, then, please skip any or all of the recommendations. You can still do renovations to the house. 1. Since you have just bought the house, it would imply that you have not moved in yet. This is in my opinion, particuarly good. Here, can still do the renovations: For the Chinese, normally a date is selected prior to the renovation. (not compulsory thou). Not to move…
