Dear Chun Da Lee, Chun Da Lee wrote: Thanks again for the god advice abaou the smoke detector, i'll immediately placing one with discussion with a fire security company. But my question still remain, does placing smoke detector change my feng shui??????? Does it correct my fengshui or do I have to do something else?????? A feng shui solution is whatever that can effectively fix the problem. So yes, the smoke detector is an effective solution to this problem. If the problem no longer exists or is minimised then of course it corrects the feng shui aspect as well. In any case, the problem you are facing isn't really one of the MAJOR feng shui problem that adversely causes …

Nowadays, many developers seek the advice of geomancers on the macro Feng Shui of both the site and what is outside of the development. Yes, in general a water canal at the back of the estate can / will have consequences on several stacks in the development. And Yes, even the running of the drainage from east-west; and even how the drainage from the site towards the water canal has an impact from a Feng Shui point of view. Overall, these have very high weightage : Water dragoons / Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Thus even if we do pathe our entire unit or apartment in pure gold - no use if the external or outside the four walls of the apartment is "condemned" or "corrupte…

1. It is not rocket science as all flying star numbers are either classifed as eitherYang or Yin (stars). 2. In the earlier example of a Period 8, N3 home (or apartment); it just happens that there are a high concentration of Yin stars at the North and NE. 3. Thus, especially if we draw a 20 Year Flying Star Chart; and like para 2, found that all the 20 Year stars belong to Yin element, then it is considered as Excessive Yin stars. 4. In both of the cases e.g. North and NE of the above, "fire" element is used to counter the excessive yin stars. Fire can simply be allowing light into that area or room i.e. keep it bright. Otherwise, especially in period where the Year …

Dear Simon, The following are points to consider on the display of ornamental Japanese swords:- 1. Like any other swords, it should not face the main entrance door. 2. It should be displayed with the protective sword casing even if the sword is blunt. 3. Ideally, it should be displayed in a display cabinet. 4. The best location to display the ornamental sword is in a `separate' room. For example, in a private office, a `person' room . 5. Avoid displaying it in the living room, dining room, family room. As mentioned above, it should be in a " private " room. If it is displayed under para 5 above, there may be a possibility of relationship problems. Finally, in my opinion…

1. Salt water cure is one of the valid traditional remedies. 1.1 But, but, but................ http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=7&mid=14747&new= 2. It is just like in the past, there were only X-ray machines. 2.1 Today, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is far superior than the X-ray machines. 3. In the past, some geomancer may rely on a row of six-coins tied with a red string or a hulu or bottle gourd. But if one's bed is say directly above a stove; a relatively cheap and safe alternative is the smoke detector. 3.1. For example, the row of six-coins would simply melt in a fire; at least; the smoke detector may even "call you". Some …

Dear Luna, Currently there are two methods at looking at the number of fishes to `rear'. Method 1: ======== The most common method is based on general good numbers of fish i.e. fishes should be numbering e.g. 5, 6, 8. (9 is still acceptable). Method 2: ======== The other method is based on your kua number ie. if your kua is Li or South, you should rear 9 fishes. If your Kua number is Kan (North), you should rear 1 fish, if your Kua number is Chen or East, then you should rear 3 fishes. Ideally, this is based on the breadwinner's Kua number Conclusion ========= Frankly, the easiest method is to follow ` Method 1' especially if you have a large family and especially, the fi…

Thanks for the photograph. Without it, there could have been some misunderstanding, as this type of bed is unique. Can common sense explain why this arrangement is considered inauspicious? Sometimes, beds are "slippery," and due to physical activities, both beds might split apart or leave a gap in between. This seems to be the only issue based on practical concerns. However, this can depend on whether the beds have rollers or if the legs rest on slippery sliders for easier moving or cleaning underneath. All these problems can be fixed, so it’s not a permanent issue. Actually, it mostly comes down to symbolism in Feng Shui. Some believe that joining two single be…

Dear Jojo, If you want to practise 9 Star Ki, it is adviseable not to practise Feng Shui because it has its own `ruleset' and some of the key essence is the same but however, there are still some differences and if one does not know sure of the actual differences, one may end up creating problems for themselves. Basically for Feng Shui is the time for the breadwinner to enter the house is important. As for the direction, which you mentioned, in practical reality, when you travel say on the road, it is most likely that one may turn into an inauspicious direction. Therefore, this rule is not an important rule to take into account in our modern society. Lets look at it this …

