HDB unit layout help!
Priscilla A. wrote: Thks master lee for your promot reply. The door facin is ideal to my kua number. Guess i feel better after your advice. Would you be able to advice on how to reduce the impact of the stairs. > Please note that this is only a Free GENERAL advice forum. If you want to apply Feng Shui; things like e.g. ploting a Flying Star chart etc.. needs to be looked into. Something like the attached sample which takes into consideration many factors. You also wrote: Also, is house number important? The unit no. Is 14-240. Guess in cantonese it means real bad. But both me n my husband are not. Will that affect us? Thanks! This is kinda too late to look into. There is a free House (Apartment) Number report under this forum. In Singapore and Hong Kong; perhaps one can or may say that in the future; when you do sell your home; especially SOME (superstitious) Cantonese MAY not like the apartment number. Thus, it has more to do with the marketing or selling of the property in the future....

HDB unit layout help!
These are some considerations: 1. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; of course this type of layout is not the best; as the most "stable" form is always rectangular in shape. 2. However, I have seen worst layout(s) than this. 3. Do take note that there are three markings: 3.1. Marking in RED "A":- For this layout plan; it is important that the stove should not be at the "A" marking. A fridge at that location is fine or OK. 3.2. Marking in GREEN "B":- Although the staircase is not directly facing the main door; the staircase (both going up and down) is often considered inauspicious especially if one stands just inside the door and can see it "sloping" downwards. (Here, one would expect that as we can go up the staircase, we can also go down from it). 3.3. Marking in BLUE "C":- I believe, some may comment that the main door opens towards the living room windows. But in my opinion; this is less of an issue when compared to the other two points I mentioned above. 4. The above is based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui only. 5. Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. Ba zi is about Heaven Luck. The other factor is "Human factors". If your many friends and relatives many make comments on such a layout plan; then it would often affect the persons staying in that apartment. 6. In the past, I had mentioned that it takes 3 or more major "leaks" for problems in an apartment. Thus, it would be more prudent for someone owning such an apartment to have "better" Feng Shui than a regular apartment. If so, this would reduce or minimize any issue (if any) i.e. for peace of mind.. P.S. the attachment shows the center (centre) of gravity which is fortunately in no way within an enclosed area e.g. kitchen.

Tilting Main Door (GONE WRONG)
Unit marked in RED "A" faces a very long corridor. One plus point about the plants along marking in red "B" is that these plants help to slow down the sha qi towards Unit "A". Please see photo...

Tilting Main Door (GONE WRONG)
These are more photos of this same unit main entrance door... The strange thing is that if the main door WAS not tilted; the owner NEED not place a conVEX mirror above their main entrance door. Here, the owner tilted the main door that now faces the column.....

Tilting Main Door (GONE WRONG)
Today, while visiting a client's apartment. Came across a HDB mansionette (Executive Flat) that had it's main entrance door tilted. On further observations; actually, it is far better not to tilt the main door. As originally, the main entrance faces an "opening". After this person had tilted their main door; the main door faces the column wall. This results as a sha qi or poison arrow. Please see photos...

AnotherDesign, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) project, features three 40-storey blocks of 160 four-room flats and 320 five-room units = Natura Loft. This small development just TOP recently last month September 2011. Can you see some of the pictures where it seems that there MAY be poison arrow (corner of the corridor wall at 90 degrees?) Do you think this MAY be a poison arrow?

Next to the field is an interesting (free) club. According to the committee member which I met (he is in one of the photos); he tells me that this is a "poor" man's golf game. As literally, the small field has all the same bells and whistles of a golf course except in minature scale....

will it change the house period

will it change the house period
In my opinion, I don't think so.

Buddha - Leg chipped off (Broken)
In my opinion; this has nothing to do with Feng Shui. But rather, own cultural customs, beliefs and personal feelings. I believe there are some people who felt that it is not good to simply "trash" the figurine. If so, one may wrap it and store it away.

Shapes & Forms: Poison Arrows - Sha Qi
Location: Punggol Central ( 7 year old HDB flat) Did you manage to see the sharp corner of the 90 degree corridor wall aimed towards a specific unit? Can you see the owner (tenant) of the unit placing a ba gua mirror with a conVEX mirror to deflect this poison arrow or sha qi...

water feature like aquarium or partition
These are some considerations: 1. In Singapore, because of a high percentage stay in apartments. Many apartments have main entrance door that opens towards the balcony or the living room windows. 2. Many have either experienced family members installing a partition or have seen apartments with such a partition. Thus, in my opinion as many as 30 percent of apartments in Singapore be it HDB or condo install such a partition. 3. Technically, so long as one does not have a straight path between the main entrance door towards an opening (at the living room window or a balcony sliding door); this should be OK or fine. 4. As to how tall? For asthetic reasons, many install a partition at least up to the height of the door frame. And some don't go fully to the ceiling so as to allow some light to filter or reflect towards the main door area. 5. Do take note that not all partitions need necessarily be air-tight. Some have openings to display items etc... 6. It is nice to have the width of the partition according to Feng Shui ruler e.g. 35 inches 42 inches or 49 3/4 inches etc... 7. Frankly, there are many more considerations.

Should one stop buying the unit
These are some considerations: 1. No offence to the person posting this question. 2. My answer is: Only Singaporeans can think of such questions. 3. Perhaps, this is why we have our singlish: Kiasu and Kiasee. 4. Singaporeans, please read between the lines.. and I hope you are not that Kiasee, OK? P.S. a. The only other character that is close to Singaporean's K-su and K-see attitude is Rowan A. as Mr Bean in many of his delightful comedies... b. One fine day when I do retire from Geomancy; I will certainly add this question into one of my websites... be it http://kiasu.net Seems very appropriate.. content.. Cheers!

House Number Report
These are some considerations: 1. House number report is actually Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. The common Flying Star Feng Shui or the 9 grids has to do with HORIZONTAL analysis. 3. While this House number is also Flying Star Feng Shui and has to do with VERTICAL analysis. 4. Usually, it is best used during a development launch where one can still have the pick of both stacks and individual level units. 5. Holistic Feng Shui: 5.1. For example, let's hope that a home's horizontal Feng Shui is good or acceptable. If the horizontal Feng Shui is not as good and there are major leaks; and the vertical House number or level is not so good; it is like the Titanic which would ultimately sink bringing down with it people on it.

Can you figure out what this warning is about?
This signage is located at the Ang Mo Kio Hub. The signage actually says "NO DUMPING ALLOWED"

It's just a SEAT x2 that's all! Non Feng Shui
In my opinion; this household had placed a pair of elephants as a form of seating .. that's all. Why a pair? Everyone seems to love "pairs or couples" right?

What is an alternative signage for a disabled?
At a recently completed ShoppingMall in the heart of the new Clementi Heartland; This new mall uses a totally different "disabled" signage for one of the larger cubicles meant for the elderly and disabled... No BLUE BADGE, here. But rather the BADGE is GREEN and comes with a WALKING STICK!

Singapore is a FINE city; Even sleeping & eating
In this newly completed HDB building project; workers are not allowed to go to sites like Facebook... Oops! sorry! sorry! This is not an office environment; but rather a construction site! Therefore how can construction workers get hold of their own personal computer(s)! But rather... the workers on this construction site were instructed not to sleep and eat inside the multi-storey car park... Most likely the supervisorsof the developerare worried that sleeping in the car park can be harzardous for their health. For example, a vehicle may just roll and kill the poor worker who is sleeping on the job!
