  1. 1. In my opinion, you begin to sound like a doctor. Or may unwittingly act like one! 2. In the past, some doctors who are "in-to" Feng Shui, has the assumption that like the human body, for example, when they look at books like Grey's Anatomy, the heart, veins are described exactly to the point. 3. Feng Shui is both an art and a science. Thus, It is not an exact science! 4. If you want to install a water feature, go ahead. There is always the Feng Shui ruler, and its good measurements. 5. Frankly, who simply posts questions like: what exact size it must be, what colour, how high... may often not be as successful as someone else who use their common sense or feelings. 6. Don't place a water feature for the sake of Feng Shui, often, it is not as "potent" as if one loves a water feature so much that one really loves to have it.
  2. 1. Under the Five element concept, no matter how, #3 is still a wood element. And in some instances, it can help to exhaust say bad earth e.g. #2 or #5. Much like a tree (wood) has roots that can "dig" into the earth to get nourishment thus exhausting bad #2 or #5! 2. In addition, there is the 81 combinations of Mountain star with Water star. And some of these 81 combinations can yield favourable results! 3. Thus, it is too immature or fool hardy to think only of #3 as a rotten star! 4. In addition, when Period 3 comes, #3 will be the jewel in the crown of Period 3! And under Period 2, #3 will be come the future prosperity star! Thus in general, in isolation, it is not so-good star!
  3. Imagine, if this is true:- 1. All Geomancers will be "shaking their legs" while waiting for the beginning of lunar new year! 2. In fact, some people were told to have their premises reviewed "Yearly"! This will be sweet news to the ears of every Geomancer! 2.1 Thus imagine, if a geomancer has 500 new clients every year! And if 50 percent of the 500 new clients asked for their home to be reviewed yearly or even ever 3 years! If we accumulate this 500 to every year of geomancer's service, he will be rich beyond the wildest dream! 3. Thus have anyone heard that a Geomancer only works in the beginning of the year and like bears hibernate the rest of the period? Yes / No? 4. Primarily, a geomancer can conduct Feng Shui sessions all year round! 5. Many of the key concepts don't need to wait until beginning of the year. For example:- Five elements concept, Eight house, Ba zi. All these are key concepts applied to Feng Shui of a home. And are fixed concepts. Even if the geomancer discuss this info, it does not matter if it is the beginning of the year, or the end of time! Flying Star Feng Shui. Although there is some truth in what you had mentioned but the main Flying Star Feng Shui LASTS 20 years. And the only variable is the Yearly, Monthly Flying Star numbers that change during this time. A good practitioenr would discuss the overall Feng Shui of a home for say 2004 to 2023! If this is the year 2002 (today), then, there is truth to say that in 2004, the Feng Shui qi has changed. Thus, if one is getting Feng Shui audit done during 2004 to 2023, it would usually be looked at properly by a competent geomancer. Unless today is the year 2020. And the geomancer may recommend one to do Feng Shui audit again in 2023 due to a change of qi.
  4. In my opinion, this is very minor or non-issue. Perhaps, some people may have the following "concerns":- 1. Symbolism Kitchen is where there are knifes, sharp objects and fire element. And maybe your friend feels uncomfortable with placing the family photos, because of these reasons. 2. Perhaps some feel that say using a magnet is not "permanent" and thus may affect "permanent" relationships. 3. Otherwise, if you check out this forum, this question has never surfaced in the last more than 10 or more years of this forum! 4. It is akin to some ridiculous people who say that one should not place shoes or shoe cabinet outside the main entrance area! In my country, rich or poor usually "park" their shoes outside their main door. This range from Bungalow, semi-detached, terrace homes to condominium units to public housing! In fact many successful medium to small enterprises have an area at the frontage of their office - to allow visitors and staff to take off their shoes and wear slippers into their office! So what is the big deal! In life, there are more important issues than this "chicken feet" concern! Might as well, if one is so scared, don't place any photos in the home.
