Dear Randy, I just came across this message under the conference: Like to share your Experiences (in this forum): ---- cut and pasted message--- Dear forum members, I would like to share my feng shui nightmare with you. Since I want to warn other members not to install water features with out first doing a pillar of destiny chart and flying star chart. Last year I installed a water fountain outside my house and installed a fish tank inside and lots of other cures on the advise of the BTB feng shui consultant. And need less to say it was disastrous. I lost my job got involved in a accident and developed severe health problems and financial problems. So instead of removing …

Dear Kapil, Thank you for your clarifications. To understand what I mentioned better, please go to this forum topic " Photo Tours of Interest (with Picture Attachments) Under this topic, click the first message posted " A picture showing circular steps radiating outwards ". This picture shows a typical `Ming Tang' formation where the semi-circle radiates outwards of the building. In your case, it should radiate outwards away from the main entrance door. For the metal pole you were mentioning; there are two ways of looking at it. Some FS practioners classify a tall thin structure as Wood element while others classify it as metal simply because the pole is made of metal. As…

Dear Jocelyn, Please see below:- In traditional Feng Shui, the original Eight House Theory is that if the main door is facing north, but you are sitting South, Eight House calls this a South facing house. Nowdays, with majority of users familiar with the ordinary compass direction and layout, when we talk about a `South' facing house, most people would assume that the main door is at the South. This is why when the Xuan Kong Fei Xing (Flying Star Theory) it is no longer called a South house etc.. but in Chinese, it is called `Sit South' and `Face North'. Under this description there is no way one can make a mistake as it is clearly `spelt …

Dear Jenney, 1. You mentioned that you stopped using the toilet in the bedroom. Perhaps u can elaborate further the rationale for doing so. This is because it is quite common for the toilet to be in the masterbedroom. It is good that u do not use the toilet but I like to find out more how are u applying the principles. It is because the toilet bowl is directly along the auspicious line/location. 2. For the fire place in the centre of the house. Can u elaborate if it is being used. From what I can understand from your message, looks like your family is not using it. It is best not to use it unless you have a real need for it. If it is not used, leave it as it is and do not…

Dear Ber It is ok to sleep on the floor mattress for both the mum and child. There is no evidence to provide otherwise. When sleeping on the floor, it is preferred to sleep on `wood' e.g. paquet flooring. It is not based on FS but wood or wood panels will ensure that when one wakes up or stepping on the floor, the slab of tile is not `cold'. As I mentioned in an earlier message, many Japanese are sleeping on the floor especially on wooden plank floors. Warmest Regards, Cecil Dear cecil, My baby and I are sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Will this affect our health or luck? Can I still do so?? Thanks

Dear Sudha, Thanks for taking the time to do a Eight House. 1. Based on your Eight House: N = Longevity NE = Disaster (Currently the door of the house) E = Prosperity SE = Health S = Excellent SW = Irritation W = Spook NW = Death Since SE is the health line, is it possible for your head to face East (Prosperity), South (Excellent), North (Longevity) or SE (Health). These are the sectors your head should face. 2. Another observation is that where possible it is best to sleep with the head rest against a wall rather than on an `island' on its own. 3. You should also watch out for `poision arrows' since there are three cupboards. Look out for the edge of these cupboards. If …

Dear Ber, Originally, from what I understand that you mentioned that your animal sign is a `Dog'. On the basis of the animal sign `Dog', under Chinese astrology, it's element is Earth. The Chinese astrology dog is based on the Year of birth. Thanks for clarification that you used the online report and it analysed you as a Weak Fire. This makes a " world of difference ' as the online report takes into account all eight pillars. I therefore have to reply on what was given to me. The earlier assumption is based on you as an Earth element person. As you now mentioned that you are a Weak Fire person, yes, the colour green would be suitable for you as it helps weak fire grow. …

Dear Jocelyn, Maybe, it would be better if I rephase it this way. NW and W are locations with the metal element. Unless one has done further analysis i.e. using the Flying Star to determine that there these sites are favourable. As metal wind chimes may inadvertently increase the `metal' element at these locations and make it inauspicious. For those who do not want to go further and use the Flying Star can if they really like to `experiment' placing e.g. a wind chime if they feel comfortable with it. The above regarding NW and W serves only as a caution where possible find out more if one is using Feng Shui to determine the `suitability ' of using the wind chime at the lo…