Dear Josephine, Yes, usually, it is best to check for `leaks' in the house, first. It would be nice if we can enhance but often, we forget that we must first fix-the-leaks. From a Shapes and Forms point, there are several leaks in your home. (Frankly, I have not used other tools, it it involves more anlysis - due to a busy schedule). But from a Shapes and Forms and forms view, there are several leaks:- 1. Narrow hallway, which is on one side of the house. 2. Markings A to B:- The back patio sliding door. The path of qi from A to B is a direct path. And not auspicious. (Especially if the door is opened). In addition, because of this long corridor, there is supressed Qi. An…

Dear Anon, 1. This question is very interesting. 2. For the Chinese, many burial sites, both past and present, are chosen for their good Feng Shui. 3. The belief goes back to the Ching and Ming dynasties. Ancestors buried in special places are thought to bring luck to their descendants. 4. But there is a catch—a burial site that starts out good may not stay that way. Construction, digging up soil, or flattening hills can change how lucky the site is. 5. In Singapore, many of the best places were chosen for burials in the past: 5.1 For example, Orchard Road—across from Tangs or Marriott hotel and the current Orchard Road MRT station—used to be…

Dear Spencer, 1. Yes, I totally agree with your comments. 2. When Dahlia Park TOP, the condo was like a second home as I had clients in nearly all the blocks. 3. What strikes me was that even if these are condos, as you had mentioned, they are firstly freehold; 4. In an exclusive private residential area with both low rise and even all condos in the area has a height restriction or often called `semi-low' rise condo apartments. Most likely because of airport restrictions on the outer-zone. 5. I always felt peaceful, within this private residential encave. Nowadays, it could even be worse-off is to stay close to embassies especially the American or British as often these …

Thank you Cecil for sharing your thoughts on this matter. I am in total agreement with you. Far too many people believe feng shui is the magic bullet for all their "ills". When I tell them this, some can get quite annoyed ! And usually these are the people that have got themselves into a mess. Sadly in this day and age we all seem to want instant gratification. Cheers Glyn

Robert Lee wrote: Though the toilet is quite close to the center, it isn't exactly dead center. So I don't think it is a major issue. Furthermore, it takes several major leaks in the home at the same time for you to really have to worry. Thank you for your valuable advice, Robert.

Dear Wendy, Due to many queries on the type of Ba Gua mirror to use, I have complied information on the various types. You need to login to the forum and goto this conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures) Look for the recent messages e.g Part I, Part II & Part III. Further to what I had mentioned; 1. the key success factor is to fine tune towards one's home or office Feng Shui. 2. Best to analyse each 20 Year Flying Star chart of any sector in relation to especially the yearly stars. Some even go as far as looking at the monthly stars: especially nothing "problem areas". 2.1 For example, if we already are concerned with a particular sector e.g. East where there are MS #5 with WS#9 with Base #5; then in that year, if the #5 fell into that sector and other nasty stars e.g. #5 or #2 or even fire #9 falls into that sector : which is a bedroom then take greater preventive measures. 1. Avoid / get rid of back stabber (xiao ren) Under…

Hi, Here are several important considerations to keep in mind: 1. It is advisable to reassess the overall configuration of the house. 2. As Robert pointed out, a missing corner is defined as one that exceeds 33.3 percent of the house's total area. 3. Often, without careful examination, one might mistakenly identify a protrusion as a missing corner. 4. As you noted, it is not practical to install mirrors on both sides of every wall to compensate for a missing corner. 4.1. For further information regarding the significance of a missing corner, please visit: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm. 5. One effective way to mitigate this issue i…

Dear Samantha, Samantha Tieu wrote: I've been reading about Feng Shui and learned that my husband and I have KUA numbers (mines is 1 and his is 5) that just are not compatible. For example, the best position for my bed placement is North. However, according to the Feng Shui book, North is his total loss sector. I can't seem to find any type of remedy for this, should we have separate beds so that we have the best placements individually? Would this affect the marriage for feng shui purposes? This is a questions asked many times. Just today, I am already replied two other post. So please refer to this previous post for the answer:- URL: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum…

Hi fraser, I read your reason for finding out the Heaven-Earth-Human Luck Percentages. I am sorry to say that I do not agree with your reasoning. I think the dreams and other tools like palm history, astrology and 8 character bazis are supposed to be used as guiding tools to strengthen oneself so one can face life without fear and with hope and determination. Not with your reasoning that if the 10 years ahead are going to be tough so why bother to change the outcome since it is destined to be so. Nobody knows for sure what future holds and the destiny can always be changed since there are other unknown factors which affect the destiny. And it is universal law. One will ge…