  5. 1. Any element if it becomes or constantly is strong is no good. For example #6 represents metal. Thus, as I had mentioned earlier, a set of six coins e.g. where each coin has a square hole (earth) which supports metal (strengthening it or controlling) it. Thus it is still good to have red string (with or without the tassle to tame or control it). 2. However, on it's own #6 is considered as past, past prosperity star. So exactly or directly not a useful star. Unlike #7 which is also a metal element. But it is a weak metal. And only under Period 7, it is a good "kind" star. During any other Periods, many know it as "Thief or robbery star." 3. #6 in any period is generally acceptable. But the main concern is that it is a strong #6 metal element. Thus, in real life, one has to see the 81 combinations of MS # with WS #. Thus, I have not directly checked what is the influence of MS#6 with WS#1 as these two will have a combination : maybe good or bad. 4. In general, too much metal may be detrimental to #1 water star (on it's own). But again if the sector has other bad stars such as #2 or #5, then, part of this metal may be used to control #2. Thus this big metal's resources may be used to support #1 and dissipate #2 bringing metal into balance. 5. The key here is that under the Five elements concept: Anything that is too strong, should be made to "cool down" or dissipate to "neutral" position. Alternatively, if the element is weak (and a good element) it should be boosted up to a neutral position.
  6. 1. For the Chinese "ancient" coins:- Under the five elements concept: one notice that it has a square hole in the middle. The square hole represents earth. Thus, Earth (square hole) supports Metal (copper coin). And the red string (or some red) is suppose to "bind" or "control" the entire coin. 2. Hulu tied with red string:- In my opinion, no precedence other than RED being considered as an auspicious colour (color) for the Chinese. And many decorate it with RED. Not only the hulu but many trinkets or decorative items also often tied with red string. For example, the Chinese Palace Lanterns. Each of it's legs are decorated with red strings (tassles). No specific reason, but symbolic RED to the Chinese represents auspiciousness. You don't see such decorative objects strung with "white" strings. As white symbolises "death" to the Chinese. (To the west, of course white represents purity). 3. Modern Chinese do wear white wedding dress following western tradition. But often, during the night dinner celebration, they often change into a "Chinese" type of night garment. And many choose RED or PINK or even (royal purple - especially Thailand).
  7. 1. In my opinion, your home should still be considered as a Period 7 home. (Unfortunately, it is not so simple to Fly to Period 8 as many have imagined). 2. Based on your description, in my opinion, it should usually be South facing. If you have stayed in this home for several years, no harm in drawing a Flying Star chart for both South and NW - and check to see if which is more accurate. (When checking the critical stars are #5, #2 and #3 negative stars which often leave some "clues" behind). 3. It is still a better choice to activate a water position (especially) if it could be done at the double #8 (current prosperity) sector. To "prevent" roving eyes, you can check out the article, below:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Roving_Eyes_or_Infidelity which is will bring one directly to this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=22492 4. Alternatively, if the South-West sector is a living room or balcony area, then the fish tank (MAY be located, here) to tap the indirect water wealth luck under Period 8. A large fish tank such as an arrowana fish - tank would be ideal if this is a "clear space" living room / dining room area and not a bedroom! Quote: I havefews questions which really bother me for quite some times as I really get a bit confuse in activating the DOUBLE 8 STAR which in the NORTH. I hope you can help me in my problem. Thanks a million in advance, I appreciated. Awaiting for your kind reply asap. Thanks again. Qestion 1. I brought a flat which built in year of 1994 and I had it renovated in 2005 febuary. From book,it mentioned about changing the period of house from 7 to 8, celling tiles, floor tiles & main door must be changed, but sadlly, I only got my floor tiles changed, my celling wasonly being touch-up with some of the white plaster & my main door was be modified in length by the contractor as due to changing of my floor tiles. The question I would like to ask is my house now still remain as Period 7 or Period 8 house?? Question 2. I am staying in a 3rd storey HDB flat in Singapore, My main door have the facing direction of ORTHWEST and when I open my main door is a wall of the liftof my flat not directly facing instead my main window in my living room located in SOUTH had a better and brighter view and seem to be more YANG. My question is where should my house facing direction?? NORTHWEST or SOUTH ?? Question 3. DOUBLE 8 STARS is located @ NORTH of my house which is RIGHT hand of my Main Door ( Facing Out )Most of the fengshui expertmentioned, it is not advisable to place any water feature there as will invited roving eye into Relationship. What should I do to this?? Any better place for me to place the water feature?? FYI, I have a2 Tiers4 fts x 2 fts water fish tankinSOUTHEAST of my house which I am keeing my AROWANA fish inside.
