  1. NO OFFENCE, LADIES... If you still want to look at it... then.....please scroll, lower... In Feng Shui, many homes come under one of the following categories:- Grade A = an unpolished gem. Little enhancement makes a great deal of difference! Grade B = an average home. Certain areas may need enhancements or to neutralise bad qi. Grade C = a below average home. Needs lots of Elastoplast or band aid to fix. Grade F = No amount of enhancement would work! A goner as in gone with the wind. Or Gone case. (Note: In the above, there is no grade D. As an F means Fail!)
  2. 1. In my opinion, although, some architects try to do something out of the ordinary. 2. But I feel that some of these architects continue with: YOU STAY THERE, WE DON'T. 2.1. To some of these architects, to them looking good is better than all the future inconveniences thrown at the future owner of the unit. 2.2. Just take a look at the attachments. 2.3. Some of the balconies on the lower floor has their balcony uncovered or not protected by a balcony above it. 2.4. The common sense reason is that if possible, all balconies are of the same size or if not; the upper floor balcony should be larger than the one lower them. Not exposed, as shown in the red circle(s). 3. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui is about seeing (imagine) the flow of qi : be it wind or WATER. In this case, RAIN FALL. 4. Good luck to those units that will not only get "ponding" every 50 years but rather, each time there is heavy rainfall. And GOOD LUCK to you!
  3. How come all my neighbour's balconies are much larger than mine? And all balconies are NON-identical? Don't tell me that by doing so, one can claim that it is a designer luxury condo? For a 99 year old development; and after paying a huge amount for the enbloc site; this seems to be over-priced!
  4. Silversea Condominium: Silversea is 99-year Leasehold condominium at 50A Marine Parade Road Singapore 449266 in District 15. Its expected completion is in 2014 with a total of 383 units and 21 storeys high. (Formerly, used to be HUDC Amberville - Enbloc) Highly unusual entrance as it is at the round-about. The entrance and exit, that is. Personally, I don't like such an entrance /exit. And it's neighbour (also built) by the same developer The Cape (freehold), suffers even poorer Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Photos was taken, yesterdayfrom Cote D'Azur condo.
  5. 1. Often, a client who owns a penthouse unit that has a roof garden; would ask me: 1.1. Can I install a piece of roofing on my penthouse roof? 1.2. Many penthouse roof tops do have trellis. And most trellis are made of wood and are not enclosed. This is perfectly OK. As there are sufficient openings and if the trellis wood pieces are secure, no amount of wind would affect it. 1.3. BUT... if we are considering to install e.g. a piece of roofing SHEET: When we install e.g. such as the Dupont 2ply roofing material, if it is not secured properly and/or if there is an unusually large wind; may just blow the roof off. 1.3.1 And just imagine, the roof flows down and it may inadvertently in a freak accident guillotine someone's head off! 1.4. In addition, those thin roofs or made of aluminium can be pretty noisy - especially during a downpour. 2. Thus, this is another example of applying simple Common sense. 3. If you want to say this is "not good Feng Shui"; one is not entirely wrong. 3.1 As I had mentioned numerous times that many Feng Shui concepts originated from pure common sense.
  6. Significance of missing corners and protrusions can be found under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm Please scroll down to around the middle of the above url.
  7. Sorry, to disappoint you. No cats were harmed in this photo-shoot. The cat tongues referred to are just candies that were made to look like? Cat tongues! That's all! Have a nice day!
  8. 1. Grateful if you can re-read what I had written earlier. 2. Frankly, if you have zero or no knowledge in this subject, then, you shouldn't be attempting to write a thesis on this subject. 3. Usually, for an academic thesis - up to an MBA standard, it is suppose to be what you had learned e.g. in Strategic Planning and applying all the various concepts learned into your thesis. 4. Furthermore, I can understand if you are writing a thesis to be evaluated by a geomancer. But, if not, then this is tall order. 4. This is my last courtesy reply to this.
  9. Frankly, in my opinion, it would be good if there was some history (if any) that the school was (purposely) built on Feng Shui principles. And you could research more into this and perhaps use the information. Alternatively, if you have studied Feng Shui concepts; then apply them convincingly. Otherwise, posting "PLEASE HELP ME SIR.." seriously ain't going to help. Remember: it is a thesis. And not just a one liner answer, here.
  10. The Estuary is near TOP. Blocks 93 and 95 are either N1 or S1 facing. Blocks 97 and 99 are either NW3 or SE3 facing.
  11. While Block 87 faces NW1 and SE1. Block 89 shares the same facing directions as block 93 & 95: N1 and S1. Block 91 facing directions are NE1 or SW1. More suitable to the West group.
  12. Better stacks are South (or South-west facing) directions. But a pity many of the units have the kitchen at NW = "Fire at Heaven's gate". If not sure, do a search for "FIRE AT HEAVEN"S GATE". And stacks highlighted in purple may be subject to direct and indirect afternoon sun. Especially the stacks as shown in the street directory.com
  13. From a Feng Shui point of view; fire should not clash with water. As fridge is considered as a metal element: especially when fully closed; it is said that there is no issue for the stove to face a fridge. Provided it does not have a water dispenser as shown in the example. And also, avoid having a wine cooler (see through) glass with bottles of wines facing the stove.