Dear Vickie, I am not sure if have read this write-up on Cate Bramble's site at: http://www.loop.com/~bramble/fengshui/confess.html (Confessions of Lin Yun). Within this page there are links to an article devoted to Lin Yun also. One should not place a Ba Gua especially inside a room or office. This will create Sha Qi. This website does not discuss on Black Hat Sect or BTB is an "off-topic" More authentic traditional Feng Shui theories such as Eight House (for personal directions) and other more advanced theories like Flying Star (for the office) and for the individual i.e. Pillars, I believe would help more. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, It is very difficult for me to comment as I really need to see a drawing of it. As an indent can be a large area or narrow etc... This is only to determine whether there is indeed an indent. As for cures, these are limited. For indents there are frankly no `miracle' cures for such `flaws'. Cures differ also if it is a landed property or a flat. For example if it is a landed property, one can do some landscaping to create a profile of the missing corner. Or place a light to brighten up the place. For a flat or apartment, cures are limited to e.g. placing mirrors to `extend' the missing corner. If you can, try to give me a sketch the layout and upload to the for…

Dear Chris, The stars are identified by the use of Flying Star theory. Based on the formula and calculation, a base star, the mountain & water star will be worked out. Thus, the main door direction is needed. Once the details are worked out, the analysis for each sector can than be deduced. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, Here, the principle of `since one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat' cannot be applied. This is because, the bed is not a poison arrow where, the threat can be neutralised if it is covered up from This is because, symbolically, you are still sleeping on the bed. (Even though, it is say covered with a bed sheet). No matter how, one is still `smbolically' sleeping on the same `divided' bed. At the moment, I cannot think of any solution with this divide. However, one can still use the Flying Star to check whether there is any inauspicious stars particularly at the bedroom especially the bad star relating to romance. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, This conversion is necessary only if you have downloaded the free software for your own desktop. The free software can calculate the kua, but I did not include my copyright software into this free software. As it was provided to everyone as I had created the software for fun:) However, if you are referring to the online reports provided by the My FengShui, every report has been automatically converted to Lunar Calendar before any analysis is done. Every Report you generate from our online services, provides one with proper conversion to the Lunar Date of Birth, which is used for all relevant calculations. Warmest Regards Robert Lee On 11/12/99 7:41:33 PM, …

Dear David, It is best to read up on Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui also. You can either read up the resources on thie website or any other books written by Traditional Feng Shui practioners on this subject. As you mentioned, it will help you to understand the exterior of your home e.g. the site where the house is on. If you are using the Eight House Analysis, make sure that you use a compass to find the North to South direction of your house and then superimpose the Eight House template onto your house layout plan. Follow the instructions provided under http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm If I am not mistaken, you mentioned the `Fixed' template format. Where you l…

Dear Cecil, Thanks so much for your replies. It makes me feel much better, specially because I felt a bit silly about the whole thing. As regards your queries, I am posting a few details here: * A little about this house: It consists of two flats side by side on the first floor. Each has a hall, kitchen and a bedroom. The flat numbers are 101 and 102. The main entrance is the door of flat 102, which is NE facing. A numerologist we know advised us to keep the NE direction because as per Hindu astrology, it is auspicious. He also said the number ?102?which adds up to a 3 is not good and so asked us to write it as ?102B? for a more favourable number 5. (Actually the original…

Dear Anon, Since you have the inbuilt shoe rack, it should not be a major concern i.e. it is of secondary importance. Where possible, keep the shoe rack clean and once in a while, throw away unwanted shoes. Warmest Regards, Cecil Can I had my enclosed shoe rack in my living room? On top of the rack , I put a vase of roses and a lot of photo frame, can I do that? I cannot remove the rack as it is a built-in rack, is there any way to solve this if the shoe rack is not good to be in the living room? Thanks Dear Anon, Some Feng Shui practitioners advice one not to place a shoe rack immediately outside the main entrance. It is not difficult to guess the reason for it. A…

I'm interested not so much in bad chi as chi that's just a little bit off. The designer of the station secretly made the plans too create the most powerful feng shui site in the universe. However, growing two-hundred mile diameter kumquats isn't an exact art, and though his plans were almost exactly followed things were just enough off to ensure that craziness and randomness were the results instead. I'm especially interested in how the rooms would be generally arranged, but I'd also like to know about decorations and decor.

Dear Anon, The main purpose of checking whether the two bedroom doors faces each other is based on one of the principles of Shapes and Form School where if there are two doors especially two bedroom doors that face each other, most likely there is a tendency for `rilvary'. As you have confirmed that it is rather a "triangle effect," there is less of this possibility. As the triangle effect is less known situation. Frankly, I do not want to be disappointed but there is no known direct relationship between Feng Shui and sibling rilvary. The closest to it is the Chinese Astrology signs e.g. http://www.lovesigns.net that looks at each person's characteristics based on their …

Dear Neil, Please see below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: Listmanager To: Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2000 10:19 AM Subject: Disaster at front door If you want to move the door, it is best to consult a competent Feng Shui practitioner or currently, as you are only using the Eight House Theory, another major consideration is to look at the Flying Star chart of the house. Here, it would be best to use the Flying Star to analyse whether the current door position and if you still want to change the door position, to analyse the Flying Star chart based on the new door position (assuming that it may or may not alter). For the house, the first priority goes to the…