  8. Generally, the logo is OK. Except for the following advice:- It would be good if the big star does not have a "pointed arrow" aimed at the letter N. The pointed star should (if possible) be raised slightly higher. Otherwise, it looks OK to me.
  9. Frankly, in general, use red especially red lamp would be advantages to burn #3 or if a sector has two #3's. (#3 = scandals, romance issues, quarrels, lawsuits ...) But of course, best to look at all three variables and even the yearly stars before commiting to the above. Otherwise, safer to avoid using "red" as a remedial cure given that it may trigger #5 or #2. (as red - fire fuels or support bad earth #5 or #2). If a sector has two #6's big metal, then "something fire" is good to control it depending on whether it is the WS or Base star....
  10. Please note that if #2 or #5 has not flown into the sector. And assuming that you had earlier mentioned this West sector has MS#6 with WS#1 and B#8, "something red" but not too much red is acceptable, here. (If we discount additional stars like #2 or #5). For example, the traditional 6 coins cure? Many of the 6 coins cure(s) often include red string and tassle on the 6 coins. As 6 coins is big metal, we can use a "little red (representing fire)" element to CONTROL the strong metal. Thus in a static 20 year flying star such as above excluding the year star, it is totally acceptable to use "something red " in that sector. But given that if the annual star is #5 or #2, then be cautious and not apply the "something red" here. We need as much #6 strong metal as possible to neutralise the #2 and also support #1 water (future, future wealth star). Quote: Katrina L. wrote: Hello Master Lee, A feng shui expert says that we should place something red in this West area since the #2 will be situated here so that it will neutralize it. BUT Isn't it that placing something red will just enhance the #2 star - instead of exhausting it? Shouldn't the solution be using metal instead?
  11. 1. We have to differentiate between Yin Feng Shui and Yang Feng Shui. 2. Yin Feng Shui can be known as Feng Shui for the dead. Yang Feng Shui is Feng Shui for the living. 3. The Eight House can be applied to both Yin and Yang Feng Shui. 4. Usually in a Yin Feng Shui environment, the person is dead, immovable object. Thus, it would be good to have the person within the good sector to "defend" against external factors. Thus, it is good to have the person absorb good qi as what you have mentioned. 5. Under Yang Feng Shui, the critical difference that although both Yin and Yang persons have a nose or mouth; the Yang person is still breathing. 6. Many of us have read the importance of the "mouth" of the house. The mouth of a house is where we should tap good qi. Here, we can draw a parallel to a living person: where is your mouth? Is your nose and mouth at the back of your body and your spine is at the front? Yes/No? 7. In Yang Eight House concept, it is always good to sit with your nose/mouth facing a good direction. And in addition, one gets the best of two worlds if as I have often stated, under the Eight House, it is good to spent time at a good sector. A famous Feng Shui practitioner once mentioned to his client: that when one sits up on your bed, it is better to sit with your face (mouth and nose) facing a good direction. As we (practitioners) are serving the living not the dead in home or office Feng Shui. Unless, you want to place your mouth and nose on your back-side. Then, go for Yin Feng Shui approach. 8. In Flying Star Feng Shui, many practitioners would like to see home that has double auspicious #8's at the frontage. This would be useful in encouraging good qi into the home. And the idea is that if the qi from a certain sector is not good, some may advice "locking up the bad qi" eg. in a store room or "close the set of windows".
  12. If your home is a P8 SE3, South sector has bad stars MS#5 with WS#3 and Base#3. Yes Yin water may be used to control MS#5. For the water you may place some crystals but not wood chips or plants in it. As this may inflame #3.
  13. 1. When using an oridinary compass, to take a reading, one should stand inside the house looking outwards. 2. For a landed property, often, the facing direction should often be (or usually) such as standing inside the compound of e.g. the garden looking (taking a reading) facing the same direction of the main entrance. Here, in general, many homes have it's frontage / main door at this area. 3. Try not to apply the fixed template bagua Feng Shui. This is a modern invention.