  14. These are some considerations; 1. Many Feng Shui concepts are based on pure common sense. 2. In the sample example; especially for The Minton: 3 bedroom dual key, there are some features that are considered "less desirable" in this development. And many have to do with common sense. 2.1. Living Room TV set sharing the same wall as the Master bedroom bed-head: 2.1.1 Frankly, it depends on various factors like: 2.1.2.Type of TV set and it's "radiation" IF ANY. In the past, some are concerned with TV sets and their EMF strengthemitted by the TV set. Thus, some were very concerned that having a TV set near to our brain cells may not be that healthy. 2.1.3. The above MAY be a valid concern. As even with today's TV sets; if one were to move an EMF meter close to it; the meter would/may jump to very high or max. 2.1.4. Personally, I will never buy a home that uses pure dry wall: as mentioned previously; my first real shock was at The Livia condo @ Pasir Ris. For such a development: it seems only the exterior 4 walls are concrete/pre-cast solid walls. 2.1.5. Everything else is just "partition" board type of material... synonymous with office partitions... If so, I prefer not to sleep with my bed-head sharing the same wall as the living room TV. In Malay, the term may end up as "OTAK Kosong". Or sleeping too long with theEMF from the TV may just zap my brain cells. Not withstanding thattoday, we also had to endure microwaves from our HPs. 2.2 The Fridge, washing machine + stove 2.2.1. Ideally, the fridge in such a unit should be at location marked as "C". And often, most of the time, the washing machine / cum dryer if any should not be next to the fridge or even close to the stove - IF Possible. 2.2.2. Just yesterday, my client wanted to move the washing machine into the kitchen area from her yard. As we know, sometimes, we cannot control the wind (if any). And often, when we scoop the washing machine powder, minute traces may fly all over. Just imagine it flying into or coating a wok or other eating plates or items or coat the doors etc on the fridge. Can be cancerous. 2.2.3. Thus, the interior layout is poorly designed. And the architect must have believed that after earning his/her dues, he/she would not likely ever to buy a unit at the Minton. Thus this doesapply to them: "YOU LIVE THERE (or will be); THEY DON"T" applies... 2.2.4. In Feng Shui, it is acceptable to have a fridge facing the stove. Provided it is not a wine chiller that has glass doors and bottles of wine placed inside. Or a fridge that has a water dispenser on it's door is also not favourable. 3. Marking shown as B. This is not as critical. But based on Shapes and Forms, ideally, one should not see any sharp objects if any between the purple lines (zone). 3.1 As in an unlikely event, based on common sense, if a stranger were to get in; and if there are knifes in full view; it was thought that they may just go grap one and threaten the owners. (But this is very rare ..) 3.2 Thus, this is why, some often say, they don't like to have the main door directly facing the kitchen. Or if one were to hang clothes also, the first impression is to see them... 4. In conclusion: 4.1. As one can see, majority of the above is based on pure common sense. It is up to the individual or stakeholder to weigh whether there are any perceived risks (if any) to them or not. Or some may be abit far fetched like para 3.1.
  15. Do remember to avoid having the bed-head as shown in the attachment. Where the bed-head is close to or share the same wall as bath 2's toilet bowl wc.

  17. 1. In Feng Shui, it is considered inauspicious for the main entrance door to face the dining table. 2. Again, this has very much to do with common sense than actually Feng Shui. Or rather, some attribute it to "in the name of poor Feng Shui". 3. Why common sense? 3.1. Although many living in a condo, don't often leave their main entrance door ajar or opened (fully). If so, many don't feel nice eating and a neighbour pass-by. If so, some may "politely" say hi to their neighbour(s) or cordially "invite" them for dinner. 3.2. Often, we get to see a dining table piled up with "tons" of items : more like a rubbish heap in a visitor's eyes. Thus, when someone walks in the first impression of the house will be the dining table. And if it is an eye-sore... then considered "inauspicious".
  18. Lady, where do you want me to place this Mountain (star)? Erh.... rubbish...
  19. "The best place to enjoy a 1080 pixels resolution view is no less than 6 feet from the source." Those who know, know BEST....
  20. The stacks do not face the junction unlike some newer designed blocks. For example blocks 281 and 284 do not have stacks that face a junction. Location: Toh Guan Road
  21. Has PAC MAN anything to do with the designs of the various blocks of flats found in the attached street directory map? Or was the architect a fan of PAC MAN and wanted to immortalise PAC MAN in his/her design of the block of flats in various parts of Bukit Batok?
  22. Nowadays, there is a major concern of bird flu and bird droppings. Since the 1980's many HDB flats slope anything that looks and feels like a roof. This is to prevent birds resting onto the ledge. With such slopping roof, birds will avoid them like the plaque..
  23. Look what some place on top of their cash register... In this case a range large x 2 (pair) of oranges