  14. The 20 year flying star has a strong metal = #6. Plus a good water star #1 with current prosperity #8. In general, it is sufficient to take care of the yearly #2. Even without metal, the sector on it's own (in general) would be able to sustain a #2 "hit". Unless there is a yearly #5, then we may consider using metal. But in the current situation, it is best to leave this sector alone. Since strong metal #6 is already present. And too much metal is detrimental to #1 water star. Too much metal, may create an over imbalance and suppress #1. Quote: Katrina L. wrote: About the natal flying chart of our period 6 house, our main door is located in the West sector with 6m, 1w and 8b natal stars. Since #2 annual star for 2009 will be located in the West, will it be enough to put metal objects near the entrance to suppress #2 (now that you know the natal stars of our West sector?).
  15. Based on some customs: If the day is only a mixed blessings or inauspicious (not Very inauspicious) and for practical reasons, the 2nd person may enter the home (later) usually a few hours later (if they really need to be present) in the home.
  16. Yes based on your initial assessment, using metal is a better choice - on your description. However it is still best to look at the 20 year flying star numbers and even the yearly stars. But metal is often in general the safest cure. As you have mentioned fire may accidentally inflame bad earth.
  17. Yes it is possible to do so.
  18. Yes, in my opinion it is acceptable to do so. If too small is considered only a play thing.
  19. It is good to have the water feature. And it is good to drown #5. SW happens to be also the "indirect" water wealth spirit location. And advantages to have a medium to large sized pond at that location. Quote: I have a SW1 facing house with a sum of ten configuration, does that mean that because the front of the house has a mountain star #5 I cannot activatethe waterstar#8with yang water? I was planning to put a koi pond just outside the front door? How come some say that if you put a yang water feature where a bad mountain star this will effectively ?drown? and inactivate the bad mountain star?
  20. 1. Frankly, especially if one is single, not only yourself but many teenagers have idols. And many of your age have pin-ups like what you have described. It is totally fine! 2. This is unlike a situation, where one is married and have this 60's pin-up in the master bedroom. Here, it would invite "jealousy" by one's partner! Especially if the only pin-up is of this lady and not your wife! Go ahead, to place the picture (photo)! Especially since it will make you happy and all these personalisation makes for a cosy room!
  21. Please check out this link as it is not a free service:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-name/po-name.htm
  22. 1. As mentioned in an earlier reply, the Eight House is limited in scope as it merely helps one understand which sectors are good for an individual and what is there best facing direction for sleep, work/study. 2. Other than that it does not offer any cures whatsoever. Plain and simple: "Either you spent time, at that sector or cannot spent time at that sector" or "Either if you can sit facing a good sector, if not, TOO BAD!"
  23. 1. The test is whether the granite boundary wall is "tall" enough and/or "blocks" the view of the poison arrow to the main door. 2. Best to stand inside the home (main entrance area) and look outside. Imagine whether the structure pose a threat directly towards the main door. And if the structure is sideways, then it is no threat. 3. If still in doubt and if it is still considered as posing as a threat then, you may consider either: a ba gua convex mirror or a 6 hollow rod wind chime (as a viable alternative).
  24. 1. In real life situations; we should consider concepts under the Eight house as "NICE-to-have" and not a "MUST-have". 2. It is best to find outwhat is the true purpose of the eight house theory and what are it's strengths and limitations:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Three-Step-Approach 3. It works "best" when one is actively searching to buy a new home or remodelling a complete new home. 3.1. Here, it is good to locate sectors are good for us, as bedrooms or locations that we spent most time at. 3.2 Next best is to see if we can sit facing one of our better directions. Other than the above, the theory is limited. As in a real life practical world, often, the facing direction of the home may not be suitable to us. 4. The facing direction is best analysed using the Flying star and each sector under this concept, can be fine tuned. 5. While the Eight house has no "cures". it is either you spent time there, face a good direction (full stop). 6. As mentioned above, it is nice to have the head (bed-head) face a good direction. And Eight house theory cannot do more than that. And for NW, you have to pass it to Flying star to determine what are the stars there and their influence, any cures or imbalance based on the flying star. Quote: 1) Based on "8 house theory:, our main front door is located in the East area of the house(auspicious), but the door is facing/direction to NE(inauspicious-death). How to solve this problem ? which one is more important (the area position or the direction)? Do we need to direct the door to east area? 2)It also happened with the bedroom. Our head direction is toward SE(auspicious). However, the bedroom is located in NW area of the house(inauspicious area). Any way out to this matter ?
